I started learning Welsh last year because I simply love Welsh culture, but this year learned that I actually have Welsh heritage! I’ve spoken to a friend about Eisteddfod with so much enthusiasm; as an American I am SO far away, but a dream of mine is to read poetry there some year. Might be a pipe dream-who knows! But DIOLCH for this beautiful tour! ❤️ You did such a wonderful job showing us around and explaining what everything is. (I have to get my hands on that barddas magazine!) It seems absolutely amazing.

Ardderchog, Galon Lan! Learning Welsh is an exciting journey, especially if, like you and me, we have Welsh heritage. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. There's a second one I shot at the Eisteddfod too up on the channel. Mae gan Barddas wefan: www.barddas.cymru/

Gwych! Grew up going to steddfods, competing in my first at our village steddfod in 1998 at 3 years old. Absolutely love it.
Great video - wonderful location. Hope to see you in Penllyn 2023!

Diolch am wylio! And thanks for the comment. Certainly hoping to be there in August.Tregaron last year was the first time back for me since Cardiff 2018. I shot a lot of Tregaron footage... but I haven't got round to editing it (trying to do too many different things!).

Diolch am hyn, Gareth - engaging, entertaining and informative as ever. I love your format, tracking your movements and even including meals; it really gives me the feeling I'm there. Also green with envy over your fluent Welsh; I'm still struggling horribly. I probably need to do something like - well, go to the Eisteddfod!

Thanks, Janet. The Eisteddfod is most certainly worth a visit. I'm planning a post all about it on the blog. I'll just stick up these vids there this week, then build out my thoughts and tips in the same post when I get chance. I can't make it there this year, I'm afraid.

I turned on subtitles just for fun and whe you were talking to the teen boys. It said "He wielded a cleric in a dress." Haaa! "It's Canadian coffee and a cat man." was a good one too.

shocking. how could one nation be so far ahead of the rest of the world, in this culture of the arts and music and poetry and literature??
