Video update !!! The issue kept coming back at random times for about a month after this call. I went back and updated the software with tech view as it was 5 or 6 updates behind . This resolved the problem and we haven’t had the issue since. Apparently some of the major updates in newer software version specifically pertained to EXV malfunctions like this .
On the older firmware it would attempt to "unload" the compressors if head pressure was too high (from failed fan or blocked condenser) by opening the EEVs to prevent going into high head trip as a compromise between run integrity and preventing compressor damage. This of course can cause it to go into low/negative SH and trip the Low SH alarm anyway. This is one of those rare cases where the symptom is disconnected from the cause by automation that fails to monitor itself.

@@dfwhvac Funny how "edge cases" that affect the PID tuning for those EEVs are more real world than the software engineers expected. Stuff is harsher in the real world than engineers seem to ever expect. 🤣 While you can squeeze a few more percent efficiency with software, they need to remember that in those few percent there be dragons.
It can be also,,,something about water flow ,,,check the inlet strainer,,,,and clean,,,that can be cause low SH ,,,,and put latop,,and check the operation,,,it see what it dos,,,😊
Very true , we had been here a couple weeks prior to me filming this video , pulled all strainers , checked water flow , nothing out of the ordinary , pump not cavitated - anyways a little while after this call I came back with laptop and downloaded newest version of software with tech view and it resolved the issue - apparently there are lots of fringe cases and a lot of the updates had to do with eev control - the current software on the machine was 5 or 6 series behind - after software update the issue never returned . Great comment , thanks for watching - ( responding from my personal account - DFW HVAC

Sorry - I came out a couple weeks after to pull and check strainers and water flow
