The theory that Yang hatched from an egg is hilarious, but unlike a lot of fan theories, it actually has a reason to exist. On a symbolic level, her parents are a dragon and a bird. On a practical level, it would avoid any issues if a pregnant Raven were to turn into a bird. It would also give Raven another reason to be pissed at Ozpin.
There’s no way CRWBY would ever endorse this, but it’s still a fun theory.
But wouldn't she also have the ability to turn into a bird if she came out of an egg unless poor bird Raven had to fly around with a massive egg the size of a human baby.

Well, this would be a bit awkward since that means Yang completely lacks a belly-button due to the fact that creatures that hatch don't come out with an umbellical cord that would leave such a mark to begin with.
This would also be even more interesting in a version of Remnant that has an index of "biological anomalies," from the Schnee's hereditary Semblances, to the Faunus and how their magical genes work, to a lot of other stuff, including Yang happening to be hatched from an egg.
And perhaps Atlas would have a history of not admittitng Faunus because in their past they had horrific experiences with a sub-set of humans whose "biological anomalies" made them monsters that are essentially a hybrid between Grimm and humans, with the malice of the former and the intelligience of the latter, and since the populace fears such an event happening again, they simply refuse to allow biological anomalies to enter military service or any service, much less parts of high society. And there comes a bit of drama when Yang enters Atlas and learns that she is in fact a "biological anomaly" because she was hatched from an egg, and it's likely possible later on that her children would come in the form of eggs as well.
But of course, all of this awkwardness would be avoided if a doctor simply carved a bellybutton into Yang when she was a baby.

Tbf I think the “Qrow is Ruby’s dad” theory was the community’s attempt to write around the fact that Tai ended up conceiving kids with both his female teammates within the span of 2 years.

I feel like a much more reasonable connection would be Ruby’s bright and cheerful demeanor being related to spring. Although if Ruby were to ever get a maiden power, it would have to be fall, given the amazing payoff of Cinder’s all consuming hatred of ruby ultimately leading her last thoughts to be of Ruby. Not that I think either of those hold any water, ruby already has a readily available deus ex machina

qqthat is exactly the problem that i have with the maidens.
i am pretty sure that if i were to be killed i would be thinking on my murderers, being in the best case escenario that someobe random would become a maiden, and in the worst, the maiden power would be stealed by an enemy faction.
i was thinking that was weird that she didn't talk about that posibility, to me, that Cinder's hatred for Ruby ends with Ruby receiving the Maiden's powers is highly possibly.
@@khomozhea5216 Well if that's how the maiden power works then that's just how it works lol. I don't consider it a problem. It's exactly what happened with the Fall Maiden. Cinder shot her and was the last person she saw, therefore the last person she thought of. So basically we've already seen that idea play out in the show.
It sucks ass for the person getting killed, sure, but it doesn't the make the concept a bad one.

and yeah, if that is how it works, well it is how it works, since it is magic it doesn't to be beneficial neither make sense (i couldn't think of better words). And if it brings interesting ideas and plot threads, i can't really get mad at it.

@@khomozhea5216 Well yes Cinder does have her grimm arm that allows her to suck the maiden power directly from the host even as they are still alive.
But I was talking about in volume 3 when she shot the Fall maiden (Amber) with an arrow. Cinder was the last person that Amber saw so the power went to Cinder. This was the in-show scenario of the power going to the enemy.
But if you don't like it, I can understand that. It's like you better hope your death is not instant so that hopefully you have a 'life flashing before your eyes' moment or where maybe you think of friends or family and it goes to one of them in the moment you die.

Well for one thing it would mean that Qrow abandoned Ruby. Remember, it was Tai, her canonical father, who actually raised her. Qrow isn’t her father figure, he’s her uncle, that makes a big difference in their dynamic, Qrow not being around all the time is fine if he’s a relative but if he’s her father than that means he has more responsibilities as a father that he dumped on Tai.
@@ryancarson6962 That's ridiculous even if that all was true so what? Qrow has a job, he does take care of Ruby when he's around, and his Semblance makes him the worst actual parent in the world. Nothing would change if he was Ruby's Father and everyone knew that, it's a stupid plot idea at it's very core by this point. It could work in earlier Volumes because we knew less about the family dynamic and what Qrow does.
@@nahte123456 THANK GOD!!! I swear, I thought I was the only person in the world who actually disliked this theory! I mean, for crying out loud why do so many people actually like this theory!? Why do so many people want it to be a thing!? Sorry for flipping my lid, but I really hate this idea, and 100% agree with you. It is a stupid plot idea, it wouldn't really change anything to the story, and would jeopardize Ruby's relationship with Tai, and even Yang (like, do people actually want Ruby to be cousins with Yang instead of sisters, I mean really?). It's pointless and stupid.
"Qrow is Ruby's dad" was one of my favorite theories and if the creators hadn't debunked it themselves, it would still be the most prevalent in the fandom as it had a lot of "circumstantial evidence":
1) As you mentioned, Ruby looks a lot like Qrow and nothing like Tai despite having no blood relationship to her uncle. All parents and children shown in this series thus far, have been designed to look alike in some capacity. Either they are nearly identical (In the case of Blake and Weiss' parents) or otherwise show traits of both parents (Yang). For this reason, it felt strange for Ruby to have ZERO physical resemblence to the man who was supposed to be her biological father.
2) Qrow's theme song, "Bad Luck Charm", possessed some lyrics that seemingly explained something curious about Ruby's name and really gave ALOT of fuel to this theory's fire.
So Ruby's last name is Rose, like her mother, instead of Xiao Long like her sister and father. A lot of people found that this was weird since Summer died at an age where Ruby would have barely been able to remember her. In Yang's volume 2 flashback, which takes place after Summer's death, she describes Ruby as still being a toddler. For this reason, it seemed highly unlikely that toddler-aged Ruby made the choice to take up her mother's name instead of Tai's. Meaning that this choice was made for her.
Going back to Qrow's theme song, there is a lyric that states
"You and I are not the same, You don't want the burden of my *name*"
This lyric, coupled with the reveal of Qrow's bad luck semblence in Vol 4, is what really cemented the narrative that Qrow is Ruby's father for many.
Qrow's line in Vol 4 of "I'm sorry Tai, she's not coming back" implied that Qrow was present at Summer's death. It also implies that his bad luck may have helped caused her demise (or at least he seems to think so). For this reason, it made sense that he would keep a distance from his daughter (Ruby), so that his semblence wouldn't bring her harm as it had Summer. He gave Ruby (who was a toddler) to Tai in order to keep her safe from his semblence and so that she would be able to have an active/present father figure in her life while he kept an eye on her from a distance.
Ruby was given the last name Rose by Qrow in honor of her mother and to hide the fact that she is actually Qrow's daughter. As the song stated "you don't want the burden of my name".
It would also give another reason for his excessive drinking: thinking he caused his wife's death and having to live separate from his daughter for her safety.
3) Tai seems to have little to no relationship with Ruby in comparison to her relationship with Qrow. In Vol 4, we get to see that Tai is the doting parent type. And while its understandable that he'd give more attention to Yang (who just lost an arm) at that time, he spends little to NO time at all consoling his younger daughter who had just watched her friend die. Nor does Tai explain anything to Ruby at the end of Vol 3. Despite being her father, Tai is never mentioned to have tried to help Ruby train when she wanted to learn how to fight, despite him training Yang and being a professional hunstman/instructor. Qrow takes on Ruby's training, Qrow talks to Ruby about her mother and Qrow explains Ruby's silver eyes to her. Some of these topics (especially relating to Summer), seem like it would be best explained from the mouth of a parent, not an unrelated uncle. Additionally Qrow is far closer to Ruby (someone completely unrelated to him) than he is to his actual niece (the daughter of his twin sister).
4) Yang and Ruby are only two years a part. Assuming that Tai and Raven split the very same day that Yang was born, this single father had to have immediately gotten over being dumped, found the time (despite dealing with a newborn) to start dating Summer, gotten married (Summer is listed as his wife) and then gotten her pregnant all in about a year. That is an insane time frame to think about
I actually would have liked it if they went this route. Ruby and Yang being cousins instead of half-sisters would explain why they look nothing alike. It would also explain why Tai and Ruby seem kind of distant, and don't seem to have any where near a similar father-daughter relationship that Tai and Yang share.

I’m a firm believer of this theory now
I myself theorized that Cinder's Semblance was the power of "suggestion". Basically, if she maintains eye contact with someone, they'll believe what she wants them to believe.
It went like this. This was back during, like, Volume 3 to 5, before we definitively knew what her Semblance was. My theory hinged on two scenes; her conversation with Roman and her conversation with Ruby in Volume 2.
For her conversation with Roman, he was getting frustrated and annoyed with how vague Cinder was and wanted to know more, to which she says "You'll know when you need when you need to know". They maintain eye contact and you hear a slight sizzling sound before Roman turns away and drops the subject.
And with Ruby, she was masquerading as a student alongside Emerald and Mercury, Cinder says they're from Haven. Ruby and Cinder look at each other for a while, with the same sizzling sound before Ruby accepts Cinder's words.
I imagined the sizzling sound was Cinder burning her "truth" into them so they believe her or just don't question her further.
This sounds quite good but also just makes me question the limits like why not just go to ozpin and burn the truth that she is the next maiden or maybe glynda who doesnt have magic

The Yatsuhashi theory is actually quite decent. In my memory, there isn't a part where his arm guard gets removed(which would be the location of the tattoo he would have if he were Banesaw. On top of this, his semblance is memory manipulation which could be why nobody else may know including his teammates and the final thing is choice of weapon they both have similar weapons and fighting styles.
I would say the main problem with it is that Banesaw was left on the train unconscious, while showing Yatsuhashi coming in with his team in a bullhead not long after the grimm breaking in the city. Add the fact he looked fine and not damaged.
Honestly I think they just tried to pull a sneaky and re-use the model to save time

As a Star Fox fan, I don't get it either, he'll the grand majority of the Star Fox characters are named after their species.
So, in the SNES continuity, James's name was also "Fox", he was Fox McCloud Senior, so there are some theories that with the renaming of Fox's father to "James" in the N64 version, that he is also called "James" and "Fox" is a nickname for him, because he doesn't like being the junior

Funny enough Frigg and Freyja being one and the same might have been how they were originally. Freyja's husband is named Odr (Ecstasy) who's usually absent. Frigg's husband is Odin (Master of Ecstasy) who travels away from Asgard in search of knowledge. Both Frigg and Freyja are Volva (practitioners of Seidr, a type of Norse magic). Both seem to have a comparable position to Odin. Freyja is the goddess of Seidr, she even taught the craft to the Æsir, she also takes half of the slain warriors to her field (Folkvangr). Frigg is the queen of the gods and is the only one allowed to sit on Hlidskjalf alongside Odin where they can see all of creation.
Freyja's mother might be Nerthus, who is identified with mother earth, while Frigg's father is Fjorgynn, the masculine personification of the earth. While Freyja's father is Njord, he might as well be another aspect of Jord (earth) as Njord is exactly what the Proto-Germanic name Nerthus would look like if it were rendered in Old Norse. So basically, Earth is the mother of Frigg/Freyja. Heck, they might as well be extensions or aspects of Jord.
What does that have to do with Thor? His mother is Fjorgyn, the female personification of the earth. As I'm sure you guessed by now, Earth or Jord seems to be hermaphroditic, makes sense considering she was made from the corpse of Ymir (a hermaphrodite primordial giant). So, while her comment of Thor's mother being Freyja is off, it isn't exactly baseless either.
My theory is that yang is the literal fusion of tai and Raven, like a gogeta fusion

Its also basically confirmed that Phyrra's crown was melted down into the gold accent on Jaune's armour and sword. Now if the crown and the sword were both relics we would have a super Double Relic!

I know the team RWBY maidens one got another jump from the fact we learned team RWBY's birthdays and they each coorilate to a season. Yang to Summer, Weiss to Winter, Blake to spring, and Ruby to fall.
My own crazy RWBY theory was on Jaune having wings as part of his semblance. Cause he was constantly being sent flying in volume 1. And the whole Arc Angel thing. XD
They don't really though, atleast not all. Blake's birthday was a few days ago and January is not spring.

Blake is winter because White/Black, Weiss could be spring because flowers bloom after the snow, Yang is summer because she's fiery, and Ruby is Fall because she has kinda a gothic style which fits fall, roses (or flowers in general) fall to the ground in fall

My favorite RWBY theory was the one Phoenix/night did about Zwei secretly being a shapeshifter and working for Salem. I think (hopefully after they've killed/ written off some other characters) introducing a new villain would be interesting, and having one so close to the main girls would have him feel pretty threatening?? The zwei thing is probably not gonna happen, but I am really interested If the extra seat in Salem's coucel room was intentional or not. Only time will tell.... it probably wont happen.

That hug between Yang and Ren at 8:00 is so nice and warm and full of friendship, I really wish that this was the type of friendship we would actually get to see in the show...
Ive always been a fan of the "(blank) is a (blank) faunus" mostly because with how much story the white fang plot took up blake needs an opposing viewpoint that can't be so easily writtin out of the show
I'm always with the fandom regarding Qrow being Ruby's dad.
Theory : Qrow and Summer uwu'ed and conceived baby Ruby. Qrow's being an elite huntsman go pewpew with Summer against Salem. Qrow's semblance wasn't feeling it that day, so Summer got fucked by Salem. Qrow became emo and sad after losing his waifu, , gone alcoholic and being too inebriated - left baby Ruby with househusband Tai to grab some Jack Daniels from your local WalMart and never came back.
Also seeing the common tropes in anime (in which RWBY is based from), the child is usually a mixed between both parents, with Yang is literally blond Raven so Ruby would at least got a tint of yellow on her colour pallet but no yellow whatsoever, even on her outfit - well except probably her undies.
I've always been fond of this theory if only because Ruby and Yang are very close in age so it's always felt weird that Tai and Summer would get together so soon after Raven left, whatever her reason was - if they were like four, five years apart it'd seem more natural but as it is Sumer would've been pregnant with Ruby a few months or a most a year after Raven left.
Considering Tai still seems to have some positive feelings towards Raven and Summer was in a team with them so she would've known about their relationship and that Tai and Summer are/were - as far as we know - pretty alright people, getting together so soon seems like an unusually dickish move on their part to me
But wouldn’t Yang know Ruby is her cousin because she was old enough to see Summer as her mom not her aunt
@@ninjaked1265 Yang and Ruby have a 2-year age difference, the whole reason Yang remembers Summer is that Summer was around for a few years before dying, if she'd been told that Ruby was her sister and Summer her Stepmom she probably wouldn't have questioned it - even if Ruby and Summer had arrived suddenly chances are she was too young to remember it in the present
Except Ruby and Summer had been living for years with Tai and Yang. Yang was even surprised Summer wasn't her biological mother.

The pyrrha relic theory is clearly not true, however, it is really interesting thematically because of how she was given what was probably the hardest *choice* to make in the series.
I actually would’ve love to have seen a Faunus team that had characters based on the Fox & the Hound and the Tortoise & the Hare. It seems to be such a fun combination of fables

10:38 - Okay a little something from someone who knows a bit more about Norse Myth. Thor's Mother isn't Freyja, it's Jord, a Giantess from Norse Mythology.
Frigg was Thor's Step-Mother as Odin's Relationship with Jord was part of an affair.
And Frigg and Freyja are not to be confused with one another as Freyja is a Goddess of the Vanir, while Frigg is a Goddess of the Aesir.
Just wanting to clear that up.

My only major theory outside of the already prevalent “Pyrrha is Agent Carolina” theory is that the entire show is a fantasy inside the head of a comatose Ruby Rose, having been knocked out cold by Roman in the fight in the first episode. But in all somewhat seriousness, my real other major theory is that Summer Rose is still alive, there’s nothing but an empty coffin at her gravesite, as she had become Salem’s new vessel.

My personal favourite wacky theory is that at some point, likely the final battle with Salem, Ruby is sent back in time, probably loses her memories and becomes Summer Rose - who never existed, eventually regaining her memories and realising she has to abandon her past self to not fuck with the timeline. Actually I’m pretty sure her shield and swordspeargunjavelin survived, although the swordspeargunjavelin was broken into three pieces. Not a proponent of the tiara theory, but the shield and weapon seem like more than enough material for his new armor and shield

I wish they showed Qrow bringing back Phyrra's remaining armor/weapons and Ruby down from the tower, it's a little confusing on how Jaune got it lol

I really like the theory that the last King of Vale, one of Ozpin's past lives, who made a sword with a similar design to the relic of destruction, and when the relic was locked away, the sword was given to his family, the Arcs.
Freya isn't Thor's mum frigga(frigg) is, freya is a different goddess. they're also different versions where thor's mum is a giantess called jord. Frigga= aesir goddes and odin's wife mom of atleast Thor's younger brother balder. Freya= vanir goddes of beauty and love, sister of freyr.
Funny enough Frigg and Freyja being one and the same might have been how they were originally. Freyja's husband is named Odr (Ecstasy) who's usually absent. Frigg's husband is Odin (Master of Ecstasy) who travels away from Asgard in search of knowledge. Both Frigg and Freyja are Volva (practitioners of Seidr, a type of Norse magic). Both seem to have a comparable position to Odin. Freyja is the goddess of Seidr, she even taught the craft to the Æsir, she also takes half of the slain warriors to her field (Folkvangr). Frigg is the queen of the gods and is the only one allowed to sit on Hlidskjalf alongside Odin where they can see all of creation.
Freyja's mother might be Nerthus, who is identified with mother earth, while Frigg's father is Fjorgynn, the masculine personification of the earth. While Freyja's father is Njord, he might as well be another aspect of Jord (earth) as Njord is exactly what the Proto-Germanic name Nerthus would look like if it were rendered in Old Norse. So basically, Earth is the mother of Frigg/Freyja. Heck, they might as well be extensions or aspects of Jord.
What does that have to do with Thor? His mother is Fjorgyn, the female personification of the earth. As I'm sure you guessed by now, Earth or Jord seems to be hermaphroditic, makes sense considering she was made from the corpse of Ymir (a hermaphrodite primordial giant). So, while her comment of Thor's mother being Freyja is off, it isn't exactly baseless either.
Rwby theory during volume 3: white fang wanna use dust to turn everyone into a faunus. With magic introduced and large quantities, some how elements held in crystals made biological changes.
I 100% ALSO thought there was going to be a way the villains could turn people into faunus! I thought for sure Salem was going to be able to bring back Torchwick and turn him into a donkey faunus (because in Pinocchio Candlewick and the other boys turn into donkey's.)
When it comes to Maiden theories, I like the one where Willow Schnee is the Winter Maiden.

Back before volume 7 dropped, and Penny was brought back, I had a theory that Penny would return, not as herself, but as a fragmented AI. For those who haven't seen RVB, a fragmented Ai is essentially when an artificial intelligence experience an event so traumatic and damaging to their mental state, that it forces them to segregate certain parts of their mind/ personality, and then break them off, creating smaller, less powerful AI called AI fragments. Fragments are the parts of an AI that get removed in order to stop the pain, for example when Alpha couldn't deal with the memory of Allison's death, he created the Beta AI (the embodiment of Allison's memory), and broke it off from himself, leaving him without the memory of Allison.
I had basically theorized that since Death is, ya know, a pretty traumatic thing for someone to experience, that Penny would come back broken. Either missing her memories, or bits of her personality and that Pietro would be experimenting on her behind the scenes trying to find a way to piece her back together (like how the director did with Allison). And that Penny's fragments would become antagonists for the next volume. The parts of herself that Penny would most likely give up would be her grief, her fear, her memory of her death, and the betrayal of Ruby leaving her and allowing her to die after saying they would always be friends. Penny's fragments would basically go the route of the Meta, and try to combine forces to get their revenge. It was all very Fanficy and a little TOO similar to RVB, but I figured it was an interesting concept, since rooster teeth invented the idea of AI fragmentation, and it would be a cool way to connect their two most popular franchises.

When Salem was first revealed (or a little after) I was on board with the theory that she was corrupt Summer.
On the hidden dad thing... I thought Jacques might have been cinders dad, based around his actual hair colour and her yelling about hating atlas in volume 7; also the idea was Weiss and Winter being the evil/ugly step sisters (from her perspective anyway)
But..... they don’t look like her “sisters”
Not exactly about the inside the show universe but my theory is that a lot of the writers are actually fanfiction authors using their fanfiction to test the waters about certain ideas I.e dragon Grimm, non-mammal based faunus, etc
I think General Ironwood will join Salem against Ozpin. Already Salem succeeded in converting over another headmaster + Ironwood now resents Oscar/Ozoin as seen in their last fight. He would certainly be a difficult adversary considering he could repiece parts of his robot army and slip through with atlas tech to damage Ozoibs reputation as a personal vendetta for not being totally honest from the beginning. Its not like he can lose any more than all that he's already lost. Would be cool to see Weiss in full strength to fight Ironwood when hes not morally strong ebough to stand for his own principles; and to rub salt in the wound it could be that moment that Weiss becomes the winter maden.

To be fair to the maiden theorists, stupidly on the nose naming is pretty on brand for RWBY. Adam *Taurus* is the bull faunus, Neo is named after neopolitan ice cream purely for the color palette, and Weiss's full name translated literally just means White Snow.

Up until volume 4, Qrow being Ruby's dad still made a little bit of sense since it would add to his tragedy that he thought his semblance wouldn't even allow him to have a family, specially when you consider that Summer was the one from the team that died, but the character has been so diluted by the plot, and shat on by Ruby that I think it would just make things worse.

For the little information present by volume 2 and 3, I definitely would've believed that theory,
No lie, but in my theory of Qrow being Rubys dad, i had it where Qrow went for a check up and his bad luck semblance kicked in, causing the doctor to give him the wrong report, it saying he is unable to have kids. Sad, he goes on a big drinking binge, and Summer tries to cheer him up. They both get drunk and in the heat of the moment slept together. Summer remembers that Qrow said he can't have kids so keeps it all a secret as she is still with Tai, not knowing the Ruby is Qrows kid and not Tais, while Qrow was so drunk he don't remember any of it.
Might not of been a good theory but at least that hoe i would explain him being Rubys dad.

I've said it plenty of times, but I'll say it again. If Team RWBY gets the powers, it'll likely go
Yang gets Spring from Raven, Ruby gets Fall from Cinder due to redemption or something, Weiss gets Winter from Winter, and that leaves Blake to get Summer from unnamed Summer Maiden.
I do think that it would make more sense for others to get the maiden powers though. Winter keeps the Winter powers, Cinder passes Fall to Emerald, Summer goes to Nora because winter is already taken and would fit with God of Thunder vibes, and Spring probably still goes to Yang, because who else would Raven think of when she dies, and I don't think Raven is joining the main team by the end.
