Perfect. It's hard transitioning from one fight sport to the other. When I do boxing rounds during training camps I definitely don't slip low enough...although I guess it's best not to form any bad habits when you're training for kickboxing.

    • @Silokkes

The reason that fighting an opponent who is capable of slipping your shots is so exhausting, is due to the fact that you have to stop all your own strikes. When you strike a glove or someone that’s blocking, they absorb the momentum of your strike so all you have to do is pull your arm back, which might be made easier by the fact that your limb could be bouncing of the thing your striking, but if your hitting air you have to stop the momentum behind your strike and then bring it back, which adds up very quickly, if your opponent is hitting you while dodging.

Lots of people in MMA right now are not understanding how to safely close range and strike when opponents commit heavily to the calf kick and I've seen a few in kickboxing as well where because they didn't fake entries or punish instantly they just get chopped down.

Since you asked for requests I have two:
1 - Can you make a video about set ups and how to induce the opponent to react in a certain way?
2 - I love videos about strattegies and how fighters read their opponents and choose their response. If you would be so kind to make a video about your fights or from other fighters I'd really appreciate it.
    Have a nice evening.

Can we see something on shin conditioning and leg kicks in open stance?

People have to understand that that clip of Anderson Silva was not that he sucked at moving... he is probably one of the best movers out there who got clipped after actually killing everything with that movement for a very, very long time, internationally, hence why he was picked for the UFC and why he killed the UFC for so long. People need to understand that is MMA NOT KICKBOXING! You move like a kickboxer in MMA and they will break you by picking you up so damn easy when facing a wrestler, hence the destruction Khabib did to the division he dominated when it was more stand up than anything else. Another good video by the host of this channel.

I think Silva would of been a good match in Muaythai for the superstar Buakaw, but Anderson Silva would of destroyed Buakaw in an MMA fight. I remember when Gorgio faced Andy and Andy being a funky fighter like Anderson Silva knocked both him and Van Roosmalen out. Gorgio and what we think are goats will not be as the diversity of the true warrior spirit begins to change the atmosphere of fighting and skill through our youth... I believe we are still in the baby stages of potential and skill and people will see that this orthodox movement is very good but also very predictable if the fighters and trainers dare to change the field of battle... oldest fact in all fighting history... all of it and it will be exactly like this more sooner than we can imagine after the end of this decade.

100% right. Silva probably would have been safe if he wasn't toying around in that fight. Just a luck shot but still a good example of what not to do for others.

Silva was a very reaction based counter fighter. He leaned to far and predicted the standard cadence of left right left right at a standard tempo but Weidman threw left right left Hook and came back with the backhand and hit him on a half beat which threw him off all while being out of position and begun the end for him

@@marsoc0326 also after years even the greatest cannot calibrate movement well after rough battles... if you do not fight your movement will actually get better the older you get, though slower, but if you fight you will become a better fighter, but your brain does not always send the right information to your body like before. Also sharp youth is a big thing as they are chasing you as fresh upcoming warriors also with upgraded processors due to modernized training and techniques. Instincts and mental health also play a big part as the brain and body takes hits. some people fight better after a hit, but there is always the other side affects waiting to catch up.
