Hondas' CX 500 was widely used by courier's back then and renowned for its reliability and high mileage

This AI is nothing more than 'shit in-shit out" My brother swears on the Honda with it's high mileage and dependability. Most of this shit is just regurgitated from drunks in the local pub

AMF used HD's antiquated tooling to make the Shove. At the same time they brought in modern CNC machinery, modernized the plant and started development of the EVO. Any thing bad about the Shovel has been remedied throughout the following years.

I had a '73 TX750 metallic gold. I think I paid $300 for it. Looked good and ran good...but, oil would creep past the o ring letting oil into the points. It would kick back when trying to start an wear out the dowel pins for the starter. The factory had a modification that had two o rings on the shaft to the points. It worked for as long as I owned it, which was not long at all. Sold it for $300 and a '75 DT 125. It was green and a great dual sport for short rides!

Heck yeh the DT’s were always great, I had a few IT’s myself and let’s just say the school bus wasn’t nearly as fun or cool. I’d roll my little IT175 down the street to start it, hit the RR tracks and make school in 7 minutes. Sorry, I love rambling about the old days.

    The Triumph 1200 was a 4 cylinder engine - the 750 & 900 were triples

Later Trophy models were triples but not the one pictured. I seriously wonder if this guy can count to 4 😂

    Kawasaki Z1
Only the very first had that device.
I had one of them and I never had trouble with that device. What is more, it was very easy to get rid of that lubrication.
The trouble is, those who like to bash the Kawasaki Z1 never had one! The same goes for Kawasaki's triples.
By the way, the Z1, Z900, Z1000 and derivates were the most easiest bikes to service.

Relatively easy to service other than valve adjustment, shim under bucket was a labor intensive job needing to to measure the shim stacks etc. but yeh, otherwise they were a breeze to service. I wish I still had my gorgeous 77’ green KZ1000 with the Kerker

I have another one for you.
    The 1985 BMW K 100
Unaffectionately known as the Bavarian Buzz Bomb for their high frequency vibration.
    I know first hand.
I loved mine until I took a 1500 mile tour on it.
Sold it when I got home.

Fun fact, Porsche designed the V-Rod motor. Regardless it ran circles around anything HD had.

At least they don’t have wet belts. Please tell me no motorcycles have wet cam belts.

I'd like to know what nincompoop had the idea to have a belt that runs in oil?
