Definitely agree. There's no reason to use regular taxis. Not only do they charge more, but they can manipulate the prices by driving farther or taking different directions. On top of that when you use these ridesharing apps you get all the drivers info just in case you have an issue or lose anything. There's literally no reason to take taxis anymore.

@@GipsyDean I am not interested in the studio, That's the one reason my bills are higher. I have no interest in being squeezed into a tiny little 30 m or smaller studio. For me I need at least 50 m². Yes that's true.
we got hbc in canada
There's 2 branches here in da nang. One at airport 1 in the main city. I did hear there possibly is a 3rd HSBC.
VP & TP bank have no ATM fees
Yes true few others said the same. Both times I went to TP Bank they were out of cash. But I heard they don't charge a fee also.
I have a swab account. Is that a swab debit card or credit card?
@@CamillaCoachHarris This one I believe is called the investor checking account. I highly recommend getting it before traveling. They refund ALL your ATM Fees back every month. If you call Charles Schwab they will definitely know what you're talking about I'm pretty sure it's called the investor checking's account.
@@WilltravelzTHANK YOU very much I’m opening up a checking account right now.
@@CamillaCoachHarris I'm telling you it's the best card available when traveling. You'll really enjoy all the ATM fees being refunded back to you and all the benefits of not having to pay those crazy ATM fees.
Hi Will, I really enjoyed your video. Is Charle Schwab reimburse conversion fee too?
@@HanNg-24 you can't accept the conversion button. If you do conversion Charles Schwab won't refund the ATM fees. So make sure to decline the conversion to get your fees back.
What account '''requirements''' does Schwab have in order to save you those fees ? -- Do you need some large minimum balance ? 🤔 Their "heart" can't be THAT large ! 🤗
@KB3TLE I’ve used Schwab checking for a few years. I have not been aware of minimum balance requirements. Used at ATM in Mexico and SE Asia. Always get refunded the fees.
Yes I didn't have any requirements it's kind of a loophole type of account. When you open it up it's a trading account and a savings account but there's no requirements to use the trading account.
I use grab and bolt
@@Beautifultraveler-qj7rq I highly recommend using InDrive. It's at least 40 to 50% cheaper than grab I've been using it constantly since staying here in Vietnam. You can actually offer a price that you want and then the drivers will counter offer or accept. Almost always it's been 40% if not more cheaper than grab. But they only do except cash no cards as of yet.

I don't know why anyone still uses regular taxis anymore.
Definitely agree. There's no reason to use regular taxis. Not only do they charge more, but they can manipulate the prices by driving farther or taking different directions. On top of that when you use these ridesharing apps you get all the drivers info just in case you have an issue or lose anything. There's literally no reason to take taxis anymore.
the left ear sound on headphones is too low
Interesting I will try to figure that out. Someone else made a comment too but I'll have to check that out.
How long can a US citizen stay in DaNang?
You can get an evisa for either 30 days or 90 days. After that you have to leave the country but you could return the same day if you wanted to after getting a new evisa.
Thank you !!
@@markgarrett7174 thank you. 👍👍
How often do you get diarrhea there? Did you have to take Pepto before eating there every time?
@@RunAwayTraveler no never
$900 per person = $1800 for two or $450 per person? You travel with a partner, don't you? A bit unclear.
$950 total for both of us. My gf is gone know and my budget is down to about $750 a month now. My gf is back in the Philippines temporarily. Single person $750 (myself) and when she's here it's a a little under $900 (for both of us.)
Too much money. I live on 10 million a month.
@@cagcag696 yes my rent takes up about 70 percent or so or my budget. ( Rent 14 million and everything else 6 million) I'm debating about downgrading to a 1 bedroom (for half the rent) for me it's hard to go to a tiny smaller place or a place not right here in the heart of an thuong.
Since you could negotiate for not paying the one month security deposit , did you try sometimes to run away without paying your rent ?
@@hungcuongnguyen293 haha no. I been staying here for a while. Not only that but I pay my rent when I first moved in. So theres nothing to run from. The security deposit is just in case people damage things or cause issues. But my landlord trusts me. I been using the same landlord on and off for the past 1 year or so.
@@Willtravelz Good ! I was just curious about how foreigners could cheat the locals in Vietnam .
@@hungcuongnguyen293 it's nothing about cheating anybody. I'm just skeptical from the stories that I heard of landlords not giving the security deposit back, or taking a long time to give the security deposit back before I'm leaving the country and then I don't have a chance to convert my currency and lose a lot of money by having to convert my currency at the airport (they charge a big fee) Plus I told my landlord if there was any thing that was damaged or needed to be paid for I would pay for it on the last day no problem.
😂😂😂 I should assume that every landlord or hotel keeps a xerox copy of guests passports as they check in.
@@jacquesahouansou the hotel is definitely do the landlords usually take a picture of your passport, but I've never had them asked me for a copy or they've never made a copy just a picture.
Dude TP bank. No😮 fee, 20m at a time.
I did hear that they don't charge a fee as well. But both times I went to them they were out of cash. So I've always stuck with HSBC. But I believe it's true about TP Bank. Problem is both times I went there they were out of cash and I Heard lots of other people have that same issue.
@@Willtravelz Yes, it is true. VP Bank have not fees too.

Wow! Your rent is 65% of your $850 budget. I could never make your budget work. My budget in BKK is $4k per month, but we have stayed closer to only $3k monthly. Congrats to you.
@@Robmar40 Yes my rent is right around 70% of my budget. I spend very little money on everything else (besides food) I walk everywhere since I'm in the main area that has everything. And for entertainment I spend very little also since I do a lot of free and very cheap activities. If I downgrade to a one bedroom which I possibly might do next month my total bills will go from $750 a month down to $550 a month.
@@Willtravelz Is your low budget out of necessity, or are you just trying to save money?
@@Robmar40 actually both. I'm not generating any income right now. But despite that even if I had income coming in I would definitely still live well under $1,000 a month in a city. I moved out of the USA to live a very similar lifestyle but at 50% or more cheaper.
Live like a cheapskate.
@@chrisncebu Budget wise maybe but quality wise I'm living pretty good. I have a nice two bedroom two bathroom apartment right on the beach. Plus I go to restaurants 4 to 5 times a week. Living like that back in the USA would cost well over $3,000 a month. 👍👍
You talk about being frugal and keeping your budget low yet you are paying 14 million for rent when there are plenty of good places between 6 and 7 million in the desirable My Khe area. Are you living with a woman and paying for her expenses also? It said you are paying $900 in expenses for two people. Facebook marketplace shows tons of studio and 1 bedroom apts. I have been to Da Nang twice and am returning by Feb to stay long term.
@@GipsyDean I am not interested in the studio, That's the one reason my bills are higher. I have no interest in being squeezed into a tiny little 30 m or smaller studio. For me I need at least 50 m². If you are able to do a studio or something smaller you could cut your rent in half for sure. But for myself I can't go for something that small. I am debating about going down to a one bedroom (from my current 2 bedroom) which would get my monthly budget down to about $550 a month (total for everything) so if you were willing to do a studio or a small place you could definitely get places for anywhere from 4 and 1/2 to 7 million. For example next month I'm debating about downsizing to a one bedroom that will cost me 7 million for a 1 bedroom. 👍👍
