and no giant fireballs. I don't know why they all show this flat explosion either. probably because it looks good on film.

@@danielcassidy2950 Wrong. There would be "sound", as the explosion is counted in kilotons/megatons probably , and would still violently shake atoms enough for them to vibrate and make sound. And yes, the flat explosion indeed is weird. And there would be a giant fireball, or a plasmaball from around particles. Even though there's not a lot, a nuclear explosion in space is gigantic and would harvest enough to cause visible plasma.
