Play everything, from acc maps to maps that you can't beat, playing acc maps will help you improve your accuracy and playing hard maps will help you improve your ability to read patterns and play harder songs
using no fail when you're between hard/expert where hard is too easy but expert is too hard. It shows you your weak areas and then you just practice them slowly and play the entire song
No fail and Practice mode are your best friends. Beat saber is all about patterns, sometimes you need to slow things down to understand a difficult pattern. When in practice mode I usually start at 60% or so, then build all the way up to 120%, if you can play it at 120% then you can go back down to 100% just fine.
the "dont think" one is so true. Trying to think and focus on blocks just makes me fail immediately (on hard levels). Sometimes I shock myself when I'm zoned out because I do stuff that I didn't think was possible for me
Yeah fr Sometimes when im playing a map thats not too hard for me (say 6-7 star) I just zone out and think about a video thumbnail or whatever, and I hit all the blocks
@@shardgaming6784 Yeah, that's how I litterally passed a 11 star yesterday! I was litterally focusing on what I would eat for dinner and bam, I did it. It's crazy how your brain can perform task while you're not even mentally there!
The same thing happened to me I was playing final boss chan and I zoned out in the beginning of the song and when I zoned back in I finished with an A rank and it was on expert. I don't know how
Flow state is def a big sign of when you get comfortable with the game after a lot of hours. Countless times where a difficult sequence passed by, I said to myself "oh I def must have missed a note or two", looking at the combo and still not being broken :D
When I get to that flow state, I can't help but smile. It's like being on a drug or something. Just like you I always think I missed some blocks but then find out that I did really really well.
When I bought my Quest and started a fitness focused journey into Beat Saber 9 months ago I recall watching one of your videos about getting in the zone and using practice mode. I thought it was so insane that you could sight read expert+ maps and couldn’t have ever imagined getting to that point. Here I am now 9 months later and I can sight read Expert+ and compete online at that level. I’m blown away by how much better I play when I’m mentally fatigued because my muscle memory takes over and I can just relax and enjoy the unwind. Thanks for all of your amazing tips and vids. I was a fan the moment I first saw one of your vids.
I've been playing for a couple years now. I'm a sold Expert, but moving to Expert Plus. If I had to guess, I have between 500, and 700 hours. I've recently moved to online play at Expert. I do well. My main reason I play is fitness, not competition. I have no ego online. I like all of us to do well.
Great advice. And using your wrists is absolutely necessary to get into the expert+ difficulty. However, I think using full arm swings is far better exercise, and the added challenge of big swings can keep lower difficulty levels relevant. I personally play beat saber for fitness, and waving my wrists around is much less fun, and does nothing to my heart rate.
Right?! Exactly! I know full well that I could be getting better scores and probably also doing harder songs if I kept everything isolated to the wrists as much as possible, but it's just SO much less fun that way, and it doesn't get my heart pumping or my blood flowing. When I play Beat Saber, I wanna MOVE; I wanna dance; I wanna bounce and jump; I wanna go through four or five bottles of water because I'm sweating so much that I need to dry my hair afterwards.
This. I see Beat saber as my gym. I don't want to go to a gym to be able to play Beat saber. 😀 And I like to integrate the warm up stretching right into game play by starting with slower songs or lower difficulties to do the big swings that involve the arm right up into the shouler blades. As an IT guy, I work a lot seated and hacking on a keyboard so this is the perfect compensation. I have commsisioned 4 maps and on the last ones I didn't even bother having expert+ levels made (saves on the € as well)
Personally, as someone who does play both for exercise and for improvement, I burn a lot of calories just moving my wrists. Keeping your arms in one place while your wrists go wild takes a lot of energy, as there’s no other way to stop your arms from moving than just exert a force in the opposite direction. When you get fast enough, you burn more calories than when you did when you were playing slow maps with wide arm movements. I remember one example quite a few months ago when I was playing Cycle Hits on Expert+ with no fail on and I was burning 8-10 calories in a 40 second window replaying the same part of the song over and over again. Now, even with downtime in between hard parts of songs, I’m averaging just under 10 calories a minute (which I know may seem like a decrease but remember when I’m replaying one hard part of one song over and over again you get really tired and have to stop after a few minutes) and I’m having a lot of fun because I can see myself improving. Now keep in mind, in order to facilitate those kinds of speeds you do need to install custom maps (and you preferably have a younger body, mid 30s at the very most and ideally in your 20s), which isn’t an option for everybody. Even if you can though, you still don’t have to do what I do, I’m just sharing my experience. You can play however you want to, as long as your having fun while doing it.
@@litessbu sure. On bsaver, look for "VNV Nation - Immersed", "Otyken - Legend", "No Turning Back" from the Plague Tale Requiem soundtrack and "Ahi Ka" from Alien Weaponry. Coming soon will be "Blood and Glitter" from Lord of the Lost.
Keep an eye out for meta quest 2 deals. It's what I used and managed to get on Amazon as a cyber monday/black friday deal. It came with beat saber and RE4
Another really good one is learn to sight read really well. Don't think about the blocks that are right in front of you, look at the page as a whole, the blocks that are down the line and your arms will get ready to play those notes as they come!! If I start to mess up I know it's bc I'm not aight reading enough!! Focusing on what I'm about to hit too much :) hope that helps!
2 year in beat saber now on modded quest. These are all excellent tips. The one that stands out is the stretching. I've twice had to break from beat saber because of injury with it. My wrist and my elbow which took such a long time to heal, I'm still working on it, but back playing. Listen to your body. Don't play through pain, you'll regret it. 2nd once I switched to claw it was a game changer. Feels odd at first, but stick with it. Thamks Naysy.
agreed. i did a community mod song on expert first thing in the morning with no stretches'. Yeah pulled out my shoulder so bad i could lift my arms properly for a week. Took months to really get the injury out. But every time i think, oh i dont need to stretch, it hurts me, and i do less songs.
As a dancer/martial artist and former fencer (foil, not sabre), I play with the wrist band on and loosely holding the controller with a claw grip because it’s actually somewhat similar to the 2-finger + thumb hold on the very standard French grip that most people start on. The way the hand is “open” prevents you from death gripping the controller and cramping up your hand since the handle acts a little like the pommel of a weapon pressing against the inside of your wrist. The plastic ring “propping” up your fingers means you can keep your hand nice and relaxed, just like in fencing. This is definitely more difficult if you have smaller hands but having fairly average hands for a woman, this grip style worked really well for me. I’m on Oculus 2 and setting the height taller makes sense - if you are not used always being in a slight squat position (martial artists, skaters, etc. would be used to this), setting it higher is absolutely easier on your knees initially. The drawback is that if you have a weak core, you might give yourself a sore lower back I really never played this game with the intention of a high score (ie. I just wanted to get some cardio in) and I breezed through pretty much every song I set on easy and then with one or two play throughs I was getting A/S on the songs set on normal. Before I hit hour 1, I was getting S on songs set on hard after failing them once or twice and I attribute all of this to all of my other hobbies. You learn very quickly that, like you said, you can’t always keep your elbows up depending on the map. My inclination is to hold weapons defensively in front of me (eg. Anyone who’s ever done double-broadsword forms in wushu/kung fu) but that’s not going to work when some of the choreography is set closer to waist level. At that point, it begins to feel more like actual fencing and fencers always move with their knees bent Getting flustered the first few times you encounter something that’s a bit too fast for you is normal and I honestly only got through it and quickly because of muscle memory from my other hobbies. I think what’s more important than developing muscle memory, the game lives up to its name and you just follow the beat. I know it’s easy for me to say as a dancer but I once had to learn that too; my teachers reminded us to exhale. It gives you a beat to make up for the one you missed and then hum the beat and hop back on it. We hold our breath when we are concentrating very hard so if you’re focusing too much on the arrows - exhale. Even if you have the muscle memory, it won’t matter if it kicked in on the wrong beat
I'm having fun by playing fast maps and improving,it is so satisfying to watch how you are becoming better imo Also few thing i want to mention: 1. NEVER use only wrists or you will injure them if you will be able to play hard maps(hard states for 9+ stars ranked maps) always use arm+wrist so you don't need to fullswing with only wrist 2.Do not change your grip unless you feel uncomfortable with it,if you are feeling comfortable with default grip - stay on default grip 3. To make your settings use easy offset if you are on pc it will save you a lot of time in making good settings,if you are playing on native quest well there is not much to do about it will take A LOT of time to get good settings 4. Always stretch before playing hard maps playing without stretching increases chance of injuring something 5.Use JDfixer it lets you play with jd that is best for you
Forget about processing power, reduce debris is a setting I suggest for even the most powerful of systems. When you start getting really good and play faster and denser songs those block pieces can fill your screen so bad you can’t even tell where the blocks are or how you’re supposed to hit them. Honestly, I noticed an improvement in my gameplay instantly on harder songs when I turned that on.
I'm a 49 yo lady. You are my hero! I started to play beat Saber 4 months ago. I'm not fit though my dancing and musical childhood education helps. I totally support the science of the brain in to it. I wish I was 25 and getting even close as you are.I always follow your tips...I'm improving ❤❤
My biggest tip that's helped me is if you hit a note downwards, keep your arm down as the next note will likely be upwards, and vice versa- part of your last point really! Great for fast-moving songs where you can't quite see the next note as they're flying at you so quickly, helps a lot with new maps
I absolutely love beat saber. I'm 45 long time gamer. I'm also a fitness buff. This is a wonderful game and I play it almost every day. I'm up to expert+ on a lot of them but the wrist tips are great! I definitely get a workout. I use beat saber to warm up and get my brain going before my harder workouts
Changing to a 2 finger claw helped so damn much. The like of Yodelling and 'Futon' have sections that are better served flicking your wrists up and down than moving your arms. Just wanted to say a huge thanks for that. This vid helped loads, but that in particular was the most significant for me :)
Stretching used to be a recommended thing to do before exercise, but experts found that doing stretches before hand will actually lower your exercise ability by 10%. It's why the good body builders and such use a lighter weight as a warm up and stretch rather than wasting most of your energy doing something that will do nothing but tyre you out before you even lifted a pound. The simple thing to do is play a game or do some easy songs first, one easy song will do more for getting your body ready than ten minutes of stretching. You will never see a weight lifter or body builder do their heaviest weight first go, we build up by doing a 20 lift with a weight we can do easily for each exercise or depending what muscles you are working you may not need to do a warm up for each muscle as many are in a group and warm up from doing only one warm up set. I also noticed if I try to concentrate on hitting the blocks in the faster songs, I will miss way more often, I try to zone out and let my subconscious work for me. It's only once I am near the end of my set that my arms get so heavy that I have to choose a couple songs that are hard at easy or normal to finish off as once the arms start to die, it doesn't matter how easy the song is, you can't move the arms enough :) I have lost over 8KG since getting my Quest 3, who would have thought that you could lose weight playing games :) I just need to keep a bottle of water close buy and remember to drink regularly.
This video is excellent!! I’ve searched around for thorough info on these types of things and this hits all of them. Thank you for making it! Your vids are awesome!
It really helps if you have your settings so that the sabers are angled almost like an extension of your arm, and go straight out when you extend your arms. (If you use claw grip just adjust the settings to compensate.) With these settings you should use your wrists as well. Using claw grip and wrists plus angled sabers helped me go from barely doing hard, to effortlessly doing expert.
My extra tip would be to go one level higher every now and then. As of now, I usually play on Hard, but every now and then, I play on Expert or even Expert + on the same song with No Fail on, and then I go back to Hard and it starts becoming more manageable. Another tip I wanna add is yeah, as I've mentioned earlier, just turn on No Fail if you really just want to enjoy the game.
il have an actuall thing that will help: play maps that are out of your skill range, also play map types that you normally dont play for example if your a linear speed player play something like tech or idk but the best tip i have dont switch grips every few months dont switch headsets every few months play maps and dont quit out if you miss
Thank you so much for these tips, been watching your channel now for three years. For the start of beat saber, finally last year got the meta quest headset and now looking to mode it. Daughters enjoy it so much; they so competitive wonder where they get that from BUT it’s the enjoyment of playing and dancing around. It’s your style as we say… lol The don’t think and zone mode is so true, once there and you are in it you finish the map and wanna start all over again as quick as poss, to stay in zone. Thankyou for you videos over the years and the inspiration it has give us and everyone else around the world. All the very best Marc, Georgia & Alicia
I use wrist movement where necessary, but prefer large arm swings. Why? Feels more fun to me. If you manage to mix it well you can still beat expert(+) levels, even if it's technically less optimal. For grip, I really just hold it in default position, but I hold down the grips and triggers for more stability. Not sure if that's normal but it works for me lol
I found that weighted wrist bands were like magic for me. I made a way to strap them around my hand/controller so not only do they hold the controller nicely on my hand but they also add one pound of extra weight. The weights are usually designed to go around the wrist to help build arm strength and endurance over time. But having the weight focused on my wrist helps a TON with wrist control which is key for those ridiculous fast notes. Once the weights are off the controller feels like nothing and my wrist feel significantly faster to react and I can play for much longer.
I've got around 800 hrs in BS, and I still found this video to be very helpful! I knew that slice accuracy could improve your score, but I was unaware of the "full swing" thing. Now I've just got to figure out the best way to hold these Quest 3 controllers lol.
i realized the "don't think" one about an hour into playing for the first time. i figured out that my intuition was actually pretty good and that leaning into it and relaxing helped WAY more than being hyper focused. i only just started playing yesterday but im so excited to actually get good at it as i keep going. super grateful to have found these videos to help me.
Thanks Naysy! The most important rule or tip is the first one. This is a GAME, not a slicing tournament. ENJOY! Move! Dance! This is why BeatSaber is much, much more than a simple reflex game. I also love this about your twicthes: you PLAY and try all kinds of things (even my older, somewhat misguided maps, too). When I build a map, your attitude is the model: let the players enjoy what they get. And I am very happy when this is achieved (Matrix reloaded, Temptation, etc)! And now comes my tip for BeatSaber · Don't turn off the walls! Don't turn off the lights! (It's okay for practice, of course, turn them off, but if you're already good at it, don't). We put a lot of work into the lights when building the maps, and the walls are especially important parts of the choreography! Use the maps' colors and environments! · Join a BeatSaber community (there are a few on Facebook). It puts you in a good mood, you can inspire each other. IMPORTANT. · It's good if you have a body analysis scale. You can track the long-term effects. · Watch players on Twitch (necessarily Naysy!) · And practice, practice, practice! My other tip is more for the builders: Pay attention to compatibility! Your maps can work even on the oldest configuration! Choreography, music and dance are the first, the visuals are the second. Don't sacrifice these for fancy mods. Oh, and one more thing: the maps should be made BY HAND, avoid automatic building algorithms. You understand much better what happens if you break the road yourself and try to build a correct map! Of course, sometimes you can go against the rules, as I did with this map (I deliberately tried to break all the rules) proving that you can still make an enjoyable map (you can play it with full combo): th-cam.com/video/1fs3RVY-htI/w-d-xo.html
I use the Quest 2s built in strap kind of like the Index strap. It lets me hold the controller a bit further down and more relaxed. Great for speed, and stamina.
Long time watcher, 1st time commenter. Love the tips. Fun for me, is getting and intense workout. So, I *do* use my wrists for maximum arc for better score, but I use FULL ARM and SHOULDER movements. Best workout ever! As such though, I have to limit most of my songs to between HARD and EXPERT depending on song because not using JUST the wrist, is almost impossible for Expert+ songs. Keep it up! Getting my new Q3 this week!
I played for an hour and 30 minutes today and the amount of progress I made in just that time is incredible. Thank you for the tips and tricks. Especially the 2 fingered one because I was able to use my wrist more. My advice is to slow down a song if it’s hard so you get used to knowing what to do and then speed it up
The don’t think part is such a good tip. When I start stressing while playing I’ll start thinking about what I’m eating for dinner or what I need to do tomorrow.
id put the game down for a quite a while till i saw your video on modding the oculus(meta) headset absolute game changer, its made the game much better. Also you've mentioned it before but use practice and no fail and slow songs down i did this on your advice and smashing expert now expert+ still eludes me though. love the Zelda music at end ocarina of time such a good game :D
This helped me a lot. Managed to go up a difficulty level, especially using the claw grip and more wrists. Not losing my controller or accidentally pushing a button opening the menu, really helps lol.
yeah the "zone out/dont think abt it" is legit. I completely zone out and get into a zen state where im thinking over my last week, about what im going to eat later, about stuff ive done today and think about my partners.
I love the game and your channel. My problem is that I have a total shoulder replacement on my left arm and my arm only works from the elbow down. Which really makes it hard to do well with the left side but I still have fun and it counts towards my exercise data on my watch.
I got some advice that I found out myself that made me better. Focus on note blocks that are further away so you can have more time to react. I also break sections up for Wrists and arms. Use wrists for Less spaced blocks and use your arms for more spaced blocks. So clusters don’t require a full swing to make you tired because I like to think that big spaces are there to keep your stamina bar up so you can go through cutting machine gun type notes
5:05 fun fact: my brain already does that automatically within 30 seconds once it starts. The reason why It does this is from Muscle memory and I have a lot of it because of doing Fighting sports like Folkstyle Wrestling, Kickboxing and things that help my reaction speed stay consistent with swings. Sadly each song has a different speed so sometimes i have to adjust to it running fast like on spinning eternally - Camellia compared to escape and slower songs. So i ether swing to late or to early so i usually stay on songs I’m already adjusted to.
Meta QUest2 uses primarily gyroscopes and accelerometers to track the controllers, and secondary IR signal do avoid drift. It's not tracked by the cameras. Simple test, put controler behind your back and it still works. Also put something in front of you between headset and controllers (a pillow), then move controllers. They move fine even when not seen by the camera.
I jumped into an expert song today because it was the only mapping for that specific song, and at one point my brain just turned off and I got a decent combo going so not thinking is huge, subconscious brain power is the fastest
Great tips! I'm 50+, bought my Quest 2 during Covid 2yrs ago to not go nutso and get some exercise. I'm finally up to playing at Expert level and I sweat like a BEAST playing. I have to play under my ceiling fan on high I sweat so much playing. Tried a diff face shield with vents but didn't seem to be very big difference. Any advice on other face inserts etc. to increase air flow? I also wear glasses so have to have the glasses insert. Nothing more annoying then seeing a sweat drop drip down my effin glasses! Grrrr... Love your content btw!
For beginners: play the campaign! It's a fun way to learn the mechanics. When I am stuck getting ranks/full combos, I'll play around with modifiers, one saber, 360. Be goofy, and not pressure myself to achieve anything for that day - but to have fun. When I am good at a song but still can't get full combo - I will speed it up! Next time you play normal speed, it will feel like slo mo. Song too hard? Leave it and come back later to wonder how you ever struggled. Oh, yeah, subscribe to Naysy!
"Actual Pros best tips"? Nah, You good enough to me! Thank You to share these tips, everything what I need is in this video! Practice is the key, Mamba mentality! Thanks again, have a great one y'all!
I just got mods but it always says it’s unofficial app and it would put me at risk then after I downloaded them it still asked me to restore the normal oculus one.a couple days later I started lagging idk if that’s a coincidence or my internet
Play with a no death modifier. It's hard to improve when you can't see a song thru to the end, it'll help you know what to do when retrying and to learn the common muscle memory algorithms of BS. After some time, you'll become faster, stop dying, master more complex movements, etc.
It helps to focus on the horizon rather than look at the blocks in the striking zone. Agreed on the flow state! The less I think the better I do. My muscle memory plus subconscious mind are combined way more efficient at driving my game with quick reaction then trying to think about the blocks coming at me.
I came from Guitar Hero, so I'm applying some of the stuff I learnt there to Beat Saber. But I am still starting out on Medium and going through all the tracks currently. Been having an absolute blast though and I can't wait to get better and higher difficulties.
"Dont think" will build itself up, like any action you need to think for your first cpuple hundred to maybe even a thousand songs, like martial arts, you consciously act and practice at first so your body can do it without you thinking later
Great video! Ahhhhhh flow state, recently got used to expert plus finally and I swear certain songs have sections that totally wreck flow state!. Also me being older I definitely need to stress cause the energy it takes is ridiculous, super fun though!
I'm an artist, so I've always been told "draw from the arm" especially since I've overexerted my wrists on more than a few occasions 😅 so hearing "use your wrists" had me taken aback lol
Best grip for me so far. Is the normal grip but with your thumb right over the edge of the button platform. Controller becomes less slippery on fast songs
I'm in no way a beginner but I love your content! Really awesome tip video! When you mentioned reciting the alphabet I chuckled a little cause I so that as well from time to time XD
For the grips, personally, as a guy with larger hands, I found the Quest controllers almost completely unusable for Beat Saber without aftermarket grips. The covers that extend the grip, have 'stickier' texture, and have the band that wraps around the back of your hand like Index Knuckles were a must-have for me on Quest controllers, especially for Beat Saber. Part of the reason I found the Quest controllers almost completely unusable in their stock state, though, was that I do play with moving my whole arm, not just my wrists. Yes, this does burn a lot more energy... but, for me at least, that's a significant part of the point. As someone with a desk job, it's a good way for me to get in some cardio while also having fun. I sometimes even play while wearing wrist weights just to increase the workout intensity.
I've been using the 3 finger claw grip for many years. for some reason 2 finger claw grip doesn't sit right and the regular grip just slips off after 10 movements BUT I found that if you use claw grip, you end up abruptly stopping on your down strokes causing less 'departure angle' if that makes sense and looks abit like it has a tether.
I really wish you dropped this video a long time ago, I used to play so much. Up to 8 hours a day and now I can't play for longer than one hour because my wrists hurt so bad all the time
So I suppose the score system is built to prevent people from playing the game like they're a T-rex, which is kinda how I would describe it, T-Rex hands
Just came across your channel! I love it sm! This tutorial helped me a lot! I watched this tutorial then went straight onto beat saber I got my first 1m points! :D I know that’s not very impressive but I’m very proud of myself! Thanks again for the amazing tutorial! ❤️
So im not good at the game but not bad too but one thing that I noticed is that when Im struggling at some Songs and it takes me really long I just stop playing and then like 2 days later the song is way easier Like I got better by just taking an break So taking an break helps me A LOT
I started playing about a week ago. And one issue I'm having is that I often hit 100+ with my right arm but 60ish with my left arm. So working on getting my left arms muscle memory is definitely something I'm struggling with. 😅 The small node option is something I feel helped me there though, but still a struggle.
Thank you soo much, your video was extremely helpful to me! Your voice is clear, I understood almost every word you said (English is not my native language TwT), I can't wait to apply tips :)
Practice is the best tip! When I first started I started on normal and now Expert or Experts+! In about a year or so. But the more you play the better you'll become!

using no fail when you're between hard/expert where hard is too easy but expert is too hard.

I did? What
I played beatsaber for about 3 weeks before I got it's mods. I figured out flow state like a day after that.
When I get to that flow state, I can't help but smile. It's like being on a drug or something. Just like you I always think I missed some blocks but then find out that I did really really well.

@@faithgotmotion Sure. Exercise is exercise. Keep going!
I might be slower than other people, but I'm in my 50s.
@@Andy_from_de Also, can I know, only if you want to of course, what maps you commissioned?
@@litessbu sure. On bsaver, look for "VNV Nation - Immersed", "Otyken - Legend", "No Turning Back" from the Plague Tale Requiem soundtrack and "Ahi Ka" from Alien Weaponry. Coming soon will be "Blood and Glitter" from Lord of the Lost.
I’ve only played beat saber once in my life and am still in love with it till this day. Will definitely rewatch this video when I’m able to get VR!!
The drawback is that if you have a weak core, you might give yourself a sore lower back
I really never played this game with the intention of a high score (ie. At that point, it begins to feel more like actual fencing and fencers always move with their knees bent
Getting flustered the first few times you encounter something that’s a bit too fast for you is normal and I honestly only got through it and quickly because of muscle memory from my other hobbies.
I'm having fun by playing fast maps and improving,it is so satisfying to watch how you are becoming better imo
Also few thing i want to mention:
1. NEVER use only wrists or you will injure them if you will be able to play hard maps(hard states for 9+ stars ranked maps) always use arm+wrist so you don't need to fullswing with only wrist
2.Do not change your grip unless you feel uncomfortable with it,if you are feeling comfortable with default grip - stay on default grip
3. To make your settings use easy offset if you are on pc it will save you a lot of time in making good settings,if you are playing on native quest well there is not much to do about it will take A LOT of time to get good settings
4. Always stretch before playing hard maps playing without stretching increases chance of injuring something
5.Use JDfixer it lets you play with jd that is best for you
hi MeatyMan_BS
@@Skystreaker hi
Forget about processing power, reduce debris is a setting I suggest for even the most powerful of systems. When you start getting really good and play faster and denser songs those block pieces can fill your screen so bad you can’t even tell where the blocks are or how you’re supposed to hit them. Honestly, I noticed an improvement in my gameplay instantly on harder songs when I turned that on.
Apart from the great info - serious kudos on how super slick your video quality and editing is! You're a pro at more than Beat Saber!
Awesome to hear
It's only once I am near the end of my set that my arms get so heavy that I have to choose a couple songs that are hard at easy or normal to finish off as once the arms start to die, it doesn't matter how easy the song is, you can't move the arms enough :)
I have lost over 8KG since getting my Quest 3, who would have thought that you could lose weight playing games :) I just need to keep a bottle of water close buy and remember to drink regularly.
This video is excellent!! I’ve searched around for thorough info on these types of things and this hits all of them. Thank you for making it! Your vids are awesome!
As a newbie on this i am so happy that i Found your channel. I Realy liked The "claw grip tip" Your channel is so Good that i became a member. ❤️
Thanks so much!
It really helps if you have your settings so that the sabers are angled almost like an extension of your arm, and go straight out when you extend your arms.
(If you use claw grip just adjust the settings to compensate.)
With these settings you should use your wrists as well.
Using claw grip and wrists plus angled sabers helped me go from barely doing hard, to effortlessly doing expert.
I personally decided to not use wrists too much. Can't play some of the insane maps because of it, but I'm playing Beat Saber for fitness.
Thank you naysy you helped me beat my dad in beat saber
My extra tip would be to go one level higher every now and then. As of now, I usually play on Hard, but every now and then, I play on Expert or even Expert + on the same song with No Fail on, and then I go back to Hard and it starts becoming more manageable.
Another tip I wanna add is yeah, as I've mentioned earlier, just turn on No Fail if you really just want to enjoy the game.
yes turning on no fail is to have fun instead of seeing level failed
These are useful tips Naysy, if I get a chance of playing Beat Saber I'll take these tips and have fun.
Claw grip+using wrists took me from barely doing hard, to doing expert consistently in like 5 hrs play time. insane how much those two helped
il have an actuall thing that will help: play maps that are out of your skill range, also play map types that you normally dont play for example if your a linear speed player play something like tech or idk but the best tip i have dont switch grips every few months dont switch headsets every few months play maps and dont quit out if you miss
Thank you so much for these tips, been watching your channel now for three years. For the start of beat saber, finally last year got the meta quest headset and now looking to mode it. Daughters enjoy it so much; they so competitive wonder where they get that from BUT it’s the enjoyment of playing and dancing around. It’s your style as we say… lol
The don’t think and zone mode is so true, once there and you are in it you finish the map and wanna start all over again as quick as poss, to stay in zone.
0:34 PP Saber is now my new favorite way to play beat saber...
Make sure you never give up because the grind to get better can feel a bit upsetting at times from experience
Watch out for the wrist only method, carpal tunnel syndrome is a thing :D. Its best using arms and wrist combined
I find to sing along with the song kind of helps me focus
Loved that random dog break 🐕 😄
Very good video, nice tips, great production value.
And now comes my tip for BeatSaber
· Don't turn off the walls!
· Watch players on Twitch (necessarily Naysy!)
· And practice, practice, practice!
Of course, sometimes you can go against the rules, as I did with this map (I deliberately tried to break all the rules) proving that you can still make an enjoyable map (you can play it with full combo):
th-cam.com/video/1fs3RVY-htI/w-d-xo.html
I don’t know how, but I got my headset a couple weeks ago, and I can already do expert plus on some songs, and usually expert on most songs!
Thanks for the tips! Btw you are a pro
NEW SUBSCRIBER
id put the game down for a quite a while till i saw your video on modding the oculus(meta) headset absolute game changer, its made the game much better. Also you've mentioned it before but use practice and no fail and slow songs down i did this on your advice and smashing expert now expert+ still eludes me though. love the Zelda music at end ocarina of time such a good game :D
Great content and delivery! Amazing communication skills. You are so articulate!
"use the finger grips, it helps with most people". me holding the stick part: "Yes"
I think of the tip "not thinking" the same as Goku's Ultra instict.
I really appreciate these tips and tricks. I can see myself trying some of them next time I play Beat Saber.
This helped me a lot. Managed to go up a difficulty level, especially using the claw grip and more wrists. Not losing my controller or accidentally pushing a button opening the menu, really helps lol.
only thing I learned in 1000 hours is I have still have zero endurance and situational awareness
For me i started playing about a year ago and last week i just got to top 5000 on scoresaber. Gotta say i surprised myself
yeah the "zone out/dont think abt it" is legit. I completely zone out and get into a zen state where im thinking over my last week, about what im going to eat later, about stuff ive done today and think about my partners.
I love the game and your channel. My problem is that I have a total shoulder replacement on my left arm and my arm only works from the elbow down. Which really makes it hard to do well with the left side but I still have fun and it counts towards my exercise data on my watch.
nothing feels better then getting a perfect combo in a hard part of a song
I watched the strecth part and hopped on to my oculus, beat spin eternally on expert
Really useful I enjoy your game play videos and I’m kinda new to beat saber and this video will definitely help me improve
I came from Guitar Hero, so I'm applying some of the stuff I learnt there to Beat Saber. But I am still starting out on Medium and going through all the tracks currently. Been having an absolute blast though and I can't wait to get better and higher difficulties.
ive started playing a few minutes ago and ive completed (barely) camellia ghost on expert and im sure these tips will help me get better
Hi Naysy! Love your videos they helped me get through the stress of my final exams!
Hope your exams go well!
@@Naysy thanks!
4:59 i can REALLY relate to that its so much eaiser not full focusing on the blocks but still like in it if you understand.
"Dont think" will build itself up, like any action you need to think for your first cpuple hundred to maybe even a thousand songs, like martial arts, you consciously act and practice at first so your body can do it without you thinking later
ive wondered for a while what are your specs i know this is off topic.
OMG thank you for this video! Now I know what the ‘note jump’ setting actually does, moving up to expert+ doesnt seem that impossible! Thank you! 💜
Agreed, thank god for these tips, helping me so much 🙏 🙌
I'm in no way a beginner but I love your content! Really awesome tip video! When you mentioned reciting the alphabet I chuckled a little cause I so that as well from time to time XD
Thank You! A few of your tips helped! Literally! You the best!
I've been using the 3 finger claw grip for many years. for some reason 2 finger claw grip doesn't sit right and the regular grip just slips off after 10 movements
BUT
I found that if you use claw grip, you end up abruptly stopping on your down strokes causing less 'departure angle' if that makes sense and looks abit like it has a tether.
the controller grip felt a lot better THANK YOU NAYSY
Got into the game yesterday got my self my first vr headset last week now its time to grind this game on pcvr
I really wish you dropped this video a long time ago, I used to play so much. Up to 8 hours a day and now I can't play for longer than one hour because my wrists hurt so bad all the time
I am quite new to beat saber and your Chanel really helps me with navigating the game
props to the upgrading in editing recently, nice job. it makes things have way more better flow.
The grips I use are default and palm which is claw except with 4 fingers instead of 2 because it helps more then regular claw in my opinion
on the "use wrist" tip, i cant use wrist if its slow for some reason, if i do a song and it becomes quick i use wrists, if it becomes slow i use arms
So I suppose the score system is built to prevent people from playing the game like they're a T-rex, which is kinda how I would describe it, T-Rex hands
I play like a T-Rex 😂
Just came across your channel! I love it sm! This tutorial helped me a lot! I watched this tutorial then went straight onto beat saber I got my first 1m points! :D I know that’s not very impressive but I’m very proud of myself! Thanks again for the amazing tutorial! ❤️
So im not good at the game but not bad too but one thing that I noticed is that when Im struggling at some Songs and it takes me really long I just stop playing and then like 2 days later the song is way easier
Like I got better by just taking an break
So taking an break helps me A LOT
I love love love this, it’s so helpful, thank you so much
I started playing about a week ago. And one issue I'm having is that I often hit 100+ with my right arm but 60ish with my left arm. So working on getting my left arms muscle memory is definitely something I'm struggling with. 😅 The small node option is something I feel helped me there though, but still a struggle.
Wow!! The dont think tip was unbelievably helpful i went from failing the hard levels i was trying and how i can do experts levels
Thank you soo much, your video was extremely helpful to me! Your voice is clear, I understood almost every word you said (English is not my native language TwT), I can't wait to apply tips :)
Ive been playing beat Saber for like 3 - 2 years, i never done any stretches... Um im gonna start doing that!
when the first clip of you demoing ur streches ur face creeped me out for a split second
Hey Naysy :D Great video and nice tips! Keep up the top quality content
P.s.-Thank you very much for the shoutout ❤
No problem 😊
that splatoon music at 7:52 hits hard ngl as well as megalovolia😂. In all seriousness thanks so much for this video I learned a lot!
The "grip" one was very helpful because when I play beat saber my hands go down to the bottom of the controller
Practice is the best tip! When I first started I started on normal and now Expert or Experts+! In about a year or so. But the more you play the better you'll become!
