Plea Filed In Delhi HC Seeking PM Modi’s Disqualification From Elections

- A plea has been filed against PM Modi in the Delhi HC. This plea seeks disqualification of PM Modi from contesting elections. This petition has been filed by a lawyer over alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Lawyer Anand S Jondhale has referred to PM Modi’s speech in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit on April 9, where he has alleged that PM Modi sought votes in the name of ‘god and place of worship’, hindu deities and Hindu place of worships, and Sikh deities and Sikh place of worships. The plea in the Delhi HC seeks disqualification of PM Modi from contesting any elections for a period of six years. Lawyer Jondhale has argued that PM Modi violated the Model Code of Conduct in Compendium of Instructions. The provisions state that no candidate shall indulge in activity that creates mutual hatred or aggravates existing differences between different castes or communities, or religion or linguistics. The plea of Jondhale states that PM Modi said that has constructed the Ram Temple, developed the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, removed GST from materials used in Langars served in Gurudwaras and brought back copies of Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan.

A case of contempt of court would have been booked immediately had Rahul Gandhi or some opposition leader supported the electoral bonds scam even after the supreme court struck it down. Modi is above the law in the country. Adani is above the law in the country. Had it been some other business man holding more than two ports, he would have been for violating the regulations of ports. Modi has done several offences - indifferent to Manipur violence, giving Raphael contract to inexperienced businessman taking away from HAL, inauguration of the parliament building like a king's palace, inciting violence with hate speeches during election campaigns, selectively using law enforcement agencies on opposition parties and blocking investigation the moment they join BJP or NDA, and many more.
