I know the Citadel is a scary card, but Joel would eventually run out of life to pay, while Muddstah would never run out of mana and cards.
It's not the worst play to make. I have a well-deserved reputation at my lgs for having decks that can go off out of nowhere. Miguel, having never seen my Chainer deck before this game, feared the worst and focused on me from the start. So I don't think Miguel necessarily made a bad choice in destroying my Citadel. Because I think the choice is up to Chainer's controller (which was Miguel at this moment) and not Chainer's owner (which was Joel).
No, the choice was mine to make, not Miguel's. The only way you cna send someone else's commander to the graveyard is if you are in control of their turn, through things like Mindslaver or Emrakul. That allows you to make decisions for them. But any time a Commander changes zones, the owner decides whether or not to send it to the command zone.

@@MTGMuddstah it might, but there's a lot of token effects that create great tokens that you can't keep. It is also cheaper than populating most of the time. I'm the end it's actually better to have both the original and the populate token and this is a cheapand easy way to pull it off
@@MTGMuddstah also, it's a counterspell on your turn that's not blue, you sacrifice the rest of your turn, but worthy in a lot of circumstances. It's actually a really underrated card. If you don't use it for trostani then definitely use it with ghired because the red token cards usually don't let you keep the token. Even better is you can use the ability at the end of your turn when all the end of turn abilities go on the stack.
...maybe Reservoir should've been sorcery speed only. Still strong especially in decks that go off on their own turn, but just a small hindrance to going hog wild.
Trostani gives healing, it's not that similar to the new populate deck, I don't see why one would shift from one to the other just because they share the populate mechanic.
Honestly considering shifting my Ghired back to Trostani as I leave the read and what it can offer but hate the fact I have to attack with him. Honestly he's more fair and forces interaction and I think that the plan from Trostani Non-token tokens doesn't implant well into Ghired.
After seeing this REALLY go off, I know now why you don't switch to Naya. Trostani isn't necessarily a "token" deck. Yes it has the word populate on it, but the deck's design isn't solely on the hands of "making tokens". Any of the tokens you DO make are important ones, or ones that make tokens themselves. Angel of Sanctions being populated after embalming is sweet tech for an instant speed O-Ring. Bramble Sovereign MAKES tokens you want. Blade of Selves makes a token copy of whatever you want, and then before moving out of the Combat step, you can populate to make a permanent token copy. Helm of the Host (where IMO is over costed for the effect), is very strong if you can get two Trostani's out. Mimic Vat lets you turn any of your ETB creatures into a token and get extra value out of them. While the deck HAS "tokens", its not the ONLY way the deck functions. Much like my Karlov of the Ghost Council deck, it can switch gears quickly when it needs to. Need an army? Make lots of tokens! Need life? Play big creatures! Life gain is a means of "staying alive", but isn't necessarily the win con all of the time. Much like tokens isn't the only way to win, you have an alternative way of winning other than just swinging in. Ghired, Conclave Exile is more designed FOR tokens specifically. Red has allot of "make a token, sac it at EOT" effects, but it is more so dedicated to an attack opponents deck. You also HAVE to attack to populate, as opposed to Trostani where you can wait till EOT to do it. Adding another color also adds consistency issues IMO. Even in green for land fixing, 3 colors can really hamper your ability to cast spells on curve. Finding the balance of "tokens" to "non-tokens" gets harder and harder when you realize how many ways red has to make tokens, but the only way to really populate constantly is to attack with them
I believe EVERY time I've seen a Trostani on this channel, the player has gotten Panharmonicon.
One thing I've learned from your Trostani deck. You let the Ulvenwald Hydra live for more than like 1 turn, shit is about to get REALLY unpleasant.
...maybe Reservoir should've been sorcery speed only. Still strong especially in decks that go off on their own turn, but just a small hindrance to going hog wild.
Trostani gives healing, it's not that similar to the new populate deck, I don't see why one would shift from one to the other just because they share the populate mechanic.
WOW!!!! What a finish!!!!
That’s some wholesome gameplay
Love me some Trostani action
Honestly considering shifting my Ghired back to Trostani as I leave the read and what it can offer but hate the fact I have to attack with him. Honestly he's more fair and forces interaction and I think that the plan from Trostani Non-token tokens doesn't implant well into Ghired.
Awesome video
That trostani deck just wow
Trostani's lifegain is absolutely insane! I still have nightmares about her! 🤣
Talk to Chainer about those nightmares. ;)
Haha, love it! 😂

Holy SHIIIIIIITTTT
Finally you win a game
Love your deck (:
Im still here waiting for a game where you all play a goblin commander
You might be waiting awhile =(
@@MTGMuddstah yeah but I'll wait still lol
Finding the balance of "tokens" to "non-tokens" gets harder and harder when you realize how many ways red has to make tokens, but the only way to really populate constantly is to attack with them
This is exactly why I target trostani decks every freaking time
Mathilda stamp of approval!
She's kind of a diva now. She keeps trying to make guest appearances in my narration.
great ending
5:08 - random cat noise😅😂
I believe EVERY time I've seen a Trostani on this channel, the player has gotten Panharmonicon.
Meanwhile I've been playing my Mistform Ultimus deck for over 6 months and I have yet to draw, play, or even SEE my Docent of Perfection. 🤔🤔🤔 Seriously I was at the point where I had to go through my deck to make sure the card was even still in the 99.
Same with my own copy in my Inalla deck D: I only managed to draw and play it once! Last time I played with the deck I checked wether the card was still there or not xD
That win though 😂😂😂😂
Fantastic finish lol.
