Some of us are pretty removed.
For instance I moved into an apartment for the first time and it doesn't have laundry, I didn't want to go get quarters for their machine, and I don't like using the laundry mat, so I was trying to think of how to do my laundry cheap. I bought a portable washing machine on amazon, but later on I was like, "wait can't I just hand wash my clothes?"
That is how far removed I am lol, it completely slipped my mind that I could've just hand washed my clothes and saved the money....... I am a single dude so it's not like I have a huge amount of laundry.
I felt pretty silly at that point and it made me realize just how dependent I have become on technology. I think a lot of us are convinced that we NEED certain things like a washing machine, dryer, car, etc. When in reality you don't NEED those things they are just luxuries.
A lot of us just haven't ever had to do these things so it's new for us.

In my country there's an enormous habit of line drying clothes.... Airdrying helps them to do ironing later on since it prevents wrinkles and scratches it easily... And the backyard gets a very good smell after you hang them out. I love doing it. I only use my drying cycle in the winter... But it spends a high amount of electricity here....

When I came to Bloomington Indiana United States I was surprised to see no one dry clothes outside. If I am going for jogg or tennis or basketball I will wash my t shirt and lower and put them on chair in balcony. I can't keep those sweaty clothes waiting for weeks to clean and use my drier😂. Someone told me it is illegal here in United States. Still I am drying them outside sometimes 😂. I can't use my drier for only couple of clothes. Please let me know if it is really illegal. I am not keeping my jockey undergarments for sure 😂 for drying outside. 😔.I hope cop should not come and take me to jail for this one day. 😢

I take 6 walks up and down the stairs to complete one whole load of laundry. Put it in the wash, go upstairs. That's 2. Take it out to put in the dryer, go upstairs. That's 4. and taking it out of the dryer, go upstairs. That's 6. If I'm doing 5 loads that's 30 times. That's one reason to switch to line drying for lighter items.
