    I maintain my 2007 Ruckus at the mileage due. Other than a few major work I had done, new clutch at 26,500 miles and a vacuum leak, new drive belt and roller weights it still runs great.

      I should get to 30,000 miles by next summer 2022.
      The techs at the Honda motorcycle dealer I have all my maintenance and work done at can't believe I have over 27,000 miles.

      Ron you commented on my sons ruckus I got him this year he just rolled over 3000km on it and have had some good rides in mountain rides etc.... we have changed the oil 4 times since new.... just gave it a fresh plug and air filter, overkill I know but cheap insurance and well maintained it will last a long time....it’s stock save for the yoshi exhaust.

      Im doing my first oil change with synthetic at 50 miles ill clean the screen with mass air flow sensor cleaner. Then ill change again at 250 then 600 then 800 every time after that its less than a quart and the money i save in gas and insurance is well worth babying it.

    Great video, thanks!! I wish everyone took such care like you in properly maintaining any vehicle. Next time when you do an oil change you can try leaving your oil cap on when you remove the drain bolt then open it once the oil starts draining. I've found by doing this the oil flows out with a little less force at first, making catching it easier and safer as to where it's going to land in the small little pans you have to use to fit under these bikes.

    I bought a heavily modified nearly new ruckus from a guy that bought it that way, it was running terribly, learned alot about the bike troubleshooting, in the end it was the valve shims, I'd recommend buying the valve shim kit Hot Cams 7.48mm Complete Shim Kit HCSHIM01 for Honda CRF Kawasaki KX Suzuki RMZ Yamaha WR YZ Dirt Bikes, if you don't have a feeler gauge you will need that too. My bike was 37 miles when first owner had it and under 200 when I got it and my intake valve was way out of spec, the ruck wouldn't run, so I went from 2.02 shim to a 1.90 shim on intake and dropped down one size on exhaust. The fuel pumps are known to go bad, so you change the pump and filter at the same time, drain old gas, ect. The other thing to watch on stock ruckus is the air filter if it gets moved during bumping road, ect it can cause your ruckus to run really bad, has to be in there just right!

    • @Dondular
      @Dondular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Didn't even think about the air filter but that makes a lot of sense. Sort of like a lawn mower engine, no gas to the carburetor without some attenuation on the air intake. Great tip! I'll commit that one to memory.

      @@Dondular I don't really use tools too often but I'm confident I could do this no problem. I'm just curious as to whether or not any cheap torque would do for this job because if I could use a $10 one to get the job done, that would be really cool. Just asking because I looked them up & seen some of them range from $10-$300. I would literally only use it for this purpose. Lol. Or could I even just use a socket wrench?

    i changed my 2024 ruckus today at 850 miles. i put in about 21oz of oil & 1oz of seafoam to a gallon of shell 93 octane gas. when i checked the dipstick it was slightly past the halfway mark in the area your supposed to have the oil (low-high graded area on stick) previously it went over this amount when the dipstick was seated. wow! what a difference! that little amount of too much oil really bogged my overall ride down.
    overall functions became tighter and not as sluggish. i am able to hold 25mph on hills now, i get to 35 much quicker now. 180lbs

    Do you need a driver license and insurance for drive a ruckus? Honestly is first time ever hear about this motorcycle

    • @Dondular
      @Dondular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In different states there are different rules for scooters less than 50 CCs. In Texas, you do need a license to ride any motorized vehicle on the road (and I highly recommend taking the MSF course, which is how Texas handles their motorcycle licensing) and insurance is required. A stock Ruckus is limited to 40 MPH which you can hit on the straights, uphill it will bog down to about 25 MPH. They'll get about 100 MPG and the tank holds about 1.3 gallons of gas. A little more info than you asked for, I know, but since you said it was your first time seeing one, thought I'd give a quick overview.

    • @wizzdumb_610
      @wizzdumb_610 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2
