Well I had both in my hands and I have asked myself the same question as you do. Eventually, I have returned the Assault Plus. The Floyd Rose is potentially better on the Plus, the Seymour Duncan pickups might have a slightly better note definition than the stock Kramer pickups on the Assault 220, but I was really surprised at how good the 220 is. I love the way it sounds and feels and eventhough you have a satin neck on the Assault Plus, and eventhough I'm a sucker for purple guitars, well I've still got my Assault 220 and no regret :)

Salut ! LE son que tu vas avoir sur la 256 n'est pas trop porté sur les graves, donc il faudra tester ton Drop C, et si tu le peux, monter un peu la présence sur ton ampli. Sinon, oui, le SH6 ou même le SH4 seront très bien sur un accordage grave car, en effet, si les micros envoient trop de basses en mi standard, ce sera très moche en drop C. Sinon, je te confirme que l'accès en haut du manche est bien meilleur sur la Viper que sur la EC-256 ! J'espère que ça t'aide :)

Oui carrément merci de ta réactivité. Sinon j ai vu qu ils avaient sorti un nouveau modèle comme Celui là mais en 22 frettes en acier inoxydable. Qu en est t'il des frettes sur celle ci ont elles bien vieillis ?

Sinon je suis allé voir ta vidéo qui est réservé exclusivement à cette guitare et c'est vrai qu en drop D elle sonne bien gras un peu avec une tonalité à la Lamb of god à voir si je ne la garderai pas pour du Mi Standard ou drop D si les micros font bien le taf

@@jonasbutseraen6752 Sur les LTD, les frettes vieillissent très bien car elles sont larges et hautes, et de bonne qualité. Même en jouant tous les jours, t'es tranquille pour un moment. Sans compter que, d'après ce que je vois sur le site EPS, les frettes inox sont toujours réservées aux séries 1000. Pas le même budget !

@@jonasbutseraen6752 Oui, en Drop D avec un tirant 010-052, ça sonne sans problème. Et encore, la vidéo que j'avais faite à l'époque était avec mon ancien matos et des réglages perfectibles. Sur mon PRS MT-15 avec un cab SIM mesa Oversized, ça sonne propre, tranchant et ça ne bave pas du tout. Par contre, j'ai pas testé le drop C avec ces micros là.

The S by Solar is an interesting guitar if you have a mod project in mind. The tuners need to be replaced, so is the nut, and you will have to shield the electronic cavity - if you di it by yourself, it will take some time, and you ask a luthier to do it, it will cost you around 90€. The Omen is ready to go : grounded, shielded, good tuners, no problem with tuning stability and the pickups are made in collaboration with Seymour Duncan so they're really very good. SO it really depends upon what you wanna do after buying the guitar :)

@@ToroKchannel good question. they are the effects that some people need because a guitar and amp are not enough. some musicians do use them to great effect, however, from what I've see over the last 40-something years of playing is that cats forget how to actually play. hows that?

@@joeypinterrockandroll3961 I see your point, but I don't concerned. I'm using an OD pedal, an amp head, some vitual cabs cos' I basically don't have room for a real 4X12 ans just a bit of reverb. So I think I can correctly demo a guitar, do I ?

@@ToroKchannel hey, i'm happy to talk about gear anytime with anyone. i tottly understand your point about not having the room for recording amps that push air. I recorded all my guitar parts fo a record I did using a POD Line 6 modeller because I was living in an apartment in LA. I can understand needing an OD where you can mic the amp where one can not get away with recording a guitar at 100Db. I also understand that some cats like the "sound" some effects give. but to me, relying on many H.M.B's for everything takes away from the naturally sounding guitar and amp. a few years ago I was guitar shopping in Santa Monica and the sales guy couldn't understand why I didn't want to use something between the guitar and amp. this was a very cool store where you go into a room full of amps by myself and really play. whoever this cat was couldn't understand what my "problem" was. I'll tell you one thing, I wish I had the money I spent on box's in the 1980s. thanks for talking to me.

I think the pickups in the LTD will be better for this kind of heavy stuff, but as far as the playability goes, it will be a draw. The benton might have a little advantage if you intend on shredding cos it doesn't have a neck heel. 2 very good guitars anyway !

I personally preferred the Het Set, followed by the 81/60 then the BB. Sorry, Kirk!

Thanks for this info, I have never heard about thiss brand. They look very young, they've got less than 40 followers on FB ! They say they're making guitars for metal players so I guess they deserve me to try one of their axes ;)

As I mention and show in the video, this guitar lets you access the 24th fret very easily so yes, you can shred comortably with the Sc Custom III :)

I think I need to explain why I chose the EC-401 instead of the EC-1000. The specs on the EC-401 are very very close to the Sc Custom III active : grover tuners that are not locking tuners, EMG 81/60 that are technically close to the Tesla Active pickups, and a difference of price that already is important but not crazy. On the SC-1000 you've got stainless steel frets that are not the same as on the Harley Benton - and maybe that's worth analyzing - locking tuners and, eventhough you've still got EC-1000 with EMG 81/60, you've also got Fishman Fluence and it looks like most customers who want active pickups are going there. Not even talking about the 27 different variations you have ion the EC-1000 (finishes, pickups, evertune bridge or FR and so on) the difference of price is huge. As I'm writing this comment, the cheapest EC-1000 I could get is a B-stock EC-1000 vintage black with EMG 81/60 and I'm not even sure this one is coming with stainless steel frets cos' it's not specified. So I see your point, and maybe in time I will go for the EC-1000, but as I'm reading the comments I realize many people would like to see the EC-401.

Oui, je confirme que c'est une dinguerie ! Je pense qu'ils vont assez vite sortir une version gaucher, mais n'hésite pas à leur demander directement : tu vas sur le site harley benton ( harleybenton.com ), tu vas tout en bas dans contact, et tu leur envoie un mail (de préférence en anglais) pour demander la version active en gaucher. Ils te répondront :)
