My favourite Dvorak symphony, beautifully played here. It is full of references to nature, especially the bird calls of a spring woodland. Very moving music indeed!
Yep, In my opinion, this is definitely Dvorak's best symphony, although I think the eighth runs it close. Amy, Can I invite you to listen to Rachmaninov's 2nd symphony, if you haven't heard it before? It may oust this one from your No.1 spot for best symphony ever?
Magnificent! With respect to some comments, expression of a soul, not language. Romantic, political, social and very personal comments. Thank you for the post.
+MashedTubers I think he was commending Maestro Belohlavek & the Prague Symphony. He thought it was a beautiful symphony. I think he preferred the Raphael Kubelik version.

Dvorak was younger. He once said he aspired to "write a symphony worthy of Brahms". I think this is one of several that achieved that goal. Brahms helped advance his career.Let us be grateful to both!
A wonderful performance musically but the sound/conducting is out of synch by about a second, which gives the impression the maestro is always behind the beat and the musicians are not looking at him.
@@gorankatic40000bc An overriding motif like a musical idea that makes repeat appearances throughout a movement or entire symphony. I would have to force myself to listen to this ugly piece again to identify any main musical subjects. I expected more from Dvorak after hearing the 6th, 8th, Viola Concerto and Carnival Overture. It sounds like it was written by someone else.
@@Bob31415 Well I'm just saying that if you can't hear any main musical subjects as you said then you are deaf. I played this symphony several times and it is really underrated. I am not saying it is the best symphony Dvořák wrote. I prefere the 8th and 9th symphony but there is something special in this symphony at least for me as a musician and a horn player. That's what music is about anyway.
@@viktorrehorovsky5736 I'm sorry I came across like I did but when you said I was deaf well I guess I got upset. Anyway I'm just saying it didn't appeal to me when our city orchestra played it a couple of years back (I play violin in said orchestra). As for Dvorak I absolutely love #8 and also very much like #6. My impression was that #7 lacked coherence and frankly melody. Maybe I need to hear it a few more times. And I agree. Of course music is subjective.

best symphony ever.....i can't stop crying
I fully agree!
The Dvorak 7th Symphony is my favorite symphony. I can relate to your feelings my fellow Earthling.

I understand, this brings tears to my eyes.
Wonderful performance by Jirí Belohlávek who sadly passed away last week
me finding a very good song only to find out the guy who did the performance in this video died over 6 years ago:
Horn solo at 1:30 amazingly beautiful
RIP J.Belohlavek
Thank you, first horn is my father

classic4ever Would you speak English, I can't understand a word that you're saying.

+Hugh Lusignan I prefer that he'd say that in English, the language of power.
+MashedTubers Well you can always use Google translator. He is quite entitled to comment in his (presumably) native tongue. (French)
learn some French!

I have an impression to be listening Brahms sometimes... Who influenced who?
They influenced each other and were good friends when they were alive.

I always got a more Saint Saëns vibe from this symphony, but it is very Bramsian...

This music is now also known as The England Symphony!
the England symphony is no. 8

Younger Bělohlávek seems much more pathetic in his gestures and movements)
The orchestra is great. The symphony itself is abysmal. It is disjointed with no overriding motif. Can't hold a candle to his 8th.

@@Bob31415 Well then you are deaf.
@@viktorrehorovsky5736 No. You just have lousy taste. Why don't you take a music appreciation class because this symphony sucks.
