When I was a teen I watched this all summer! My Dad was recently retired from the Army and he didn’t want me watching soaps. When school started back in September, my Dad started watching and got hooked and kept me updated on who did what and where when I got home from school! 😀😂😀
People forget that Robin Strasser used to play a young doctor on ALL MY CHILDREN, and sometime around 1979 or so, she took over the role of Dorian Lord on One Life to Live, a role that had previously been played by Nancy Pinkerton and Claire Malice. Robin Strasser is a very strong actress and interesting to watch.
This is a pleasant surprise to see Robin on AMC. She was AMAZING as Dorian on OLTL. Soaps are notorious for hiring various levels of talent but you can always tell the difference between trained actors and "models."
Where did these days go? Why did they have to go? I use to watch this with my grandmother and u better not say nothing while she was watching her story's lol wow I little running around playing up and down the street where did these days go? Take me back please! if only I could go back and know what I know now take me back please!!!
Oh my goodness, you sound like me. I grew up watching these with my grandma! I was 8 when we first started watching. And we only spoke during commercials!
Although it wasn't All My Children, my mother's "snow" was As The World Turns. It was the same thing though God help you if you talked during the show.
I love watching these shows. Brings me back to when i was a little girl. I remember sitting floor playing, and my cleaning and watching at the same time. Man, im old. Lol
Kendall and Bianca were her Karma for all the hell she gave Mona. If Mona had lived, she would have been laughing her butt off every time Erica called her crying about something crazy they did - LOL!
Although Strasser and Lucci were physically similar, especially in their youth, they are fundamentally different in acting style - Strasser is much more mature and worldly whilst Lucci has always retained a girlish-child aura.
OMG!!!! You so rock all my life i always have wanted to see erica's wedding and i remember seeing this on soapnet and missing it!!! Please add more weddings
It just dawned on me the connection that exists between Robin Strasser/Susan Lucci and Rachel Corey/Erica Kane. Agnes Nixon first created AMC in the mid-1960s (while she was apprentancing under Irna Phillips). Proctor & Gamble declined to produce it and she put in on the back burner. When she took over as head writer of AW she borrowed from her AMC story bible by using Erica Kane as a template for Rachel Davis. Strasser originated the role of Rachel. Its also worth noting that they are similar in appearance -- raven haired, dark piercing eyes, and an earthy, ethnic beauty.
You know, it's sad that SoapNet will never have these classic marathons again just to showcase more of (The OC, One Tree Hill, 90210, and The Fashtanista diaries) I'm sorry Y&R join soapnet after Soapnet stopped these classic marathons.
So here's an interesting fact..Robin Strasser played the original Rachel Davis on Another World, a character created by Agnes Nixon and a loose version of Erica Kane. Strassers version of Rachel was so seductive and hateful, she had to leave the show because people hated her that much because of her scheming lololol
Isn't it amazing how Fans took The Character too seriously. In The UK, some of them pay a high price for being a Villian. Mark Eden played Alan Bradley on Coronation Street who in the 1980's beat his Wife Rita played By Barbara Knox. It was very hard for him to find jobs because people looked at him as a Villain. Annette Badland who played Aunt Babe on EastEnders was Cray Cray as well the biggest irony is that she was considered to be so nice in real life. Larry Lamb played the sadistic Archie Mitchell on EastEnders and then plays a Sweet Neighbor on The Sitcom Gavin & Stacey.
While my mother was already watching All My Children I did start paying attention to the storylines unit the summer of 78 a little before my ten birthday with was a month after this aired on TV. I didn't remember Robin Strasser being on this show.
Francesca James played Marcy Wade on "One Life to Live." The character was killed off by the time Dorian first came to Llanview in 1973, played by Nancy Pinkerton.
"Agnes wrote the part of Dr. Christina Karras for me. She became a very gray character. But I could not go into the "Rachel" prototype because Erica Kane was on the same show. As a gray character, she wasn't good, she wasn't bad. She was neurotic. I told tJackie Smith of ABC that didn't think I had done my best work here. Jackie was trying to understand this "gray" concept. So she said, "I don't suppose you would want to play Dorian on One Life to Live, would you?" - Robin Strasser
Robin Strasser played Dr. Christina Karras on AMC. Prior to that, she originated the role of ANOTHER WORLD's Rachel, which she played from 1966-1971 (she returned for six months after her replacement did not work out. Strasser was then replaced by Victori Wyndham in 1972).
In retrospect this is pretty ridiculous! What kinda mother tells her daughter the day of the wedding to cancel it? And why would the priest schedule a baptism on the same morning he's doing a wedding? There is a church full of people and he says he is giving the bride 10 more minutes to arrive or he is cancelling the wedding? Was there nobody else in town they could have gotten to do the ceremony? He's awful!
It's funny that when Robin Strasser made an appearance on "All My Children" as Dorian, she didn't work with Susan Lucci, only David Canary & Anna Stuart. Elaine Princi's Dorian worked with Canary & Kate Collins.
There used to be a weird urban legend that Susan Lucci (Erica) and Robin Strasser (Christina here and Dorian on OLTL) were sisters and that Phyllis Diller was their mother! As ludicrous as that sounds, though, this video really highlights how much Lucci and Strasser really do look a lot like each other.
Actually Erica and Mona were created before Agnes Nixon began witing for Another World. She wrote the All My Children sttory bible in the 1960s and tried to sell the show but was unsuccessful. She became head writer for Another World in 1965 where she created Rachel and Ada. So in a sense, the character of Erica Kane was the inspiration for Rachel. Of course Erica didn't come to life onscreen until 1970 after the AMC story bible was accepted by ABC.
The only reason she got it done was because she was developing scar tissue on the inside and outside of her nose due to a car accident she was involved in during college. It was making it difficult for her to breathe.
I knew Tom was married to Brooke but not Erica .. dame. Erica married all the men in pine valley...sooooo many men so little time..... thank fully Jackson didn't get the Short end of the stick. .He deserved better. Sorry Erica... u were one of my favorite leading soap actress but I'm just being honest....

Every now and then I remember my grandmother , then I find something in the past that we enjoyed together . This was the number #1 daytime show .
People forget that Robin Strasser used to play a young doctor on ALL MY CHILDREN, and sometime around 1979 or so, she took over the role of Dorian Lord on One Life to Live, a role that had previously been played by Nancy Pinkerton and Claire Malice. And a short time after leaving Another World as Rachel. She still has the Rachel look from that time period. A wonderful treasure here
Johnny Gainor I loved her as Dorian Lord on One Life to Live❤️
She played Dr. Christina Karras...X
This is a pleasant surprise to see Robin on AMC. She was AMAZING as Dorian on OLTL. Soaps are notorious for hiring various levels of talent but you can always tell the difference between trained actors and "models."
@@jabjab4434 Yes. They gave a more elegant look when she moved into the Dorian role. I saw some scenes with her and Clint Richie around that time.
Where did these days go? Why did they have to go? Oh my goodness, you sound like me. I grew up watching these with my grandma! I was 8 when we first started watching. And we only spoke during commercials!
same here!!🤣 We couldnt cough or sneeze when those Stories were on!! We knew we better leave the room or wait till a commercial came on, lol !😂😂😂😂😂
Although it wasn't All My Children, my mother's "snow" was As The World Turns. It was the same thing though God help you if you talked during the show.
I remember started watching AMC in the early 70s. A girl I knew got me hooked on this show. Great memories 👌
I definitely share your heartache! Those were the very best times!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love watching these shows. Brings me back to when i was a little girl. I remember sitting floor playing, and my cleaning and watching at the same time. Man, im old. Lol
This was 4 years before I started watching AMC and OLTL. Erica and Dorian look lovely. Both have that natural, exotic beauty.
There was once a rumor that they were Sisters!
I love 70's soaps!
Mona and Erica are totally giving me Erica and Kendall vibes 😁
Kendall and Bianca were her Karma for all the hell she gave Mona. If Mona had lived, she would have been laughing her butt off every time Erica called her crying about something crazy they did - LOL!
wow I never noticed that Kendall looks just like young Erica
i love all my children, i was born watching it and i'm 26 years old.
Although Strasser and Lucci were physically similar, especially in their youth, they are fundamentally different in acting style - Strasser is much more mature and worldly whilst Lucci has always retained a girlish-child aura.
There was actually a rumor for years that Lucci and Strasser WERE sisters... but the punchline was that Phyllis Diller was their mother!!!
😂😂. yeah i grew up hearing they were sisters also.
They were both beautiful hot women.. i don't get the Phyllis Diller thing
I remember. Lol
Oh,I had tottaly forgotten all about that.I heard that too.🤨
Back when the entire cast were present on big event days!
OMG!!!! You so rock all my life i always have wanted to see erica's wedding and i remember seeing this on soapnet and missing it!!! Please add more weddings
You just gotta love Pheobe!
I agree with you. I am also glad to see that so many people in this flick that are not here anymore will always be imortal because of this show.
This is so fun to watch. I wish I could see all of Erica's weddings.

I turned six years old on Sept 5th. I remember watching this with my mother and babysitter. The wedding episode was a big deal.

Erica used to be SOMETHING ELSE! LOL
Wow this is dorian, i did not recognize her, she looked so young i thought she was Susan Lucci, robin and susan do look alike i agree
Oh my goodness, Charles & Phoebe!

She was an incredible Rachel Davis .
Thank you for reminding me! I need to display this.
Tom and Mark are HOT!!!!
That's Pete O'Neill from OLTL when he was on back in the 80s! Wow!
Back when All My Children was.at the top of its game.and the Nielson ratings
While my mother was already watching All My Children I did start paying attention to the storylines unit the summer of 78 a little before my ten birthday with was a month after this aired on TV. I didn't remember Robin Strasser being on this show.
I didn't know she played on AMC....wow....from diva to another....I could not picture her and Lucci on the same set
Natalia cigliuti and I were born the same day - Devon Sawa (Final Destination 1, Idle Hands) is a day younger than us.
Why can’t we have a reboot of AMC in 2023?
I miss frank, nancy, charles, phoebe, mona, tom and all the others

3rd. First was Jeff Martin, 2nd was Phil Brent.

This episode was a week before my sister was born.
I did not know Dorian ( Robin Strasser ) was on AMC before OLTL
Yup. Robin was also the original Rachael on Another World.
No. That was Frank's second wife, Caroline Murray Grant (played by Patricia Dixon). Frank would subsequently remarry Nancy (Lisa Wilkinson).
Robin Strasser was quite the young cutie. I only remember her in her MILFY days as Dorian on OLTL.
Go Mona!🤗
Mona was a G. Erica got that bitch DNA from somewhere. Mona just controlled hers better. Erica's was out-of-control!
Mona broke up a marriage..not so innocent
I didn't know she was All My Children before OLTL.
Me too, except I'm 33... I all but remember this wedding! LOL! I actually DO have vague recollection of Cliff and Nina's big wedding in the park.
"Dorian" aka Robin Strasser played Christina Karras from 1977-1979 and was involved with Jeff Martin. (Erica's hubby #1)
I started watching in 1980. I never saw Erica and Tom’s wedding. Why did they break up?
@brentad2004 This is Robin Strasser, not Susan Lucci.
"Mascro1977 (2 weeks ago)I miss frank, nancy, charles, phoebe, mona, tom and all the others" -- ME TOO!
In retrospect this is pretty ridiculous! What kinda mother tells her daughter the day of the wedding to cancel it? It's funny that when Robin Strasser made an appearance on "All My Children" as Dorian, she didn't work with Susan Lucci, only David Canary & Anna Stuart. Elaine Princi's Dorian worked with Canary & Kate Collins.
I wonder if the scenes of Princis Dorian with David Canary and Kate Collins are on here somewhere? I’d love to watch them!
There used to be a weird urban legend that Susan Lucci (Erica) and Robin Strasser (Christina here and Dorian on OLTL) were sisters and that Phyllis Diller was their mother! the first of Erica's million marriages.
It was her 3rd, she had already been married to Jeff and Phil.
Hey! That was dorian lord. Lol
And Dorian have Vikki hell for years! Love Robin Strasser!
Thats One life to live not AMC

@Lorsonline well...later it is Lucci. Back in the days when she hadn't fixed her nose. She should have left it alone, it gave her character.
The only reason she got it done was because she was developing scar tissue on the inside and outside of her nose due to a car accident she was involved in during college. It was making it difficult for her to breathe.
I wonder what happened on one life to live that day
Wow...always surreal seeing Robin Strasser playing a non flamboyant character. Shame she didn't enjoy playing that because she was good playing subtle
WOW! This was about 29 years ago. Nevertheless, Erica is STILL hot and keeping up shyt!
OneDayAfterAnother and now about 42 years =]
Wow she looks a lot like Kendall could pass for real mother and daughter!
Is that Robin Strasser?
@Messylin Erica and Dorian? I wonder which one would be the wicked sister... One thing's for sure, it'd be a regular clash of the daytime divas! XD
Oh phoebe
OOPS. I meant Victoria Wyndham.
What # wedding is this for Erica? 1st, 2nd?
3rd
Did she have Kendal soon after?
She had Kendall when she was 14; years before this.
Whatever happened t o Mark? Is he still alive? Thanks in advance for any help!
In response 7 years later, mark and ellen left the show together.
@@davidbrunson4794 Yeah.... and Mark LaMura passed on a couple of years ago, rest his soul.
Who is Natalia Cigluti?
Robin Strasser and Erica look a like back then
I thought that was erica at the beginning!
What the heck is dorian lord doing on amc?LMAO
@Lorsonline Keep watching she's in it(at 4:50),and she looks good :)
Susan Lucci was gorgeous here... Whoa
I knew Tom was married to Brooke but not Erica .. dame. The 70s, even :)
Susan Lucci sure was HOT back then, and still beautiful today!
Christina was moody!🤨
