As a single autistic mom myself, I deeply appreciate these normal mundane vlogs more than you know! It's so lonely being a mom to autism and watching your vlogs feels like catching up with a friend. I suffer from restless nights with my little one too so it's just so refreshing to know I'm not alone 🙏❤️❤️
Thanks for saying that, when I'm editing these types of vlogs I feel like I'm rambling and not sure if it will be interesting or relatable to anyone. But I'm glad its providing that for you!
Kaitlin, I am VERY interested in your content. I am a single mom, widower, who is 40 with a 4 year old son with autism. Thank you for being so real with your feelings. It is frustrating not sleeping, having to get up early the next day to work & being the only one having to manage your son's behaviors. It's tough, frustrating & makes us feel helpless. Thank you for normalizing this other side that us solo parents need to hear that WE are human too & feel feelings like frustration, irritability sometimes. We can't always be positive. I admire you so much & look forward to seeing your videos. ❤
Love the wood work shop!!! What a fantastic idea!! My students have a variety of special needs. I think that a few of the families I work with would love this!!
Kaitlin always interested in your content. You are a very amazing person and love your parenting vibe. You give Kaidale your "All" and for sure sleepless nights must have to be frustrating. I am glad you find solace in an activity even after a messy night... Kaitlin I do declare please keep vlogging
We’re right in the middle of the “recovery period”, my 6 year old son has sleep issues once or twice every months or so. When it happens it throws everything off like you said. I remind myself it’s not his fault. Anyway your everyday vlogs like this one are great. I love them so much!
It’s great seeing you both!! My 2 yr old grandson was just diagnosed with having Autism… Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.. It has helped me
I'm glad you are back making vlogs! Sleep and autism is real interesting. I hope it gets better soon, so important. I hope you speak more about kaidales teenage interests, and what the schooling situation is this year. What areas is he making progress in? What are some goals? Is he going to try to read/write/type? He's in middle school, how's that going? How's his communication and social skills. Does he have a friend? Just throwing out future topics
As a fellow runner, I totally get it!! Running is such a great stress relief! That trail area looks awesome!! LOVE when you find those fun adventures!! Ya'll look like you are having a blast!! Hope you all have a fabulous week!!! LOVE your videos!!
I can only imagine how much harder it is being a single parent ❤ You are doing a great job and doing your best. I have hubby on those hard days when I just need time to myself. I'm so glad you live near your parents and they help you a lot 🥰
You are such a great Mana and I’m glad you had “your way” on this day. I believe that Kaidale will grow up and be totally back into his old favorite things 🥰☀️♥️ that’s what my kids did anyways, so I’m hoping for you 🫶🫶
Super excited to see a couple of new uploads from you. Looking forward to seeing more from you guys! Sorry for the tiredness, our daughter does have blips like that from time to time.
Oh yeah and puberty is hitting hard I'm sure!!!!! He's growing up!!! You are so awesome, keeping each other busy and active. Never stop! We explore and do things with our daughter all the time!!! :)
I’ve watched your videos for years and I wish I could give you your “flowers” , so to speak. You are a GREAT mom and I can feel your effort and love through the screen. You’re doing great , Sending u love !! 💐 💐
Kaitlyn, I’m always interested in your vlogs! I have an almost 12 yo son with autism and he’s also mid-verbal and Kaydale reminds me a lot of my kid. ❤
For some reason I speak the comment, and then I hit the arrow, and it doesn't show up crazy man and very frustrating. I wanted to tell you that I am so blown away that I found this video I've been thinking about you off and on all day today no kidding, for some reason you have not been showing up in my notifications so I unsubscribed just now and resubscribe and hit the Bell to all and hopefully I can get all of your content and I wanted to let you know that you don't need to do anything flashy or interesting what's interesting and awesome is a video where you're doing and just sharing your thoughts talking about things whatever. There's no pressure on making it a good video whatever you put out is good because I love both of you so much and it's always great to see you guys hanging out❤
I just started back uploading again so that may be why you haven’t seen any notifications before. But that’s funny because I was just thinking about you too and hoping everything was going ok! As always, I very much so appreciate your comment and your support of my content💞🫶😊
I’ve missed your vlogs, and was very happy to see these last few videos post! I think it’s amazing how you’ve made loads of progress on personal goals, and a happy for you. Keep on keeping on! We’ll watch whatever you post. It’s like catching up with an old friend. 😊
You are a wonderful mother Kaitlin. Don't be hard on yourself. I have terrible quality of sleep and I feel crappy most days because of it. My children are grown, I can imagine how hard it is for you to function and take care of your responsibilities with such a lack of sleep. I hope your parents are still nearby and able to give you support🤗💐
Thank you for being so understanding. It is one of the areas I find the most difficult. But honestly, the exercising does help me feel better and give me energy.
Listen Kaitlyn from one single mom of an autistic kid to another I understand why you don't Vlog a lot it's hard to be a single mom especially with you having a full-time job on top of being a single mom to an autistic child it's a lot to deal with give yourself some Grace because we don't expect you to be Superwoman okay none of us are thank you for the videos you do put out especially when you talk about challenges you're having with your son and a lot of times I can understand because I'm going through the same challenges like the sleep thing I totally get it I have to drop the house and cat nap too because there's times where he just doesn't go to sleep or there's times where he'll wake up at 3 a.m. actually that's every night waking up at 3 a.m. to stem and it's let's just say it is what it is and we have to deal with what we have to deal with and if you don't have time to log every day so big you don't have time we love you to pieces and we think you're a great person and a wonderful mom so again please give yourself that Grace❤
Awe thank you so much. I can totally relate to the stimming at 3 am lol Kaidale does that a lot. He just wakes up in the middle of the night and has a full on party. I appreciate your support!
Kaitlyn… I am always interested! I love watching your Vlogs. Although I’m sure you’re frustrated as heck you handle things really well. Anyway, I miss you.
My son also had huge sleep issue, melatonin helps a lot, he's now going to sleep at 9pm and waking up at 7am every day, even on weekends. We have a routine, he starts getting ready for bed at 7pm. I know there will be new challenges when he's teenager (currently 8). But what's best for us is boring consistent life. I used to write a blog, travel in a van with him, but couldn't push myself any longer. So I got depressed and perimenopause started around 35. Overall, for many women after 30 years old, body is getting weaker, loosing muscle mass etc. So take care of yourself, your son will need you to be in a good shape
Yea I agree with you. In some ways, parenting becomes easier but in a lot of ways it becomes more difficult the older we get. I hear you about being consistent. His sleep issues are 10 x worse during summer break.
It's pretty hot this time of year for camping. It doesn't really start to cool down until after Christmas. But we may go out for a quick weekend trip sometime soon!
lucky for me I don't ever recall having sleepless nights with my guy. wait a minute now that I think about it.. just last Thursday/Friday he woke up at 2:30 in the morning and for some reason refused to go back to sleep. Of course we had to skip school that day because there's no way I was going to let him crash out at school.

Thank you:)
The way he said “ sleep tonight” when you guys got home made me smile! Typical teen!
Yes haha he knows how to finesse. He knows he can do more fun things when mommy isn't tired.
Your videos are always so insightful. Regardless of the schedule in which you upload them. 😊 Also that chicken recipe is a bonus I was not expecting.

I hope so too! I think it's just a teenage phase. Right now he's more of a homebody and enjoys hammering in his garage lol

Does Kaidale still like to play chase?
Thought you had a new Jeep? Or was it more ms?
Wow that’s a lot of nails kaidale.good job
Haha yes, he is very passionate about his hammering.
Can't be mad at him when he suffers from insomnia. He can't help it. Why not try Melatonin? Try breathing and meditation.
He does take melatonin and Benadryl but sometimes it doesn't cut it.
