    For those that are thinking about doing the upper and lower I would highly recommend this procedure. I am 3 months into my final pair of uppers and lowers (snap in) and find them extremely comfortable. Are they a replacement for real teeth, no but its better than regular dentures by far. Find a dentist that is willing to do the work at a reasonable price and has good references. Biggest thing is to find a dentist that really likes this type of work and its not just about the money. Remember, you are going to be seeing a lot of each other so that needs to be considered too. All in for uppers and lowers mine came to just over $15,000.00. That's for 3 pair of temp dentures along the healing process and the final set. The dentist that I used did a lot of work for that money and most of all I am very happy with my new smile and I can eat most things. Its also a big deal when you can smile and talk with confidence! It's been years since I felt like my old self!

      Wow! That's great! Thanks so much for sharing. I wish that's all I had to pay. My snap and dentures are going to cost me about $30,000. But that's for everything. They have to remove the 10 teeth I have 1st maybe that's why. But I've went to 3 different Dentist and they all were very expensive in North Carolina the Wake county area anyway. I do like the dentist I end up choosing. Believe it or not they're the most expensive out of the three but their work and experience are excellent. And they really seem to care about me 😁.
      Glad to hear you can eat and smile again with them. I do have an question, do your gums sometimes get sore from putting them in and taken them out? The video was talking about the different type of strength grip you can get. What ones did you go with? And lastly do you have any regrets?

      @@MsDee-ne8bn Hi Dee, I am guessing that the cost may be due to the higher overhead that the Dentist in your area has. Where I live it cost much less to buy or rent office space and the pay here is also much less. But being comfortable with the Dentist and his staff will make your transition to your new teeth much easier. If you can afford to pay the full cost up front the dentist my offer a good discount. It costs money and effort for the dentist to send out bills so you will be saving him money. My dentist gave me a 10% discount for paying in full. This was nice since he said that there would be no extra cost unless something major happened.
      As far as how the new teeth feel, they are very comfortable it took about a month to get accustomed to how they feel and how to chew with them but now no discomfort at all and best of all I can eat normally. When I got my new teeth the dentist test fitted the dentures with very light grip on the locators and then worked up from there to where they stay in while chewing. I have different strengths on the rear of my dentures and a bit less on the front. Look up "Zest Locaters" on the web this will give you a good idea of how the dentures will fit and how they are retained in your mouth. Only hard part is that the dentures feel so different when you bite down. You can't feel the same feeling that natural teeth give and feel but I got used to this very quickly and don't notice anything unusual in my mouth when I chew now. Expect a few visits to the dentist once you get the final pair for adjustments and locator retention strength checks.
      As far as regrets, none only that I wish I had done this 5 years ago. I feel better because my old teeth were bad from childhood and had only gotten worse as time went on. My body was always fighting a smoldering infection, this always made me feel run down. Now I look and feel better and I hope that you will also. It takes time to go thru the process but its well worth it in the end. Only one small issue no chewing hard things, like hard candies, hard nuts or ice but other than that its all good!

      How long did it take to place 4 implants?

    • @FLHTdriver
      @FLHTdriver 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sietievdw5404 Once your teeth have been removed and your jaw bones have healed and the sockets have filled back in enough the dentist will drill new holes in your jaws for the implant locators to be placed. This process took about 3 months from teeth removal to insertion of the new locators. Once that is done you will need to wait at least 3 more months for the implant locator to heal into your jaw bones. I think that mine took a bit longer since I am older. Once that is done the top of the implant can be screwed into the bone locator that has healed into your jaw. From start to finish it was the better part of a year of wearing temporary dentures. Sounds like a lot of time but for me it was well worth all the time. I now wear my dentures all day. I know that I should take them out for at least 1 or 2 hours but they feel like part of me and are super comfortable. Sorry for the long reply but you need to understand that most of the time is spent is on your body healing bone. Once done, you will feel so much better about yourself and eating for me is for the fist time in my life truly enjoyable. Please feel free to ask any other questions you have.

    Thank you for a wonderful video. i have some questions that I need answered as Im in a situation where the dentist I was having complete the work needed after another oral surgeon had placed the actual implants. I arrived with healing caps in and requested a lower snap in denture. It was my understanding that I would need abutments first then the prothesis would follow. This dentist attempted to use the Zest locator system. I only know this from watching numerous videos and rading lots of information online and being present when this process began. Anyway, He got to the stage of the first wax tryin however the denture was so huge, t was cutting into my lower right side of my giums. It looked really weird, my lower jaw wasprotruding and the my tonguenkept hitting the falange thats behind the lower front teeth. long story shorter. As you can imagine after several appts later, after he tried to do areline possibly, by having me bite down easy for 5mins. he left me alone for about 30 mins, came back and the denture was stuck. It was horrifying almost barbaric with what Ihad to do to get this denture to release. after having to rip my gums apart, crying, panicing, 30 mins later it came loose.. When I came back for next appt. I toldhim again it needed to be adjusted everywhere. the teeth were too short, it waspoorly made. 2 aptslater after he grinded it to almost nothing .it wasnt cutting me anymore but it was still not good, he says he cant do anything else to it. initionally he was willing to make a new one, melt the wax and start over. but not now.
    btw he was paid in full upfront already. After realizing this dentist may not have the skill set to help me , i told them i was going to get a second opinion. 2 week later things got weird. Claims started being filed for procedures that they had been paid for etc.its a mess.
    heres my problem .... the dentist has filed aclaim stating he placed custom fabricated abutments in my mouth @$1005 x4.
    I have the gold locators, the male portion that he just screwed in. he started the Zest locator system but could never get the first wax try in right. so when i left he gets paid for a procedure he didnrt do. I still have the locator denture with only 2of the four pink attachmentsplaced and 2black incerts then the 4 gold males in my mouth. he did all this chairside. i Am i correct iwhen Im saying he didnt place custom fab abutments in my mouth. ill show you if neceassary. i need to resolve this and stop this nonsense. please respnd asap thank you

Go and see more dentists they should be happy to give you an estimate. If not you may want to ex them off of your list. Dentists that want to do this work should be comfortable with a consult meeting so you both can see what is needed.

    Thanks for the video. I have a similar patient with 4 implants that is causing me problems. We are having problems with the denture rocking in the A-P direction after only a few months of having "active" locators. I have tried relining with little success. We placed new locators and have done so with the 3lb and even 5lb locators. Once placed, we get the denture snapped in and patient is happy, only to find out that 4-6m down the road, when she chews in the posterior of her mouth/denture, it will start to disengage the anterior locators causing the denture to rock. The placement of her implants are not great and she is aware of that (she had them placed in FL, I restored them in IN). Regardless, I'm debating doing another reline but do you think that the compression of the soft tissue distal to the implants when she chews is enough to create a fulcrum of the posterior implants thus creating an upward force on the anterior implants, which over time will wear them out and cause it to rock? Any help would be appreciated. THank you

      The placement of implants is based upon many factors that need to be carefully evaluated by the treating dentist before placing and restoring. The dentist may be limited (or helped) by bone density, ridge thickness, location of the sinus and nerve branches, patient's finances, patient's goals, patient's oral habits (bruxism/gag reflex/ability or motivation to clean), systemic health issues, opposing dentition, and occlusal space...to name a few. Additionally dentists are trained from many different schools of thought and viewpoints about how to restore such cases. Restoring a patient with implants, overdentures, and fixed implant prostheses requires careful evaluation of the individual patient's needs to determine the most successful and predictable outcome. Thanks for watching!
