Two of the best human beings to ever work in Hollywood: Robert Osborne and Angela Lansbury.

Robert Osborne was an elite interviewer. He treated his guests with dignity and class .Gotta watch his interview of Angela Lansbury
She may not have been the biggest star in Hollywood but she gave some of the most memorable performances

I am glad she was finally able to get the Honorary Oscar. Now, while there is still time, Academy, please strongly consider Maureen O'Hara- who has never been nominated for an acting Oscar, but has appeared in Oscar winning films from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, How Green Was My Valley, Miracle on 34th Street, The Quiet Man, and The Parent Trap. She is stateside now, in her mid-90s, has still strong recollections of her time in film, and she deserves recognition for her talents and her contributions to the film industry.

I, too, agree that Angela Lansbury deserved this honorary Oscar. And I also agree that Maureen O'Hara is equally deserving. Good night, look at that short list of credentials listed in outinsider's post. Maybe we should all petition Robert Osborne to help with this. She's an international treasure--it's past time!

I wholeheartedly agree with the proposal that Maureen O'Hara should receive the Governor's Oscar for career achievement. There was also an effort to give the same award to Doris Day, however, I believe that Day would be extremely reluctant to attend at this stage of her life. With respect to Lansbury, her crowning film achievement was the portrayal of Ms. Iselin in Frankenheimer's "The Manchurian Candidate". Sinatra, to his credit, after lobbying for Lucille Ball for the role, recognized Lansbury's artistry and was instrumental in casting her in this classic.

I agree that Lansbury was stellar (chillingly so) in "The Manchurian Candidate." She is incredibly versatile. Doris Day is also versatile and deserving. O'Hara is in her nineties, but she did attend a birthday celebration in her honor in August, so I think she would at the very least, accept via video feed. She is not a recluse.

I was there at Grauman's theater when Osborne interviewed her before they showed "Gaslight". She was utterly charming.

He reminds me of Robert Wagner, for some reason. Not just because they have the same first name.
