Didn't expect to sit through that but got intrigued by the great collection of equipment and the stories. The desert island camera quickly becomes 3. Good light 2024!
Happy new year brother. Thanks for this video. And Thank you for a year of lovely and inspiring videos. Wishing you and your family the best for the new year ahead. 🎊 ❤
I also want to say how wonderful your story telling is. Your videos are so different than what is out there. I’ve said it before but you’re a rarity and it’s amazing to see gear and art told through your perspective 👏🏽 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing, you made this really entertaining. A very artsy and lofty presentation while still being grounded and relatable. Your line, "still being fascinated by sunsets", struck me with a feeling which I am struggling to put into words. My v2 summilux is being delivered today, so very excited about that. Ended up getting it on recommendation of you and a few other creators.
Jeremy, you have no idea how grateful I am that You share your work and passion here! Your thoughts go to a deeper level about the story of photography. For anyone interested in this topic, this is a real treat! Thank you very much for this! I would love to have the opportunity to sit down and talk to you about "images and tools" someday ;) If you ever want to visit Poland, the door of my apartment are open to you :) I wish you a beautiful new year! Exciting adventures and continuous artistic development!
Really nice video - your enthusiasm is infectious! Also very nice prints to make clear the differences in your choices (and makes me want to print!). Thanks for sharing.
This was awesome. You have quickly become one of my favorite TH-cam channels. We all enjoy gear. But you marry the love of gear with the art of photography. Your images have an ephemeral, quiet beauty to them. And your camera collection rocks. Makes me want to get back into shooting film. Keep up the great work.
A wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your passion for photography and the meaning it brings to your life. Your description of the photos brought me back to my undergrad days when I took a course in art appreciation. 😊
Such a nice way to introduce your thoughts and prints. The shot from the Barnack Leica - the forest canopy is my favourite. It has something intangible and really quite special.
Hi Jeremy, can you make a video on your prints? I noticed you make them in a few different sizes. Could you recommend a printer and some tips on your workflow? Thanks!
Thank you Jeremy for sharing yourself, your work, and for presenting your favourite tools with so much passion, even the ones that wouldn't be with you on a desert island. Now I have two questions: the first is obvious, what did you picture with the speedgraphic? I don't have a clue. Second, have you ever felt you had the wrong camera with you? I've just came home from a skiing trip and my Olympus OM4 didn't appreciate the freezing temperature.
Thank you! Haha! To the first, the picture made with the speed graphic was off a handrail in a staircase of my childhood home. To the second, perhaps not when I'm out shooting, but leading up to a trip / project, the decision of what to commit to sometimes can get difficult. Do I continue on an existing body of work with 4x5? Or... Square? Or... small format.. The list goes on.. But once that decision is made, and I'm out, I find myself locked into the choice and I don't really think about the "should / could haves" because I'm too focused on being in the moment. Also, the context of the above is more-so in terms of format / focal length, not really reliability, like you faced with the OM4! On trips I've found it needful to bring a spare body and a dark bag.. I've had accidents happen too many times not to learn from those experiences - film rolls tearing in half in my camera while film advancing etc.
Great video! I don’t have as impressive a collection (Leica Q, Nikon FM2, Nikon D610, Nikon F100, Yashicaflex C, Yashicamat LM, and a bunch of lenses), but I feel the same emotional value for each.
I think this may be the most enjoyable video for me that you have made. A hands-on personal journey, beautifully produced with superb examples of your gear in use, explaining your passion so well, elegant in words and images. It was an essay every photographer-artist should inspire to emulate in thought and their work. Ahh…, the Speed Graphic… reminded me my own photographic journey first started with this camera with a very basics classic photography course when I was 16-years old in High School - 4x5 B&W film and Marshall Oils painting for ‘color photography’ (hay, this was at that long ago time ;-). You didn’t mention a lens for that Leica MP ‘desert camera.’ My photography mentor inspired me with the Leica M4 and v3 50mm Summicron he always had with him. I’ve had a v2 35mm Summilux with me now for 50+ years, and knowing its strengths and flaws so well the one lens that could be called my ‘signature’ lens, and of course the classic and beautiful form following function Leica M4 which has been with me just as long. I love the 6x6 square, and the Rolleiflex F 3.5, amazing lens matched with medium format, handling, classic German designed beauty, every imagine made has the potential to be ‘Art’ [if only the person behind the camera was better], and would be a good pairing 2nd or [hard to choose] only camera. All the Best in your continued journey and love your work with heart!
Thank you for the kind words!! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes agreed.. The m4 is a special one... I regret letting go of mine in favour of a light meter...! A beauty in to shoot with!
Jeremy great video and thanks for sharing. Been considering both the Plaubel 670/w options and I agree it’s only a matter of time when they break but buying mint and taking care of them they will last years just like my Widelux. I want to ask what rotary processing machine are you using. Think that would work using the Jobo expert tanks.
Brilliantly conveived and executed video. Fabulous cameras and wonderful photographs.🏆👍 My two essential cameras would be my Canon VT Deluxe with a Voightlander 21f4 Color Skopar ltm for black and white and my Linhof 617s Technorama with a 90mm f5.6 Schneider Kreuznach Super Angulon MC for color transparency.
@@jeremy-t A perfectly exposed 6x17 chrome viewed on a lightbox is an unequaled experience in photography. A portable, handholdable large format camera that delivers wide screen sweeping cinematic images on widely available 120 roll film.👍🏆
Amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing your journey! ☺️ it’s always so nice listening to you. Please keep making videos! Best wishes from Munich, Germany! 😊
I typically hate these gear collection videos but this one is different. More emotion, connection, soul. I really enjoyed this Jeremy thank you.
Thank you for the kind words.. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thanks for watching! Yes… Only a desert island with a dark room.
Just discovered your videos as I was getting back into photography myself. Happy to see you're doing good and thank you for making such great videos!

Glad you enjoyed it (:
Go Steph! 4x5 cropped 8x10 lol...i'm gonna have to borrow that. Love your story of your Heidosmat too.
Haha! Yes.. the Heidosmat is a unique lens!

Hey! Will keep that in mind (:
I heard about a repairman named Bo in Taiwan who fixes Ricoh GR film cameras. Worth looking into if your other one goes!
Yes! I’ve just send one to him.. Fingers crossed :)

Same!
If you ever knew an old newspaper photographers equipment, it looks like he was pounding nails with, but they always work well.
Beatiful❤
Thank you! (:
