    For those asking if Bryoni is Indian,she is definitely of a Indian descent. South Africa has the largest Indian population outside Indian in the world ,although the Indian ethnic group is one of minority groups in South Africa.

    Melissa deserved a Top3 placement. However, scoring holistically, including Crown Chases, the Top 3 makes sense. Natasha and Bryoni were super consistent. Nande was the most improved. Melissa lost her light in Crown Chasers and everyone noticed it. A Miss SA or national ambassador, should not be noticeably "off", the way she was during the show. Bryoni's consistency will be very beneficial for her at MU.

    I absolutely hate that Melissa didn’t place on top 3… 😮I mean really… but I will be supporting Bryoni… I hope Lalela becomes her walking coach. And maybe Zozi can help her with speech. Or Ndavi. Ndavi is a great speaker as well. With great preparation she can do well at Miss Universe. We know those Latinas and Asians don’t play games. They come extremely prepared because it’s been their childhood dream to become Miss Universe. I mean they come with 17 suitcases as well 😂😂😂😂 but honestly I hope the organization trains her, Miss Universe is in November.

      Perfectly said! I assume Melissa was ignored on the basis of a principle stance of not maintaining continuity, organization wanted a different prototype of a winner. So they picked up a worthy WINNER,not necessarily the best performer on that top5 Q & A session. Melissa answer on that top5 was arguably the BEST amongst all of them, followed by that of Nande. Melissa was going to upstage Natasha on that top3 had she got included, hence she was snubbed. So they had to get rid of her. But they underestimated Nande,she came out gun-blazing on that top3. Nande & Homba certainly need to come back! They're DANGEROUS!

    Luis : your comments & views are so relevant & as an South African now in England & a long time fan & follower of Miss South Africa since the early 70’s I love the fact that you have so much positive things to say about how impressed you are about the relevant questions from the judges & how finalists responded! I truly believe that the Miss South Africa Organisation has been groundbreaking over the past 2 years with their Crown Chasers reality show ! The rest of the beauty pageant world needs to take note of & also how inclusive the organisation has been of transgender, married & mother’s participants allowed to enter ! Am looking forward to hearing from you on my comments!

      Oh Luis , by the way my favourite to win this year’s Miss South Africa was obviously Natasha: a sentimental favourite since 2020 & so happy that she eventually won ! I’m happy with the Top 3 though disappointed that Melissa just seemed to have faded in comparison: she was my choice for 2nd ! Confident that Bryoni & Nande are going to keep South Africa’s flag flying high in whichever capacity they May represent on the Global pageant world !

    Homba is nott really a pageant model, she did explain at some point that she is not very much farmiliar with heels, hence her no-to-good walk🥺 but it's nothing that training and dedication can't fix.....I love love love your reviews, I kept coming here to check if you have pre-hotpicks for Miss South Africa

  • @TheeGate
    @TheeGate ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Luis your commentary on the technicalities of their walking was correct. However, what many people don't understand about South Africa, which makes our country so good in pageants recently, is that we choose an intelligent and eloquent speaker FIRST and then we train them to walk. Other countries that don't do as well chooses girls that can walk, and then tries to teach them how to speak... which is much harder to do! That is the reason why our Miss SA contestants do not have world-class walks on final night but come international pageant time, they are well-rounded queens. Hopefully that helps.Much love❤

    • @LuisPortelles
      @LuisPortelles  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree with you! I’m really not worried cause I know what you just explained is very true 🤍 There is room for improvement on the walk, but I am confident the training will be more than enough to prepare them!

    Loved Melissa's perfomance and thought she would've slayed in top 3, but obviously the Miss SA organisation couldn't make it look like anyone was actually competition for their star this year.
    Interesting that it is unclear whether Miss SA still has rights to hold the Supra licence! I did not even think of that.
    It is a funny choice of words that Luis said Natasha is performing with "ease". Of course it will be easy for her to perform when she already knew she was gonna win.
    I knew Natasha was gonna win from the moment she posted her intro video. Miss SA organisation was too predictable this year.
    As for Bryoni going to MU: I feel terrible that she probably wont get beyond top 16 (if she makes it to finals at all) because the organisation has made it clear they do not want runner-ups. She would've been a great fit for Supra as well!
    Anyways, every crown has its queen and MSA decided their's is Natasha. Who knows why they did this? Perhaps because of the changes in the international competition they decided to watch, wait and choose Natahsa eho cannot got ro MU anyways.

    • @mmeshikgaphola419
      @mmeshikgaphola419 ปีที่แล้ว

      We were told the same thing about Zozibini Tunzi when she was crowned Miss SA 2019 & subsequently sent to the Miss Universe. South Africa does not sent model wannabes to international pageants,we send transformational leaders who speaks with eloquence, intellect & substance.Then there's intense preparation to polish their pageantry basics such as walks,posture & stage presence,which is much easier to do than teaching a delegate how to SPEAK with substance. That's what make South Africa a modern century pageant powerhouse,the formula has repeatedly proven to work, meticulously. It so funny😂😂😂 how the Asians & Latinos are so overly obsessed with shallow pageants basics such as a WALK as if the winner of any international pageant would spent the whole of their reign on the catwalk stage? Like, seriously,you guys are super WEIRD! The winners of any international pageant,spend over 90% of their time, SPEAKING on different platforms. That's why the Miss SA is prioritizing that important element of their pageantry over EVERYTHING else! But you would still do not get it.
