No doubt! We got spoiled for years and years and ours closed up shop for good during covid. I can't find any groomers (with good recommendations and reviews) accepting new clients and the only couple I've found that are accepting new clients, it looks like I would rather my dogs not go there! I've had to groom them myself and boy is it hard work, especially without the proper equipment! They sure do not look like show dogs, but I can't just let their hair grow and grow and grow and also become all nasty and matted! It's been rough lol!

I'm a year late but just have to say I am so impressed with your treatment of Lily - she is lucky to have you! I think your technique surpasses all of the dry tugging and pulling of gunk from the ears that I've seen others do...clearly so painful for the pup. God bless you and your work!

As a vet tech: please clean your dogs ears!! While water isn't the best idea because it can get trapped in the ear canal and cause an infection, there are plenty of cheap products on the market that work. If you don't clean them routinely, this is what happens!!

Learn how to clean your dog’s ears and do it a couple of times a month. They’ll be a lot more comfortable.

I know this video is a year old, and chances of you seeing my comment are slim to none. I Came across it because my doggo's ear is infected and it's gotten worse the last 2 days, and of course it's during the weekend, thankfully I'm able to take her first thing this morning not sleeping so I can get there soon as they open. I had a blood bath last night because she accidently cut herself while intensly scratching it (even tho her nails had just been trimmed the other day by the vet). I WISH you were close to me, even within a few hours. Because it's beyond obvious you beyond care for the animals you see. The the amount of trust that dog showed towards you, is not a truly common. Yes the animals trust most groomers etc, but to trust them on that level to mess with their ears like that, especially while it's hurting/causing severe discomfort I don't see too often. Keep up the great work!

AHHHHHH Being a vet tech this video gives me so much anxiety.
For 1, no groomer should clean any infection until a veterinarian is able to get a proper sample to determine the type of infection it is and what medications need to be used.
And 2. vinegar & hydrogen peroxide in the ear? Hydrogen peroxide can cause a lot of damage to a doggies ear! AH no no no!
But on the other hand…. thank you for taking care of Lilly! She is a cute doggo!

Great demo. My Shih tzu puppy has an ear infection (one ear only) and I took her to the vet right away and she is getting treated. My vet said it was probably from the groomers ear plucking that opened the pores and then with the hot and humid weather, caused the yeast infection. I have had spaniels in the past and always had a good ear care routine, so was so surprised that my little shih tzu got an infection. I wasn't very familiar with ear plucking, but the vet said to hold on that and just use regular cleaning solution after the infection heals. Have you had requests from customers not to pluck the ears? Thank you for all you do in posting these videos. Wonderful.

With any floppy eared dogs especially cocker spaniels take a hair scrunchie and pull the ears on top of their head, tie them up loosely and let them sit like that as long as they’ll let you to let the ears air out as much as possible. Great job cleaning.

She was so calm. She must have been relieved. You were so gentle with her. I’m not feeling the love for her family.

I really don't understand how the owner didn't take her to the vet earlier? Is it possible that she didn't see how infected her ear was?

It pisses me gf when people neglect their pups ears. I lived in Florida, and with the heat and humidity, yeast infections were common. I took good care of my pups ears, and he’d still get infections occasionally. He would make a specific pained sound when his ears hurt. Broke my heart. It really hurts! 😊

I took a chance and was careful with a bit of cotton and my pinky then I kind of used a touch of gauze and ear wash to clean my corgi/Pomeranian ears. It looks a lot better but what I pulled out of there was disgusting! Having just seen the vet at least I know it was not infected.

You're being so good with her ear I saw someone using metal with a lil cotton on it but how do u not puncture the ear drum

The eardrum is about 3 inches down and “L” shaped to get to it:) but care and caution and needed when working in these tender ears 💕

I have a tea cup poodle that is 12 weeks old. He has a forest growing in his ears. I gently tried to pull out the hair but he cried out every time I tried. I've had poodles all my life, but this little guy is the only one who cries when I try to pluck out the hair. Do you have any advice on how to get this done? Thank you for your time.😊

Do you recommend tugging or plucking the inner ear hair/fur?
I don't think I could do it. The way you shaved, washed and dried the ear keeping a finger plugging the inner ear looks much better- and leaving it up to the vet to decide also.
I imagine it's different for every infection too.

I do like to pluck the hair if is very dense inside the ear. We don’t need to remove all the hair from inside the ear but removing some of it will help maintain good airflow. If the ear is at all red or swollen or producing a lot of discharge, I would not pluck the ear hair and recommend that the vet have a look inside the ear.

I had a cocker as a kid. She was a constant ear infection. It was awful. There is a surgery they can do but we couldn’t afford it.

Poor thing!! Not only is she a dog but an old gal , she doesn’t need this .Looks like she has Coker Otitis (otitis interna) it can be common with cokers and hounds because of the big flappy ears... Shame on the owners, when you get a certain dog breed you need to take care of its needs 😥
