After cleaning out all the built up soap in my dispenser dislodging the spring for the soap cover getting it to open all the way properly and then explaining ur tip about loading with plates in front of the dispenser instead of bowls or pans or pots to the whole family, it's so amazing the 4 loads since I commented on ur kids comments last weekend. We now use all the soap, nothing left and clean silverware! No soap stains below the dispenser or on the silverware directly below dispenser either!! Like new again. Simple stuff. Amazing. Still cute catch at the end with the kiddies. Good job
I thought this was the reason my dishwasher just dribbled globs of soap down the door. Thanks for the confirmation! We had large fry pans blocking the spray.
Wow i bought new pods and thought they were the problem. Just checked and i had a bowl set just like that. Hope this fixes it. Running another cycle now. Thanks for the info!
Some dishwashers (Bosch) have baskets on the top rack that the pods fall into, so you can just place the pod in that basket or place the pod on or in the silverware basket.

Hmmm, I thought my door was being obstructed but it wasn't this time for sure. This could be my problem. I'll have to remember to load plates in that area next time and see how it goes. Thanks.
@Check it out!!! Good afternoon:) Id like to know if you can help me out here. My brother just moved into a new place that has a new dishwasher. That said, I assumed there would be no issues. I placed the pod in there as ive done 18352724 times in my life- however this time it isn't working. I place the pod into the drawer space and slide the lid to close. Once a cycle is complete, I open it up and see A. Dishes are still dirty B. The pod is at the bottom and it is completely unused...its melted barely a bit in one corner but it essentially does absolutely nothing. Ive tried it different ways by moving tbe dishes around and or different settings etc but nope. Wont work.
If soap dispenser still has soap its because the dispenser door isn't opening to drop the soap pack into bottom of dishwasher. Water spray towards the dispenser isn't how its designed to work.
That’s true. If the door never opens, it’s not gonna come out. With that said, the Jets are designed to shoot water in that area to help ensure that the soap makes it down to the bottom of the tub.👍😎
Good question. Most dishwashers have a pre-cycle. What that means is they run hot water for about 8 to 10 minutes to just get the big stuff. Then it empties that water and refills the dishwasher with hot water and drops the soap in there. The soapy water is used for a lengthy period of time to clean the dishes. If you put in the soap early, it will only be used in the pre-cycle and then discarded. Hope that makes sense!

You can also check the little holes on the sprayer. Make sure they’re not clogged up.
I ran mine empty twice and it didn’t open either time.
Where to put the bowls then?

What to do, if the dispenser door itself is not opening?
Use the pre-wash door. If you use pods, put one in or on the silverware basket.

The water should go and bounce everywhere, even into the detergent door. The top rack spray arm should have a spray jet facing it.
Coat the pod with liquid detergent using your fingers.
