Hi Dani, I'm from South Africa and love how much research you put into episode. Nailed it! For the first time ever I'm totally conflicted as to who I'd like as a winner. Natasha is the obvious choice, she's improved so much. Melissa is a total package. I'm slowly also leaning towards Bryoni, I'd love a south African Indian representative, it's been a while plus she's so intelligent.
I think many are forgetting the purpose of Miss SA and it’s not to find a queen to go to miss universe. Going to miss universe is one of the duties of a Miss SA. The 1st runner up will perform that duty if a Miss SA is unable to perform that duty. The four pillars of miss SA is what’s important in my opinion. Secondly the sponsors of miss SA are not the same sponsors of MU so i doubt they care about the representative getting a spot at MU although it may be great exposure for our sponsors if a delegate goes to MU(designers etc). Miss SA selects one of the most incredible woman in SA and a placement at MU should not define us because we know the woman of value our organisation produces..so I trust them to make the best decision for South Africa not MU.
If they dont care about Miss Universe why do they spend millions every year inviting MU Queens. Only France is the only country that does crown specifically for international competitions. Miss SA will do everything and anything for MU. If you dont see that then l dont know.
Finally someone has said it! We are miss SA not miss universe so our aim is to not fulfill miss universe visions nor missions we’re sticking to our 4 pillars of Miss South Africa!
I wouldn't mind if Natasha wins cause she's just amazing like so consistent and it shows like she can be Miss South Africa! Another fav for the crown is Melissa!! I love her so much and I def think she can easily represent SA and MU She is at that universe level!!
I really think Melissa is going to win it all! She almost won in 2020 and she’s even more prepared and stronger ‼️Mellisa can bring back a CROWN 👑 for them
Great review, Dani ! I think my contenders for the crown are Natasha and Melissa. However, I think they're going to go with Melissa (and Natasha for 1st runner-up so she can go to Supra) just so they can say the winner is going to MU.
@@alloallie every one has their opinion, but Melissa is definitely not the strongest girl. Even the judges mentioned in episode 5 that she wasnt doing well, she ended in the bottom 3. I doubt she will win, Homba has a better chance

I loooove that they’re basically auditioning them to do what will be the job. To me this is the future of pageantry. The glamour isn’t lost, it’s still there, but it’s so much more than that and what’s expected of titleholders is more, so why not show the world that too?!
I've been hooked watching the weekly Crown Chasers - Such a fantastic show and I think all countries need to take heed to how they conduct their pageants. It's just Amazing!! Great commentary Dani!!

I wish most fans can note what you said about consistency, mostly philipines and indians fans are very obsessed with their Queens to win all fast track challenges. they even bully other contestants who wins some fast tracks. The queen has to be consistent since she can never be number 1 with everything..miss world 2022, Karolina also noted on that. a queen must know which fast track they are good with and use that to standout.
Hi Dani, I love this great review! I think Natasha is a worthy winner this year. With the risk of sending a runner up to miss.Universe, I think what may happen is that Melissa wins and goes to miss.Universe and Natasha places 1st runner-up and goes to miss.Supranational. With Africa doing so well in miss.Supranational (Namibia winning in 2021 and South Africa winning in 2022), it will be great to have South Africa winning the 2024 title. If Melissa wins miss.Universe, we will have 2 titles in the bag!
I feel like Miss South Africa will choose their legacy over the changes (rumors) of the Miss Universe recently. They will still crown the most worthy and deserving candidate. It's either they'll give up the franchise or they did offer a higher bid to be able to send a Runner Up at Miss Universe (since sending a runner up seems to be the rumored problem). or by this case they'll send Shudu, Miss South Africa 2020 as she's technically a Winner (but only a former). Don't know the goal of Natasha if she'll be aiming the winner or just a runner up for the Supranational. It's just sad that if she aims to win, it's 50/50 because of the situation.
I feel every girl who enters Miss SA their goal is to win and become Miss SA (it's basically a legendary institution). The Miss universe / SUPRA titles are just secondary. Even though we havr been placing in the past 10 years... But the core goal of Miss SA entrants is to become Miss SA and be part of a long list of memorable admirable iconic women in SA
Fun Fact: Christy McGarry was Ms Philippines at Ms. Intercontinental 2010 where she was in the top15. She later joined BB.Pilipinas 2015 and she got the Ms Intercontinental title. She then represented again Philippines and took home 1st runner up at Ms Intercontinental 2015
I love Miss SA. As others have eluded to, I think there is some uncertainty for potential placements with Natasha in the mix, since she cannot compete again at MU, but also given the fact that the new MUO ownership seems to have expressed their desire for only the national competition winner to compete at MU. So yeah, I feel like there is a major consensus that Natasha would likely be heading to Supra, but what that means for placements will be seen on finals night, or maybe even after, I think. Also, I love Natasha and am still not over her non-placement at MU!! 😁
It crossed my mind that a conversation was had between the Miss SA organisation and the MU organisation regarding Natasha's participation. Imagine her going to MU and winning? Pia Wurtzbach (3 tries at Miss Philipines before winning MU) on steroids! I wouldn't mind her winning at all but my money is still on Melissa.

But considering how the pageant is set up I can start seeing where her decision came from. I don't understand why you say other contestants have to aim for runner up in order to go to Miss universe. If they win the crown, they will represent SA at Miss universe. The issue here is if Natasha wins, will the miss universe organisation allow a runner up to compete at Miss universe? Dani, I think your last point is not entirely accurate. The contestants don't need to aim lower than the Miss SA title to qualify for Miss Universe. Regardless of who wins the Miss SA title, the organization will assign which woman will go to Miss Universe, Miss World, or Miss Supranational. If another contestant, other than Natasha wins Miss SA, the winner might go to Miss Universe, depending on the assignment given by the Miss SA organization. Great content from you, Dani.
@@DaniWalker I agree. Miss Universe is a job interview as a brand ambassador. Pageants have changed, but some fans forgot that the contestants' overall performance was judged for the last round.

Danny I have a Question. Why U haven’t done one of PR that the Final is August 24. Today was interview. It’s frustrating because no one absolutely no one talks about PR knowing that is a Power House WITH 5 MU CROWNS TOP 3 .
The new CEO, of Miss Universe, has made it clear she does not want a national runner-up competing at Miss Universe. Consequently, if Natasha is crowned Miss SA she cannot compete at Miss Universe and consequently South Africa will not have a representative!
Well Miss South Africa isn't only about going to Miss Universe the winner of Miss SA has her own duties and that's what Natasha is aiming for! She wants to be Miss South Africa exclusively Natasha
If Natasha wins, I think the MU owner should understand if a runner up is sent by SA coz its their rules that say a contestant cannot compete twice otherwise Natasha would go.
Miss France has an unusual pageant schedule that often overlaps their national final with Miss World and Miss Universe. According to the titleholder's contract, they have to be at the next competition to pass on the title to their successor, due to scheduling conflicts they would be unable to compete at either of the two pageants. So a titleholder could switch years with another (like what Flora Coquerel and Camille Cerf did in 2014 and 2015, as well as Clémence Botino and Amandine Petit in 2020 and 2021), the organization could appoint a past titleholder to go in their place (Maeva Coucke going in place of Vaimalama Chaves in 2019), send their first runner-up, or even delay going until they're ready (Diane Leyre going to MU this year)
Winner always went to Miss World and Miss Universe but since both pageants are now close together the winner ends up going to one. So Natasha will go to Miss World or Miss Supranational.

@@juliosoafiavy3170Shudu’s reign is over… it has been over for a year now. There’s absolutely no way they can send her to MU
@@ofentseshezi9507 So is Diane, Miss France 2022
But Diane is competing in MU now.
12:41...true.
Natasha am sorry but thats enough...give a chance to others girls .....she represents South Africa in miss universe 2020 enough .....much respect
Well Miss South Africa isn't only about going to Miss Universe the winner of Miss SA has her own duties and that's what Natasha is aiming for! She wants to be Miss South Africa exclusively
Natasha
So is it a rule that because she already competed in Miss universe she can’t compete again in miss universe?
Correct, you can only compete at Miss Universe once.
How many girls left now?
I think 8 but they'll cut to 7 for the last episode of the show before the on stage competition.
@@DaniWalker The public then gets to vote 1 girl back which will make a top 8 on final night.
why aim for a runner up if you can be Miss South Africa and go to Miss Universe. just sayin ✌🏻☺️
Mike Drop will decide.
❤️🇿🇦👑
The girls who compete at Miss Universe representing Nigeria where always runner ups to the winner coz the winner goes to Miss World
That’s why they don’t place at MU
If Natasha wins, she can’t compete anymore to Miss Universe, right? If she wins she either goes to Miss World or Miss Supranational.
She would go to Supra because they no longer have a World franchise.
If Natasha wins, I think the MU owner should understand if a runner up is sent by SA coz its their rules that say a contestant cannot compete twice otherwise Natasha would go.
No. France or Vietnam are not able to send RU un Universe for exemple. Only winner
Miss France has an unusual pageant schedule that often overlaps their national final with Miss World and Miss Universe. According to the titleholder's contract, they have to be at the next competition to pass on the title to their successor, due to scheduling conflicts they would be unable to compete at either of the two pageants. So a titleholder could switch years with another (like what Flora Coquerel and Camille Cerf did in 2014 and 2015, as well as Clémence Botino and Amandine Petit in 2020 and 2021), the organization could appoint a past titleholder to go in their place (Maeva Coucke going in place of Vaimalama Chaves in 2019), send their first runner-up, or even delay going until they're ready (Diane Leyre going to MU this year)
My top 3 are:
Natasha
Anke
Mellisa
I don’t think they will crown any returnee, they may be runners up but not the winner🤞
Winner always went to Miss World and Miss Universe but since both pageants are now close together the winner ends up going to one. So Natasha will go to Miss World or Miss Supranational.
Miss SA no longer has the licence to Miss World so Natasha can only go to Supra whether she wins or became runner up
@@nozewu thx for the update I didn’t know.
Spoiler...a dark horse will win Miss SA...I'm just saying.
Homba!

Guess I was wrong...oh well best wishes to the new Miss SA.
