- i thought i'd start the year off right by watching a disney channel original movie starring demi lovato and selena gomez and despite the fact that sentence could probably refer to about 10 different movies...let me tell you this one was probably the most okay of them all

I hope you react to more single dcoms without a sequel like this one. Some examples are Starstruck, Geek Charming, and Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior but if you do want to do a series than I recommend Cheetah Girls

I absolutely loved this film. Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez were just absolutely amazing together and it surprises me they haven't done any other songs together.
They were best friend irl until Selena started hanging out with Taylor, Demi doesn't (or didn't) like Taylor so they got into some drama. I don't know if that changed, but I do know Demi goes through a period of like- being friendly with Selena and then unfollowing her and making a statement that she wants to get rid of all "toxic people" in her life. So that's prob why they didn't do anything else together.
Here's the thing, is that I rewatched this movie not very long ago, and for the lols I decided to watch it with a queer lens because why the hell not (blame _Adventures in Babysitting,_ 2016 - I will not elaborate) and when you do that, it becomes _very easy_ to ship Rosie and Carter (headcannoning the former a lesbian and the latter, bisexual). Like, to the point where I wonder if, in another world, this movie could have been a gay romance. A really weird and chaotic romance, but still. It did make my rewatch very fun, if nothing else.
As it is, though, I can definitely appreciate that it doesn't force either of the characters to end up in a romantic relationship to have a happy ending.
the 'alien needs to learn to human' aspect of the princess character is shockingly accurate to reality - wealthy kids really are absolutely, shockingly, disturbingly clueless about the real world.
This movie is my CHILDHOOD. Pure perfection 👌
I really enjoy all of Seamus' different series/content, but watching and listening to him and Vegard react to shows or movies seriously sends me 😂 Their banter and commentary is so hilarious!
It's my favorite genre of video. It just feels like sitting down on the couch to watch a bad movie with friends.

"I think I may have to stop calling you 'pal'." I grew up with this movie, so let me explain what I think this line means.
I always interpreted 'pal' as Carter's little nickname her dad gave her. It was probably something he started calling her very early on in her life, so it was probably seen as a little kid nickname, kinda like how I call my littlest little brothers 'buddy.' Carter's dad saying he might have to stop calling her 'pal' is him acknowledging that she's growing up and that she's not a little girl anymore. It makes sense, given that this line is said in the scene when Carter gets all dressed up, probably for one of the first times in her life. Carter's dad sees her in a whole new light and realizes that she's growing up into a beautiful young lady.

I think you should watch The Color of Friendship its based on actual events about the friendship between two girls; Mahree & Piper, one from the United States and the other from apartheid South Africa.
Disney Channel "took a risk by unapologetically making a completely necessary albeit heavy statement about prejudice with one of their kid-focused films, and it is well worth it.

My girlfriend and I watched this movie together a couple months ago cause we're both nostalgic for it and I was surprised at how well it holds up. It's not spectacular or anything but it's very enjoyable

you like to think a teenage mean girl wouldn't really be so petty as to endanger a princess who is in hiding from hostile forces over something so petty as who gets to be homecoming queen.....then you remember people have such poor sense of priorities that they're willing to kill over someone getting their fast food order wrong

I used to love this movie solely for it being based in Louisiana. I lived there growing up and the bayou hardly ever got that "hollywood representation" so to speak lol. But it ruined it when I noticed the mountains in the far background in a few scenes at their home... Louisiana is flat af 🤣

As a franchise this does have potential and doesn’t need to stick with the established protagonists, rather looking at different monarchies and walks of life. Could even have a guy as the regular life representative and develops a brother/sister relationship with the princess, or have the protection program branch out to the princes in distress. Maybe even do the kind of social commentary the ZOMBIE franchise was heavy handed at since the premise is ripe for exploring class conflict and the like. But alas it wasn’t a musical so Disney couldn’t sell CDs, just the Selena and Demi team up single and the sequels went to Teen Beach Movie, Descendants and ZOMBIE.
With more original content, like series, being made for Disney+ this could be worked into a series. Because the idea isn’t tied to Selena or Demi’s characters it can live on with new characters.
Im pretty sure you get the "it to be blue to show its bluetooth" from icarly. Because freddy's camera is supposed to be wireless. So they stuck a glow stick on the camera and computer to pretend its like bluetooth. And the glow sticks are blue. Because... blue = bluetooth

Oh!! I'm glad you did this one, and yes do love your reacts especially with Vegard chilling around as well, fun dynamic. My fave dcoms ever are Stepsister fron Planet Weird and Minute Men, but this one was one I really liked as well.
I remember when it came out and my bestie and the time and I watched it during the tv premier because of course we did. It was really fun and cute. We got snacks and stuff. When the dvd came out I got it with the charm that went with the charm bracelet. It was all in all a fun time with this one, definitely no masterpiece compared to all cinema but for dcoms it might be.

The DCOMs I really loved were Twitches and Twitches Too - I used to watch them every Halloween along with the first Halloweentown. Would really like for someone to react/review them as I don't know how well they hold up without nostalgia glasses.

I loved this movie growing up- I used to look up princess on Netflix and this popped up so I watched it a few times lol
This movie was fine. I was older than the target demographic for Disney Channel when it came out, but I was studying film and wanted to work in children's media. It never happened, but I watched a lot of Disney Channel in college and this movie was fine. It wasn't a masterpiece or anything, but I enjoyed it
