What a beautiful stone and the setting is perfect for that opal! Thanks for showing in such a detail how you make the bezel and setting!

Very nice work, beautiful stuff. I agree completely with the choice of making a clean design and letting the opal be the star. Thanks for sharing!

I really like the way you show the time involved in placing the stone within the setting.

Really enjoyed watching the process of making the setting for the crystal opal!
I especially like that the bail is large enough to accommodate different sizes of chains.
Do you ever work with higher than 9K for your settings, or does it become cost prohibitive?
Would love to see more videos like this. 😊

Hi, thanks for your interest, we mainly work with 9k in Australia to keep the cost down and let the opal be the star of the piece when we make pieces to put on our website, we mainly do custom orders for people where they select an opal and then discuss and design something to fit their budget etc, which includes working with most precious metals. Thanks for the feedback I'm trying to improve the video side of things. lol

I dunno if thermolock is the same as thermoplastic, but if it is, just stick the lump in a cup of hot water for a minute to get the pendant out without any bending or damage. I like the idea of the microwave to soften it to set the stone. Sounds faster than the hot water method I use 😜

I will give the hot water idea a go, sounds good. Cheers

Very nice. Can you provide the names of the tools you used?
