      I'm very interested in these cameras. Does the camera COME with NDI? Or do you have to license it after the fact? I only ask because I bought 3 Panasonic CX-350 cameras (specifically for their NDI/HX support), but you had to license the NDI for, like, $250 after the fact.
      Also... did you buy a controller for the PTZ cam?
      Thanks in advance for your response.

    Awesome conversation below with AVKANS. During some research in the summer of 2022, I found a discrepancy and mentioned it on this TH-cam video. AVKANS saw my note and had a conversation with me below.
    Summer 2022:
    A key thing that I found in my research. The FoMaKo camera sends it's inputted audio down all three video out methods, SDI, HDMI, and NDI. A popular competitor to FoMaKo, AVKANS, only outputs audio down HDMI and NDI, no SDI audio down the line. This is crucial for anybody who wants to insert the mixed audio down the camera path under an SDI workflow.

    Besides $200 what is the difference between NDI and w/o NDI equipped cameras. Is it only streaming of video over the ethernet cable or PTZ controls also. Can I control a non NDI PTZ camera over the network? I would like to buy the non NDI FoMaKo PTX camera and a network controller for the camera. Or maybe I can just use the remote to control it until I can afford a network based PTX controller. Does the FoMaKo remote let you setup presets?
    Thanks for the time you have put into these videos.

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no real difference. In the price you are paying the licence fee for the NDI standard that the camera maker has to pay. Sometimes they have to put a little more memory in the camera for NDI to work right, but that isn't required for anything else.

      Yes the zoom is slow. I believe there are actually two zooms in the remote, slow and fast. But I might be remembering that wrong. Both the default zoom and pan speed is selectable. So you can make it slow if you like.

    Hey. Sorry I do have the NDI version now of this. Basically if you are powering through NDI you will require some sort of POE switch for this device? For some reason I had in mind that I could power through my ethernet on the laptop but I don't think this is the case.
    This will be mounted about 15 ft in the air in a large hall, with 75 ft ethernet running back to main audio area via conduit. I will need to put in a little POE switch to run power to this device and then run single ethernet from the switch back to laptop? The laptop is running live stream on OBS via WiFi at this time as it is only about 15 ft away from router in closet next to audio table.
    Thanks.

  • @ryannrjohnson
    @ryannrjohnson ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick question: If I purchase 2 of these NDI cameras will I need to connect 2 hdmi cables to run to our Atem Mini Pro ISO or can I just run one to a single camera since they can talk to each other over ethernet and be able to change camera feed with the controller just using one HDMI channel in the Atem? The 3 PTZ cameras we use at one of the churches I play for doesn’t have NDI so this will be a little new to me. Even though I’m sure I can figure it out I just wanted to know in advance if that’s a possibility.

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately ATEM does not support NDI on the ATEM Mini Pro. So you'll need to run HDMI to each camera, so in your case both. If you only intend to use them with your ATEM you can actually skip the NDI model and save yourself a couple bucks.

    • @alzyerpal-TV
      @alzyerpal-TV 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You could run a single cable/NDI then extract HDMI from a dedicated NDI to HDMI decoder, taking a short cable feed into the Atem. It lets you do longer cable runs which standard HDMI cables can't support much beyond about 25-30ft. That said, I tend to use fibre optic HDMI runs of up to 100ft.
