Most people really have no idea how large the oceans are. Also why don't life rafts have a filter attached to them in order to filter the salt out of the ocean water? Must be maddening to be surrounded by water you can't drink. Every life raft should have a pocket that contains a filtering system.

de-salination is pretty complicated, it's not as simple as using a filter that could fit on a raft

@@Panda-il4cn Realisticly you'd survive for a few days due to you have a human body and it can last a couple of days or I think a week without food or water, then you have what if they had, you'd be more smart about it and have only 1 person, so instead of food for 3, you'd have food for you, that would last you longer. So saying you'd last a single day is like saying you'd give up and try to do the suicide.

I read the unbroken book and in it it said that most of the service planes went missing I can only imagine how much more story’s there are like this that are forever unknown because it ended in death

I literally would of drowned myself after 3 days.. miss me with 13+ hours a day under the sun, the raft also probably got scorching hot to the touch.

Read the book called "The Raft" by Robert Trumbull. They did not argue amoung each other, they never attempted to blame anyone for the crash, the pilot did not fall asleep in the plane, and they prayed daily and fervently with their faith being a large part of the book and a large part of the reason they believe they were able to survive.
Movies lie so badly. And they end up being much worse than the factual story. Why do they do that??

Sharks don't follow blood from other sharks, they see it as a threat and don't return to the area for a long period. This is shown previously when Orcs killed sharks.
I read the book about this, its really good.
for anyone lost at sea.. prepare in advance, SHINY SUN REFLECTING objects like watches, mirror/glass, metal flasks, etc. ready for when a plane flies by. if the dude with wearing the watch has waived his arms WITHOUT the shirts, they would've had a better chance (not to mention, i saw lots of item they hadn't even looked at until after the plane passed by)
When i was a child one time, i recall there being a news story about someone being stranded at sea on a refrigerator and the refrigerator was the only reason they had survived
