I would have to say my favourite aspect(s) is the way you thoughtfully kept your space organized. I'm a minimalist that used to live with his family, and after I moved out and had near full control of my space with my ex, it was so liberating. When we went our seperate ways, having total control was the final box checked where I had a feeling of total bliss. I currently live with my bro who I convinced to move in since I had a spare room that I didn't really know what to do with and he had his jobs on the line due to the pandemic, and after helping him set things up and adjust to our practices, it's been a great balance of company and privacy given our day to days. I will say, being born and raised in Toronto and then moving out to Calgary, I don't know if I could imagine paying that much for around 500 square feet, given that I have lived in buildings a long time and live in downtown Calgary now for twice as much space at half the cost; BUT given that Calgary is a blip compared to my home city, I get the justification to pay for the location. Me and my bro split rent and the internet bill at $560 each, and it's hard for me to find another place right now that is such a good deal, even if the building is older and being renovated. Thanks for opening up your current home to us though and all the best with the couch situation. I wish I could share our space with you in response, but from what I've seen I'd totally be cool to have you two by if you were in town post pandemic. Keep it up and let's get it. 👌🏿 P.S. - I really dig the hand related decor, especially the high contrast illustration in the bathroom. 🖐🏿 Bonus free idea: Take some nice black and white photos of you two in the old couch before getting the new ones. Bonus points for having one printed on nice textured thick paper or canvas and displayed somewhere around (above?) the new one. Just something I would do that seemed cute, especially in memory of making a big purchase together. 😉
cute place! TO real estate is pure crazy 😜 have you tried rotating the bed so the headboard is on the bathroom wall and footboard facing the closet? might give you more space behind the "office". you could also put a coat stand on the corner of that wall that meets the entrance for a bit of separation of the spaces (or put up wall hooks and move the second shoe storage - the one under the mirror - underneath). you could also get a small bistro table w fold down leaves for the corner where the cactus plants are (hard to tell how much space is there), and put a buffet or sideboard on the wall where the kitchen table is currently. finally, you could flip the couch w the back to the kitchen, and put a narrow island/table behind it to extend your kitchen, and use the wall for a light media center/bookcase setup.
love how you guys included the prices for everything in the video! it kinda sucks how people would have to walk through your bedroom to get to your living room but you guys seem to make it work
For what you guys are currently paying, you guys can definitely find a couple of 1+1 dens for under 1900. There are definitely good deals to be had in the bay st corridor if you're looking
That is quite an interesting set up. I've never seen a living room/kitchen like that. Also, that's expensive for how little space you get. I've never seen an entrance from outside right into a bedroom space... also interesting. The first black and white art piece you showed before the bathroom was adorable. The cactus wall is cool. Ikea pretty much owes you ad dollars. Your ability to recall purchase details is uncanny and Kudos to Den for the occasional mirror cameo. The couch is my favorite item. Looks comfy.

I was looking at a lot of newer apartments and condos in Ottawa back in 2019. The market was super crazy and I never got a chance to actually see any of these units in person. The layout has always been a mystery to me; thanks for making this video! :)
Great space! You guys have done a good job a creating separate zones which makes it feel bigger 😊 My husband and I live in ~280 sq ft studio in Paris and pay 1030€ so your place looks nice and spacious and not a bad price 😅 For us, having a separate area with a real bed that you dont have to fold away has been key in making a smaller spaces feel more manageable.

I live about 45 minutes drive North of Toronto in a 1400 sq/ft house but spent most of my life living in apartments so it's interesting to see what the inside of a small condo looks like. You've made good use use of all the space and it looks neat, tidy yet cozy all at the same time. Look forward to the arrival of the new couch 🥰
I'm not sure if it's everywhere in the States, but in some places it's actually illegal to promote a listing as having a bedroom if that room doesn't have windows. I've seen work arounds list "urban" bedroom before, which of course is code for sectioned off studio. Nice space though. You've both decorated it well and I love love love the natural light of the main room.
Great space! If you wanted to brighten up your bedroom space, maybe put some cute twinkle lights up along corners of the ceiling :) Something simple, and still not too bright
Love your set up and how you managed to fit a work station. Hubby and I live in a small space too, not quite 500 sq ft in downtown Vancouver, similar price in rent, both working from home, but different layout… still make it work!
If I was single when I was originally apartment hunting, this space would be perfect for me. Makes me wonder what kind of space I would be living in if I stayed in Toronto and didn't move out to Alberta. I know a lot of people are saying you can do better in terms of how much you pay for what you get, but I imagine you two are wise enough to know that if it was too tight of a budget concern for you, moving to a new space would be a factor you would have acted on already. I totally get moving into a space and making it your own enough to justify the price, especially if location is a factor. I'm a transit user with a bike, so my downtown place is perfect location wise when it comes to getting around and to work, especially living in a sprawled out city like Calgary. Accessibility is huge and that alone could save you a ton of money. Keep doing you, you two, you'll make moves when you need to. 👍🏿

Thanks for watching 😊 Fair point, but we do also think that it’s capitalistic to think more space = better, too!
