I have been following this guitar and the SC 500 II which as you know is more LP like. I was due a guitar purchase in July and now here it is August. I am still undecided. Thanks for the video.
Thanks man ! Those Teslas are a really good surprise indeed. I've had news about a potentiel replacement of Roswell pickups and I will make a dedicated video to talk about it these days :)
Harley Benton SC-500 BK Vintage Series Bundle or Harley Benton ST-20HSS Standard SBK Bundle budget around 2000 to 3000 hkd which one should i buy🤔 pls recommand other packs?🙏 for my band usually i plays rocks like gods know and teenspirts and only got 10 years expirence on acoustic
I will not be able to help you a lot about the bundles, I can only tell you that their softcases are interesting but I haven't tried the other accessories. The SC-500 will sound close to a lespaul when the ST 20 HSS will be brighter. For rock tones, both will be ok, it just depends upon you and if you prefer a sound with more low end or more high end. You've just gotta know that the frets on the ST-20 HSS are a bit narrow.
Hi there, 1) So the weight is 3,9 in comparison with the one with passive pickups. I wonder if it is because of the electronics only or for the fact that the weight varies slightly from piece to piece of the same make. 2) Would you recomend HB active over passive for non-metal genres like contemporary worship music, country, pop, jazz, folk-rock (i mean quite a lot of clean tone, but not only) or is it rather a useless upgrade? 🤔 Thanks man 🙂
Hi ! This SC Custom III active is 1.5mm thicker than the SC Custom III passive I have reviewed but, again, I really think this is a final prototype. I could easily play funky riffs with this axe, active PU sound really good for this. If you roll the tone off on the neck pickup by 1/3 or a half, you've got a very nice tone for bluesy leads. Now, I never play Jazz or country or folk rock so I cannot tell if it would sound good or not and I never give advices about things that I don't know :)
I think I would be tempted to go for some hice alnico v pickups for the genres you mention. I have a Squier with 3x alnico pickups and they sparkle for clean tones but I can also get some great overdriven distorted tones out of them too. Check out the Fender Pugilist Distortion pedal; it has a great articulated tone IMO.
Thanks for your review, I bought a SCIII, I want to change the plastic nut, I thought about a Göldo Zero Glide, but I do not know which model to choose, perhaps it would be more appropriate to choose a Tusq nut, in this case the choice of model is even more complicated. What do you think?
I'd love to get some Harley's to review, but in the states its basically the used market. So I don't know how fare of a review it could be. Great guitar 😎🤙
@@JD-vj4go Prices are same, but probably better if you need to return.I just did a review of squire debut tele and am out the shipping for now until they reimburse cause I had to buy through Germany Amazon.
The thickness is the same. The profile on the SC-Custom III is a modern C, very close to what you would find on Schecter guitars. But when I move from my LTD to this Benton, I don’t feel a big change.
Looking at the SC-Custom (Passive) Purple's images: The hardware is chrome. The background is black an in some pictures it's reflecting tha black background, which is an effect when shooting reflecting metal parts. You can see this in pretty much all of Thomann's guitar images with chrome hardware, even if it's a Fender guitar or something like that.
Hello mate. Like promised, i'm here to watch your video about the Active Pickups version of the guitar, for recording Punk/Metal 😊. I was going to ask you about: would you recommend me the Passive or Active Version?, but... After you played that Hi Gain Rhythm on the passive and said "it's not bad..." And then on this Active you said " Woooow", i think that it tells the whole story and what the obvious choice is 😂. So, Active version it is 👍, gonna buy it in Black 😊. Thanks a lot for the reviews mate, very helpful 👍. For being so cool, you earned yourself a new subscriber 😉😊. Take care 💪
@@ToroKchannel Yeah i figured that your choice would be obvious by your Wooooow reaction on this guitar 😊. Hopefully i will love it!, just by looking at the design i was already in love 😊. You're welcome man 😉
@@ToroKchannelHey man, just got the new guitar Harley Benton Custom 3 Active in Black and Love It!!! Great Sound, Beautiful and Comfortable to play with! Thanks a lot for the feedback 😊. I already posted a small video with it today doing the Cover of the chorus of the new Linkin Park song 😊, you're welcome to watch it if you like 😊. Thanks again and keep up the good work 💪
I need to compare the Tesla Active pickups with the EMG Hot 70 that are coming with the Custom Plus. But at first feel, I would go for the Custom III active cos' it's great and it's 100€ cheaper than the Custom Plus
@@ArgothOfficial I do clearly recommend it since I have bought it for myself :) Tesla active pickups sound really good and it looks like the magnets are good quality.

Thanks for the video.
What makes you undecided ?
I didn't think I would like the white finish, but I seem to be drawn to it. I am very interested in a pickup comparison on this guitar.
I will do it, I've got everything I need to do it :)
Great video as allways
Thanks !
in this case i prefer the tesla active PUs. very interesting comparison, thanks!

Hi! Just the review I needed, Thanks! Would you pick this over the LTD EC-256 (499€)?
Thanks :) Yes I would pick this Sc Custom III over the LTD. It plays as good as the LTD, the pickups are amazing and it’s just 319€.

What do you think?
Whenever I change a nut, I always go fot Graph Tech. I think the 6060-00 should fit in this one.
Hey is the SC custom III with 24 frets suitable for shredding on the high frets, like past the 15th fret?
As I mention and show in the video, this guitar lets you access the 24th fret very easily so yes, you can shred comortably with the Sc Custom III :)

They have a US store on reverb now the stock isn't as good as the full site though.

If you compare neck profile and thickness with ESP LTD EC, is it different or pretty much same?
The thickness is the same. The profile on the SC-Custom III is a modern C, very close to what you would find on Schecter guitars. But when I move from my LTD to this Benton, I don’t feel a big change.
@@ToroKchanneldo you think there's a huge difference between this guitar and the ec-1000?
really want this for lefty version :( i dont want to spend 900-1000 for a epiphone custom....
Pretty sure they will do it but I don't know when.

If you are right, then Thomann's description is wrong !
Please tell me how much weight this guitar sir
Mine is 3,9 kgs. I have reviewed a SC Custom III passive that was 3,3 kgs so ig you order one, it should be in this range.
@@ToroKchannel by now I borrow my friends guitar, Sc400. Its very nice sound. Will save my money to buy it.
