As a Eugene native (born and raised till I was 23) this is probably one of the most accurate critiques of the city! You just forgot to mention the homeless camps and how easy it is to acquire heroin and meth

I grew up in Eugene/Springfield. Went to Malabon and Clearlake Elementary, Cascade middle school, and Springfield and Sheldon High school. Lots of memories. I miss it so bad. This was 35+ years ago...lol.

My favorite thing about Eugene is the tweakers walking backwards down the street drinking water. Reminds me to stay hydrated.

I've lived there several years and love the weirdness of it. There's a movie theater that used to be a church which also sells alcohol, weird drinking booze in what used to be a church. You have not lived until you've gone to Saturday market which is living the experience. There are so many hella cool things about this place i could post many pages

Growing up near Eugene I am extremely offended by this video. Of course I made sure to watch your video on how to be offended first so that I could be absolutely sure I would get offended while watching this video. It worked great 👍
I lived in Eugene 20 years ago and all I remember is that it rained 6 days a week for months.
Which isn't really enough
I always look forward to that 7th day of the week where it's just overcast and sprinkling outside instead of raining.
Climate change is taking the rain away slowly. But it snowed 11 inches in one night in February
@@Eclispestar Warmer climate does effect snowfall. But in regard to rain in fact at higher temperatures there is more evaporation, thus increasing the chance of heavy showers. The amount of rainfall a region gets comes mainly from geological factors. Eugene being near the ocean, but within a valley means the warm ocean air evaporates the water, then it cools traveling inland and lowers altitude getting trapped by the Cascades and settling into rainfall over the valley.
Unless the mountain range goes away or the ocean winds dramatically cool Eugene will always have heavy rainfall.

I think you would be surprised how many oversized Ford trucks are on the road in Eugene. All dirty diesels. We may be a town of hippies but surrounded by people who need to show off how high they can raise a F150

I live in Eugene. It has sucked sense about 2005-2010. Homeless people from all over the country ended up here because our cheap drugs and free food are common knowledge. If the meth dealers where smarter they could get away with charging double.

My favorite thing about Eugene is I-5. I can often be through and past Eugene in a matter of minutes unless traffic is blocked on the freeway by people smoking weed wrapped in mushroom caps.
