Thanks Gondwana and Matthew for this "masterpeace". Whenever it's chaos at home, I search for your music and ▶️ it in order to confort and relax everybody.
I've been listening to this kind of music for a looong time, and I have yet to dislike one of his albums. Even the more energetic parts with drums and flute in "Sending My Love" are so smooth. YES!!
Just listen to Miles Davis Kind Of Blue. This album is essentially a meditation on that. Using very similar chord progressions, harmonic changes and nuances.
after being an avant-garde rock, industrial, techno, punk etc. listener all my youth, late 30's found me listening mostly to jazz classics. now in my early 40s, I feel (at last) more open to discovering contemporary jazz artists. youtube decided that I start that with gondwana records, so I go along and.... enjoy. such a beautiful album. cheers from istanbul 🥂
@@michaellawson2080 yeahh, pretty much everything that belonged to urban -underground- culture. (being a 'genre' person is kind of a teenager concept for me)
@@nadjajade4256 I meant what you haven't heard. As a lover of jazz I have looked for music I haven't heard until it became a habit. Now I just discovered Matthew Halsall and I love it!! But keep going, there's so much to hear
Une découverte Matthew Halsall que je n’arrête pas d’écouter depuis trois jours ! Et tous ses albums sont bons même si celui-ci colle encore plus parfaitement. ✌️
The influence of Miles Davis in undeniable, particularly on Reflections... which is a meditation on Blue In Green. Is this a bad thing, not really. Loving Hasall's tone and the playing, compositions, album mix are all top notch.
Your love is good ❤

I just realized that the reason why I enjoy Matthew's albums so much is because of the kind of blue vibrations, always exquisite!
What is a blue variation?
@@quitanero I assume he's referring to the Miles Davis album "kind of blue"
@@birgireg yeah, that was the "kind of blue" vibration's case...
You can so feel Chet Baker's melancholie on Matthews' exhalations... Specially in Reflections

Wonderful smooth jazz!
I can not find any music that is as beautiful as Mr. Halsall's!
Try listening to the Necks - albums Sex, Aquatic, O.
