Honestly, thank you so much for being so so open about your PCOS! I’ve been having such a hard time with it lately, the doctors weren’t taking me seriously and kept brushing me off, it took me years to get an ultrasound, hearing you talk about this made me feel not so alone! Thank you

Hi Em, I hope you had a great week and you and your family are doing well 💓.
I appreciate you so much for giving us updates on your PCOS. I believe going private is the best option for getting treated quickly with this illness, because most public Doctors don't consider it a priority and that's so disappointing..but thankfully you finally got booked in for a scan. Please make sure to ask them everything that is causing you a major concern, because you shouldn't be dealing with that amount of pain. I will be praying that the Doctors will find out what is problem and come up with a solution to help you🙏🏾.
Thank you so much for sharing Em, love and appreciate you always. Take care, keep safe and have a wonderful weekend 🤗💕.

I had to go on 3 iron tablets a day a few years ago, I was severely anaemic and omg they made me feel so much better, I thought I was just lazy all the time 🤣 Glad you’re being listened to and getting things sorted hope your scan goes okay at the end of the month! I’m so jealous your going on holiday ☀️ The jewellery pieces are so cute 😍

Can 100% relate to the pain you're experiencing! I was diagnosed with endo a few years back and when I say how bad the pain is people rarely understand. Painkillers barely touch the pain, I've passed out from it because my body just couldn't cope anymore. Definitely worth looking into conditions like endometriosis and also adenomyosis. It's insane that medical professionals have normalised period pain and are so dismissive, the amount of times I've had drs say inappropriate and incorrect information is beyond! Best thing you can do is advocate for yourself!! Hope you can have some answers soon xx

I hope you get answers soon Emily, I have endometriosis and it took me 10 years to get diagnosed, I'm still seeing a gynecologist every 3 to 6 months, I had a scan a few days ago because they think I could have PCOS aswell. I'm sending you all the love, I know how awful these diseases are, keeping my fingers crossed that your scan gets you some answers xx

I feel your pain with PCOS! I finally managed to get diagnosed this year after around 4-5 years of speaking to doctors about it and being hospitalised twice due to complications. It can be such a nightmare to finally get a diagnosis or any type of scans.
My doctors finally prescribed me a progesterone only contraceptive pill about a year ago which has completely stopped my periods since I’ve been taking it and has made such a difference!
Wishing you all the best with your PCOS journey

I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago and had the most unbearable menorrhagia, however I later found that it was not just the PCOS that caused the condition. I also had a very large benign tumor that went through the wall of my uterus. Needless to say, I had an emergency hysterectomy. Yes, you do need to have a scan performed. If perhaps you have fibroids along with the PCOS, they are able to cut the blood supply off to the fibroids and shrink them, then remove them without much surgical intervention. You are still in your child bearing years and it would be wrong for them not to at least check since you have noticed a difference in your periods. Hoping that it is nothing like I dealt with. 🤗

You keep saying that your issue is not important, but it is important. There are still other health issues other than covid that need to be addressed. This is your health and it is important. We as women need to be scanned at least every 12 months. This is ridiculous that he mentioned you were scanned 5 years ago, literally can't believe this. I am happy that your issue has been resolved. Good luck with you scan 🤞

I think in general you should change your GP even just to a different one within the practice. I know its totally different but i was getting like 14 infections and my gp just kept giving me anti biotics it was driving me mad and scaring me that i was building up a resistance to them aswell. My friend suggested i get a 2nd opinion and he just sat with a blank page and said right tell me everything and then said u need to see an ENT specialist asap and finally I got sorted. I think these people are kinda intimidating and you feel like you cant ask. It was so simple but yet i just thought i couldnt and my gp was useless wish I'd dont it years ago. Hope you get sorted x

Please make a formal complaint about that doctor... The scan can rule out very serious things as well as give the doctor a formal diagnosis so it makes treatment easier, i don't see why they haven't referred you to a gynecologist!
i had such severe periods from the age of 10 i had to have a hysterectomy when i was 32 so i completely understand what you are talking about! you are so right about women that say about their periods being bad and then seeing them REALLY active that is also how i feel about people that say they have migraines but are on social media saying they have a bad migraine lol! I hope you can have the holiday's without your period. I used to book my holidays around my cycle so there was no chance of me being on while i was away, so by booking it on the tail end of my period meant the day of travel i could have a bit of spotting and the first day of the actual holiday would be nothing so i got no period bloating and two clear weeks of my best health as ovulation brought pain, bloating and migraines ... see what the result of the scan is and then ask to be put under the care of a consultant gynecologist as they have more specialist knowledge. I have known my gynecologist for years and we are on first name terms, she has done a number of operations on me and treated my comfort seriously and i want that for you too .. wishing you the best of luck with getting your health sorted xxx

I had such a similar experience with my GP and getting treatment (not PCOS related) and signed up to BUPA healthcare. Best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve had all scans and treatments sorted within a month. Whenever I have one thing, the next thing is booked for the same week. Definitely recommend going private, can’t put a price on health xxx

I was concerned i have PCOS and my doctor immediately booked me in for a blood test and ultrasound without question (my doctor is a woman so maybe that helped). the guy who did my ultrasound though said he didn't think i had PCOS even though there were little folics on my ovaries and they've basically said it's not a major concern now because i'm not looking to get pregnant :/

It's ok having pains and heavy flows during periods but when it reaches the point where you literally can't exist its absolutely not ok. I always thought that medicine in Europe and Uk are not paying enough attention to the health problems. Women's health must be seriously taken as we bring new lives in to this world, I think it worth it.

Hey girl... maybe it will be worth talking to a functional medicine practitioner ... they look into the root cause of the issue not just giving you things to mask your symptoms .... also look into castor oil packs which helps with pcos etc ... maybe give up sugar, dairy and gluten to fix your period but obviously look into it before hand
