Some people say you have to fall off 1000 times to be a real horseperson. I think that's a bit much, but it does speak to the fact that it's a sport, it's hard, and sometimes it doesn't go as planned.
I'm so happy to see parents who didn't keep the camera in her face the whole time, instead Dad just ran to his kid to comfort her after the fall. And Ivy, it happens to us all, so don't let this make you too sad, you're an outstanding rider!
Okay, now I am shedding real tears. Not just because of the fall BUT in watching and hearing your Dad and Mum comfort their little STAR. What a Champion attitude you displayed and you have many successes forward . So proud of your sportsmanship and overcoming attitude. YOU ARE A SUPERSTAR 🌟.
My goodness this show was massive!!! All those people watching!!! Although I knew what was coming it still took my breath away and I have just sobbed my way through this! Bless you Ivy…I’m glad you weren’t physically hurt. Well done for being super brave. Remember how amazing you are! And there’s always the next event! Well done Mum and Dad for sharing this. Xxxxx
Ivy, you are a superstar!! Because every time you have faced a set back of any kind, you come back even stronger. Those events are the fires that are forging your strength as an equestrian extraordinaire! I know how disappointing it can be but you are such a great example to other young riders coming along (even at your young age). You are amazing girl and don't you forget it!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ivy love, remember this.. When less than 24 hours after your disappointment you are focusing on schooling over 1.10 fences on Gem.... that speaks volumes about your character. Nothings going to stop you from being the best you can be. That is what makes you so very special. ❤❤👌🙌🙌💪💪🤗🤗
Watching this as a mother made me well up. What a brave girl you are Ivy! Your parents must be so proud of you. Keep at it and it will all make sense! Xxx
Ivy you taught me something or rather your mother did. We learn from our mistakes and that way we can go on and learn from them and do better. You are a great rider and there is no one else that's going to tell me different. I am so proud of you
Awww Ivy bless you Love how dad came to the rescue to make you feel better Chin up and when your ready you’ll absolutely smash it the next time Falls happen that’s part of riding as long as You and Gem are physically ok and not hurt that’s all that matters
Could tell the tension was high .. it’s a big show … for you both . Gem was fired up. Ivy you rode so well , you got her back which was amazing.. you are a brilliant rider on a fired up pony … looking forward to the next clear ❤ and to see your smile 😊
You did great you can’t always win but you are awesome, amazing, talented, great, beautiful, brilliant you are so good don’t let anyone ore anything get in the way of you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
God Bless you all I cried when I heard Ivy crying what a strong little girl, I could tell Mom and Dad were a great comfort, and Ivy got back on, such a star for sure
Bless you Ivy, sending big hugs, the atmosphere was electric and wized Pony up. You did the lap of honour big respect. Don't look back, look forward to many happy years ahead. ❤
The BEST education in life we have is learning by our mistakes, and, every day is a ‘school day’ - even in my adult life. So just move forward Ivy with positivity and courage ! xx
I’m sitting here (in Denmark) a grown woman with tears all over my face, and that’s because Ivy, you are so very real. You are a real horsegirl, but more importently a real girl - and I haven’t been able to find anyone just as “real” on social media as you. I love watching your real entusiasmen, your joy, and your love fore horses, it makes me want you to succeed. but real humans fail, they cry, get dissapointed and sometimes scared, but it is also these far from perfect moments, that you and your family so generously share, that makes me relate to you as a human, and make me want you to succeed with whatever you do even more - horserelated or not. The best to you Ivy, and thank you.
Oh Ivy I am so sorry, I had tears in my eyes, u had an awesome first jump, and u had such amazing courage to come back for the victory lap, u will never forget this moment, not as a bad one but as a very valuable learning experience. U work sooooo hard and have accomplished so many amazing things and will continue too! U will crush em’ next time! Keep going Ivy, never give up on ur dreams! Love from 🇺🇸
Message to ivy: It’s okay Ivy I did the same on my first comp I fell off and went flying off into the fence I sat there wishing my life I haven’t embarrassed myself But I realised get up do it again in a couple weeks or months. It’s never yours or the horses fault! I wish u look next time and wishing your Life time. I am going go now but honestly I would never forget abt it. After a few weeks I found it funny! 🤣 Hoping u can Win more and remember this comment. Take care
So happy to see you fall. Safely. It means you are getting better and riding a little above your ability will always be the fastest and possibly the most dangerous way to the top. Congratulations on being awesome young lady.
Ivy, we all fall at something and you inspire me more to want to get back to my riding! The most important part is you, your horse are not hurt and you got back in that saddle that day!
I am so glad you weren’t hurt Ivy! You are an amazing rider. Falls happen. You learn from them. Every time I have fallen, I have learned from it. My old pony spooked at her reflection in a mirror when I was training for a dressage show, and she bolted. Once she realized she wasn’t going to die, she “hit the breaks” and I went right over her shoulder. I landed pretty hard on my left shoulder and got right back up for a few minutes until I realized I needed to take a break for a week until I felt better. I learned to not take Pippa near mirrors if there were young riders on her. I myself was a little older than you when that happened. I bought my first horse three months ago, and my first time ACTUALLY cantering him (not just test ride) he threw me off. I learned that he was uncomfortable because he needed a half pad, and I didn’t even realize until I got thrown. You did great. Don’t worry about falling, because it’s going to happen. Yes, it stinks, but you are an amazing young lady. ❤❤❤
Awe Ivy it’s okay, you still got a ribbon! I didn’t do well at finals either, I had a trip over a fence and I refused a jump in the medals, you still won in my heart!❤
o, Ivy! You did that so well - you can fly! and ride with grace! Not everyone can fly so well. Someday... you will be like Tinkerbell and learn to love the flying! The landing is rarely fun but to have a magnificient lift and flight - even for just a moment can be great fun! You are beautiful, strong, brave and so very talented. Keep going - you are living a million little girls dream for them... Keep up the great work. You Ivy or our hero! Thank you for sharing the good and bad and the funny and sad. Loads of us will never be able to touch a horse ever! Even more will never be able to sit on a horse - no matter how much we want it. Just think! You are living the dream! Love ya Ivy! Have fun! Don't sweat the small stuff - remember... it's all small stuff in the end.
The fall and tears are heartbreaking but wow the rest is so heartwarming. The great support from the parents and other people, getting back on her pony and just going back to being an amazing duo and go for it during the lap of honour. As a ‘ponybreeder’ these are the kids you hope your foals ends up with.
Ohh ivy. I am older than you and taller and i still look up to you. I know its hard knowing you have work YEARS for that and you fell but its ok i was crying know how long it took u to get there but you must live on and get back on and forgive the past your perfect of all ur ways and its ok you can come back. Dont give up we love you keep working hard and hared we love and support you ^RIDE ON LEGANED!^ your kined comes onec in amillon years
Ivy-i don’t even know where to begin. I’m soooo proud of you, you’re soooo strong holy! Every time I watch you I have a heart attack, you’re so tiny and sooo amazing! But my opinion on her will never change. It’s not her it’s just. She’s sooo tiny and so precious, one wrong fall and her world could change forever. I can’t even with how brittle she is. I mean I’ve seen hell and felt hell with horses as a teenager, so I can’t even imagine what ivy would and could feel if she were to have one mishap. I know I can’t change anything, but this is for the viewers out there. Not to mention just how strong her pony is, man she fought like hell through that corner.
Hi again So relieved you're OK IVY and looking forward to your next event. You have the heart of a champion no matter. Stuff just happens sometimes and it's how we go forward and the choices we make. So get excited and happy for your next time and get ready to GovFly again! Hugs to your wonderful Mom and Dad and sweet Gem...
Aww! This video was a good example of supportive parents with their young daughters talent! Ivy, you're so brave! All the best....hugs. 🤗❤. There will be many, many, more great rides your way!
I hope you are ok. You are a wonderful, brave and positive young rider who will go far. It is a joy to see the love and connection you have with your pony and horse.
oh Ivy. I jumped instinctively out of my seat. All I wanted to do was to pick you up, dust you off and tell you everything was alright. but lucky you, you have your Dad and Mum to do that. Your pony was so excited, Ivy, don't lose your trust. It just happened. You're just 8. All your ponies love you. This was just not your day. It happens to the best of the best. So chin up, Never blame your pony and know that you Can. Think about it, smile and move forward. Every good wish.
Aww 😢 ivy it was going soo well but it’s okay love and lots of love to you ivy I really hope you are okay xx. We all send you love and it doesn’t matter anymore and it happened but it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to do it again ❤❤
I'm glad I'm not the only one crying 😢😂😂... Ivy is so cute and brave and yes she won't forget this, but I bet.my bottom dollar she won't do it again there ❤❤.... pony needs to have a gallon of calmers before hand 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Aww Ivy you are amazing 🤩 I'm 40 yrs old and have been riding longer than you have been alive, I still aspire to be as good a rider and owner as you. Keep being you, you amaze me 😊 xx
Oh my gosh this makes me cry not because of the fall because how her dad just ran over he is the best dad ou coud ever have keep trying ivy you are doing grade and never give up I did after a fall and now I am getting back into it and I don’t want that to happen never give up❤❤❤
Oh Ivy my little little Iam so sorry you got unseated. I am super super super happy you are not hurt though I am sure your pride took a tumble. Speed brings new challenges to you and your mount, its called upping the game and before you can master it you will have moments such as this. Know that Glammom feels your pain intensely even from across an ocean. Im with you on every fence you jump in spirit. God bless you wee one XOXOXO!!
O sweetie I felt that one for you. Sometimes we win and sometimes we don't. Your mum and dad though supporting there little superstar. And I must say we've all hit the ground at some point but you did it with style. It's one setback, and you'll look back on this when you're older and think wow. The crowd cheered you on as well when you fell. You're really a little superstar. 🥰🥰 xxx
Positive: you are a young lady that easily conversates with adults.......you learn something new each event......(agree that this was a hard one to learn, but you did it!)............you and Gem, Curly Q, Troy Boy, Ace, Evil Mouse have a relationship that you will treasurewhen you are old................your Mom and Dad are there for you, in goid times and bad..........you are stronger than you think....Rock on Ivy girl!
Oof. Tough tumble on such a public stage. You are a champ, Ivy. Your horses too. It hurts. No way around it. And still, there you are, living to ride and jump again. Can't wait to see what's next for you. Years from now that rosette will be more memorable than many of the others because of the hard lessons learned. All the good riding vibes headed your way from central Ohio, USA.
Oh dear Ivy so sorry that was a good flying lesson brave girl back up again. Hope you weren't hurt. Here's a get better and you can do this everytime you get up you get stronger and braver. I feel so proud of you for your braveness well done you are a star
oh ivy I hope your ok! Looks like a bad fall, but at least you didn't break a bone from it and I hope you get better soon! I seen the yt short with you jumping Troy and your doing amazing. ❤️🩹
Bless your heart Ivy, you are a fabulous rider and have SUCH a spirited (and gorgeous!) pony, this is just one day and one show and you will look back and learn from it. Sounds like your family is very supportive and encouraging, and I love to see it... we always joke at our barn, you aren't really an equestrian until you have fallen off, and I personally feel like any competition that you bomb in, you learn from. I got a 50% the first time I did an Intro A dressage test, and almost fell off too, but I learned so much from that day and you will appreciate this learning experience too. Best of luck at your next show!!
Ivy, this can't be your worst day. It looks like you and Gem. Was having maybe a little bit of a hard day then you normally have. I think I know you. Give you 5-10 minutes and you'll be back on a horse jumping away. 😊. You have to remember that you're so much younger than the other riders. How much younger?
All the top riders have had a moment in their life when they've fallen of at a show and they are like 30 years older then you. Your a great little rider and I hope you do better at London. Best of look on your journey
Hey Ivy, not a disaster, you were good enough to be asked to compete at an amazing venue in front of a huge crowd, and it was just unfortunate, you wouldn't be the first and you certainly won't be the last to have a fall there, be proud of yourself and Gem, you have great support from mum and dad and you will be out competing successfully soon, as long as you aren't hurt and Gem is ok you are winners 🎉❤ xx
ivy, you are amazing but bad days happen but you will do it again next year. So proud of you getting to gys and keep doing you. You're an inspiration to everyone. xx
Awwww bless you ivy. It gets very busy at the Yorkshire show, so many people, noises, animals. So much going on. I went there on Friday. Bit overwhelming for you, 1st big show like that, but it’s all a learning experience, and I’m sure you’ll be doing a big show again. Well done for competing ivy. Gem had a rocket under her that’s for sure. Was lovely that they gave you a rosette for taking part. The commentator was quite sweet too ❤💖
Oh noes! That looked like a disaster waiting to happen from the start. Poor Ivy, she did look very nervous and overwhelmed, not at all like the happy, confident, technically correct rider we are used to. And Gem was very un-Gem-like! But it's all ok Ivy! You are already amazing and every bad experience will only make you even better!
Ivy, darling, you didn't let anyone down. Not even a little bit. It takes courage to go out there every time and do what you do. Sometimes it doesn't always go the way we'd like. but you got right back up there and that's what counts. Next time you'll get them.
Ivy, you are a very brave young lady. You want to be perfect every time. You try so hard. In a couple of years your will be the senior rider someone else be the beginner you going to have the best story to tell about your first time. Please hug gem tonight. Remember Gem loves you.
When I was your age I ate so much “dirt” I could not keep my seat on a horse that would rear. I learned but still would fall. I once went over a jump to only fall and my foot was caught in the stirrup so I was holding on to the horses neck while he was just running wild. That was a fun one 😂
Ivy you so brave we all have fulls but them fulls makes us stronger them fulls make us a rider we all humans we all have bad days but remember bad days make us stronger and make us brave I love watching ur videos I hope to watch you grow riding bigger horses and hope to meet u at these shows u got back on and went back into that show u so strong and ur dad awesome he melted my heart tellling u it’s okay as he right and his hug was wonderful xxx
Being overawed by a big occasion can bring on the nerves. In think even Gem felt it. You are so young Ivy with so many years in front of you. Every misstep, fall and fault only adds to the learning process. Just remember you have wonderful parents who love you so much. You have so many fans both young and old who love you so much. Your ponies love you so much. Write this day off to experience. One day you will look back on it and chuckle. Onward and upward darling Ivy. You have the head and heart of a true champion and tomorrow belongs to you.
The last time I fell off a horse I was told "your thud was very loud!" (tailbone and back of head! OUCH!) Thankfully most of the time we don't get hurt too badly, though we get discouraged, anxious about our next ride, embarrassed, worried, and at least a little sore. I'm glad you were all in one piece after this unfortunate bounce! Onwards and upwards!
Well done Ivy. You coped well with that crash 💥 they will happen from time to time and it’s just part of it. Really admire you for your bouncebackability ❤ xx
Agree. It was a big show alot of distractions. I think she was over whelmed maybe. She didn't seem her cheery self 😢. It's okay tho Ivy I already see your back up and jumped 1.10 now. Your such a great little rider and it happens to the best of us!
Oh darling Ivy it’s OK try not to be too disappointed…you are ok Gem Gem is ok - it’s hard but dust yourself off and there is always another time - this wasn’t your day but next time it will be 👍🏻you are a little trooper so don’t be too hard on yourself
Much like you Ivy i had my fall offs and spills from my pony and horse growing up. Back then it sure did not feel like a fun adventure in the making but now i look back on those moments it is much like a story book unfolding that it was not my final chapter in life, but just another turn the page moment just like Narnia or Lord of the Rings hobbit adventure! Now i crack up endlessly about my falls off the pony and horse and all the hilarious details of what happened that led up to it and soon after to then sharing that to others and hearing their wild stories to then we all get into a ego contest of who had the worse take the gold , trophy and all of who had the worse fall hahaha.
My daughter won both of her classes today, and her clients won all of their classes today too! Let me tell you there is learning experiences behind all those wins. This learning experience will make you better and better Ivy! That looks like a beautiful show to attend!
Sometimes we win, sometimes we learn. All the best equestrians have hit the ground learning…
Yep you are a wonderful little rider and pls don’t ever question that because u are AMAZINGGGGG and so strong.
Abloustly love this quote
Some people say you have to fall off 1000 times to be a real horseperson. I think that's a bit much, but it does speak to the fact that it's a sport, it's hard, and sometimes it doesn't go as planned.

Hope your alright you still did great
My goodness this show was massive!!! All those people watching!!! Although I knew what was coming it still took my breath away and I have just sobbed my way through this! Everyone has spills Ivy. Just remember to stay positive!! This is what makes champions!❤
I’m so sorry Ivie😢❤ I hop your better😢❤
Could tell the tension was high .. it’s a big show … for you both . Gem was fired up. Ivy you rode so well , you got her back which was amazing.. you are a brilliant rider on a fired up pony … looking forward to the next clear ❤ and to see your smile 😊
Absolutely couldn't say this better
Her legs weren't stable at all before the accident 😕
You did great you can’t always win but you are awesome, amazing, talented, great, beautiful, brilliant you are so good don’t let anyone ore anything get in the way of you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well done Ivy!! Everyone falls!!! Keep on going, your great. Have fun with your beautiful Pony💕
God Bless you all I cried when I heard Ivy crying what a strong little girl, I could tell Mom and Dad were a great comfort, and Ivy got back on, such a star for sure

Every body that puts hate onto ivy just remember that she is a young ride I love you ivy
🥰🥰 xxx
Bless u and ur parents Ivy! U were amazing, remember that.
hope you’re OK! ❤❤❤
You are okey😢
Your so brave! Your amazing ivy don't give up on your dreams you can do it ❤❤❤❤
Oh dear Ivy so sorry that was a good flying lesson brave girl back up again.
You can ride Lvy you are amazing❤❤❤❤❤
Champion . Ivy ❤ You guys are great parents . So glad your ok .great words
Oh ivy. You have so much raw talent. We all have these days, night up to the top of the sport. You are a little legend!!
Well done ivy I hope your ok you little superstar ❤❤
Ivy, darling, you didn't let anyone down. Not even a little bit. It takes courage to go out there every time and do what you do. Sometimes it doesn't always go the way we'd like. but you got right back up there and that's what counts. Next time you'll get them.
Ivy, you are a very brave young lady. You want to be perfect every time. You try so hard. In a couple of years your will be the senior rider someone else be the beginner you going to have the best story to tell about your first time. Please hug gem tonight. Remember Gem loves you.
I am in tears ❤❤❤❤ we love you Ivy
When I was your age I ate so much “dirt” I could not keep my seat on a horse that would rear. I learned but still would fall. I once went over a jump to only fall and my foot was caught in the stirrup so I was holding on to the horses neck while he was just running wild. That was a fun one 😂
💜 few tears again from me when I watched this but Ivy you were so brave and strong afterwards. ☑️💜♥️
The way her dad comforted her :’)
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤you well be okay have fun with your beautiful pony😊
I'm glad you're OK. There can't be highs without lows. And you've learned so much. Proud of you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not the sad music😂
The last time I fell off a horse I was told "your thud was very loud!" (tailbone and back of head! OUCH!) Thankfully most of the time we don't get hurt too badly, though we get discouraged, anxious about our next ride, embarrassed, worried, and at least a little sore. I'm glad you were all in one piece after this unfortunate bounce! Onwards and upwards!
What a little star you are and Mum and Dad are bigger stars for their positive attitude and support.
Well done Ivy. You coped well with that crash 💥 they will happen from time to time and it’s just part of it. Really admire you for your bouncebackability ❤ xx
Awww Ivy that happens, but think of all the runs you have done before this that have all been successful!!! Continue to strive onward ❤
We all need to see the upsets and joys of horsemanship. Despite your fall Ivy you got up on Gem and went back into the ring. That shows real courage.
To be fair she didn't look right from the very start of the video 🫤 I sm sure Ivy will be back at them 👍
Agree. It was a big show alot of distractions. I think she was over whelmed maybe. She didn't seem her cheery self 😢. It's okay tho Ivy I already see your back up and jumped 1.10 now. Your such a great little rider and it happens to the best of us!
Yea same here I just think she is a bit too young
Oh darling Ivy it’s OK try not to be too disappointed…you are ok Gem Gem is ok - it’s hard but dust yourself off and there is always another time - this wasn’t your day but next time it will be 👍🏻you are a little trooper so don’t be too hard on yourself
This made me cry 😢 Ivy you are so brave and strong so keep being brave and strong ❤❤
Ivy is soooooo precious beautiful child xxx she sooooo brave ❤️ ❤
She is quite the little rider. Very impressed 💖
Awwww ivy every single subscriber all know you can do it beliieve in yourself
Well done guys WELL DONE GEM 💎 👏 👍🏻
Aww I almost stopped the video short bc I got so emotional and I just wish I could give her I big hug poor girl I LOVE YOU IVY😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤❤
Focus on your next triumph. You got this!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My daughter won both of her classes today, and her clients won all of their classes today too! Let me tell you there is learning experiences behind all those wins. This learning experience will make you better and better Ivy! That looks like a beautiful show to attend!
