    The evolution of the Intruder continues. I love this, it's a terrific fly.

    Very nice Tim! These Trout Spey streamers are dynamite for smallmouth bass in the local rivers! I tie a crayfish version (a bit shorter with lead eyes and pinchers) that has become my go-to pattern.

    Thank you very much for your video -)> You have great taste for expensivive tools and material : I myself love those Partridge hooks. Afer all if they still are hand-made. Except because of having done field testing and writing about them, all of mine were free in 1990s. In the 70s their Wilson Dry Fly hooks needed testing before tying, Because they hadn't mastered Tempering? They would turn into a dressed "shank" !! But this is a thing of a past !

    That's a pretty funky hook - any reason why you chose the waddington shank over a traditional hook?

    Nice fly. Personally speaking, i like the way Jerry French attaches the tail to the swing hook using the braid with R L R loops around the hook then feeding the tail piece through the big loop. Then pulling tight the hook and tail. -The hook rides up or down...like yours...it’s replaceable. Nice tie!

    Where do you find the stinger hooks and the shanks? I’ve looked at my local fly shops and can’t find them there or at bass pro

    Would like to see how these flies actually look and behave in the water.

    When you specify "clockwise" spin for the rabbit loop, do you mean looking down from above or visualizing it from below?

    Do you only fish these with your spey rod or do you swing them with your single hand rod?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both. I actually do quite a bit of single hand spey as well, kind of a mix of the two. OPST Commando head on a 9 ft 5 wt.

    Love these flies. Polar chenille is great but just a little bit of rusty brown ice dub and some red/black barred Senyo's predator wrap in a composite loop gives a great gill flash.

    Could you please explain why excess weight would be bad? I get that this would be for swinging and ideally your sink tip would get the fly in the zone, but wouldn’t the extra action cause from the weight also be good?

    Nice job. Try composite loops. They aren't so hard. Plus you can use all those forgotten materials that are no doubt rotting in a drawer somewhere
