I'm reminded of Chet Baker and Miles Davis, some of my favorite trumpet players. Each part of the ensemble is actively contributing to the whole. ¡Excelente!
sadly Miles' closest successor died shockingly of coved...*Wallace* but there's still many more with a closer sound concept, "darker". The room reverb and recording is showing more overtones also, I'll listen more...
I was listening to Ep.2 Vision for Gondwana Records and heard song for Charlie. It's ironic how shortly before this song comes on, Matthew is talking about how it only takes a few seconds to know good music when you hear it. True, and it hit me slap bang in the face at 100mph with this song. This album has immediately jumped the cue and is number one for my go to album for deep listening this week. Is there anyway of getting the scores to song for Charlie? I'm learning the piano and dream of being able to play this now.
Lovely stuff and a gorgeous recording. I love the slowness and openness. Reminds me a bit of Kenny Wheeler, an old favorite of mine. Thanks so much for uploading this.
I notice that Gondwana is making a huge portion of the music free to hear on YT, but still for sale on other platforms. Have you found this has an effect on sales in general? A positive or negative impact? In any event I really appreciate it, and personally I think that your free music on YT is what got me buying albums on BC. Like, I may not have become aware of your work had it not been streaming for free lately.
I'm not sure how to answer, its just an impression I have, I know nothing of music theory. To me, this carries a certain "weight", a kind of robust energy that I think can appeal to some people who are into metal
God Bless GONDWANA.
The REAL DEAL.
Spiritual music of the highest caliber.
so so good. This music makes the world a better place and more liveable.

One of the few trumpet players with his own style, but a worthy successor to Miles Davis

There's only one Miles Davis ❤

Oh my God. Yes. It's thick with mystery and cool with a touch of spice.
Anything composed by Matthew is pure gold
This man is a class act. Such pedigree sound.
This is such wonderful music. I wish you much success.
How the horn comes in at 26:21is heavenly ☁
silk!
This is such wonderful success.I wish you much music. 🥰
Exquisite. And super lush in the extreme.
Agreed -- lush but still sincere. It's easy to overdo it and stray into actual decadence, but they manage to avoid that by the skin of their teeth.
I was trying to work while listening this album but on third track I started to dance, kind of flying. Beautiful music, thank you ❤🙏
❤ I kept myself picturing a person dancing in his office. Thank you.
Great composeee... thanks GentlemanService in work
Your use of stereo is unique and exiting. Obviously you're trying new things and that's exactly what we need. Thank you Gondwana.

Jazz for metal minds
What are the parallels? I'm genuinely curious.
