First off, this movie is one of my absolute favorites. I am STILL surprised Disney got away with presenting this movie with SO MANY details ( scientific, operational and personal) to the public. This movie DISAPPEARED for a long time and NOW it's back. I personally believe this movie is part of the whole "planetary preparational process" for the grand reveal of the ACTUAL Existence of Aliens to our world. That said, this is a good movie.

The best was giving him his shower in the garage with the power washer strapped in his wheel chair. Weeeee! I used to tease the old man all the time about that stuff. Kept him laughing. My idea for a sequel: "Final Flight Of The Navigator."
Girl wakes up in a hospital. Her visiting parents seem strange to her. As things happen, it turns out she is in a parallel world that is almost like the one she came from.
The UFO is an intelligence that has a secondary drone that looks like a human boy. This robot/drone finds the girl, explains and brings her back to the ship.
In a series of dramatic events, they cross the parallel boundary back to the original planet/place from where the girl was taken.
Upon landing, the girl meets a version of herself and switches places so she too can go home.
    The end.

I used to love watching this as a kid. The boy not aging is an effect of travelling very fast. So him remaining younger while those at home aged is really a thing that could happen. It’s not time travel but relativistic physics. Time can pass differently depending how deep you are in a gravity well or how fast your moving etc. But it’s still moving forward just slower or faster relative to others. Read about it. However there has been absolutely no science or math to show time can stop or flow in reverse. So that part of the film is Hollywood story telling magic. But I still loved the movie as a kid. Love the ship, how it can change shape etc. Very cool.

    • @StarGateSG7
      @StarGateSG7 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Technically, it's time dilation caused by EITHER flying near the speed of light OR flying near a super-massive object that has enormous amounts of gravity. Both will slow down the passage of time to the local observer while the rest of us will see time moving forward as normal. For now, this movement of time only flows forward. I should note that BOTH Quantum Mechanics AND Einstein's Theory of Relativity do allow for space AND TIME to be curved and allow for the connection of entrances and exits between two very large distance apart 3D-XYZ volumetric spaces via a construct we call "Wormholes"!
Since space itself may be truly curved, it also posits that TIME follows the same curved construct meaning that two separate points in TIME may be connected together by a wormhole and may be traversible. To us humans, time is considered to be the movement of personal actions and 3D objects within our local 3D space BUT in a curved system, it is posited that time AND space may loop around and around repeating over and over meaning individual POINTS within those LOOPS may be connectable and traversible.
It is NOT necessarily true that the past cannot be changed since that eternal space-time loop may be non-linear or stochastic. This means that on a general basis, the overall flow of events and actions may change only slightly or grossly over time depending upon the introduction of one or more random values appearing. This posits that each time loop iteration may allow for past events to be changed by a person or object that jumps into a specific 3D physical and temporal location from another point in 3D space and time.
Using an analogy, a stream of water may look the same most of the time to the average person year after year, but if you throw a rock into that stream, it does in fact CHANGE the actual flow of the water however slightly! Small rocks change the flow only slightly while bigger rocks change the flow greatly!
If spatial and temporal wormholes ARE able to exist, one or more humans may affect the FLOW of time and the events that occurred during the current loop by small amounts or great amounts.
It is also posited by a few past and modern scientists that intense mass (i.e. gravity) and/or intense concentrations of electromagnetic waveforms may allow for us humans to be able to "dig" a few small canals on the riverbanks within this constantly flowing river of curved time and space so that we can connect to a new UPRIVER or DOWNRIVER location. We might then be able to throw some small or big rocks into that new river location which will cause a slight or great change in river flow at our new location. (i.e. local events or actions may change at the new space-time location!).
I also suspect that there are canals (i.e. wormholes) that were dug-out during previous loops which may still be there for us humans to use and we can now traverse them if we can find them. These WORMHOLES may have specific gravitational or electromagnetic signatures which are likely detectable by modern instruments. It is very likely that these smaller "canals", being smaller in size than the larger river of time, may contain a higher pressure and thus have a faster flow rate which lets us go much faster than the larger river of time BUT we personally still experience time normally since we sit quite still in our seat on the boat (i.e. our spaceship or timeship) while the boat itself moves linearly faster within the fast flowing canal. This effectively makes us go faster than the speed of light speed-wise AND/OR go at a faster rate of time movement when traveling to the new location upriver or downriver from our current canal entrance point.
It's an unusual analogy to use, but I think it effectively explains that time is a river and that you can dig canals into its banks and move to different locations in space AND in time because BOTH time and space are likely curved like a loop and flow round-and-round forever!
      V

In the bible it talks about time standing still. It also talked about a boy waking up 60 years later. It also talks about building a launch pad for a space craft that came down in.
The vimana Hindu text talk about space craft and blue skinned people coming back in 87 years.
But so far nothing about going back in time unless you watch star Trek.

Apa judul film ini ? ..

I've always overlooked that movie but planned on seeing it one day. Now I'll look for it ..I believe I have it bookmarked simewhere, edit.. so, according to my bookmarks I've already seen this 2 times! Great about getting old, you can watch something over and over like it's the first time every time :-)

Thanks for the great summarization. In view of the year 2023 I would use the power of the technology of the ship to dismantle some fluid factories and labs where the next cimednap will start.

If I had Max. I would travel across time and see how things were in the past As well as attempt to travel into the future.

Indeed. . .a nice movie. Small spoiler though; the planet was FOUR light years away, so the round trip to Earth caused our passenger to age just EIGHT. . . and not 560. So his family were all older. 🙃

I never knew this movie existed... after so many years later! It is a wonderful story and movie...I would have liked it back then if I saw it... (eh... is this time travel to the future, did this movie really exist back then...or only now...? 😅)

we are traveling through the universe at about 1,000 MPH. Even if we could travel back to the past, we would be stuck somewhere in outer space.I had often dreamed about going back into the past but at my age nobody would recognize me. Now traveling to the future is possible but you could never return. Ah well.

sure.. introducing a foreign lifeform into an alien ecosystem can't go wrong.. right? (at the end when David takes the lifeform from the ship)

What would you do? Easy, search the universe for immortality, get all the superior tech, get back to the past and become the world immortal overmind, leading the world into a better future where there are no wars and evil banned and outlawed.
