      Definitely 😁👍 I'm curious what's going on with this car that it's going trough oil like that.

    Some U joints are glued in place, you melt the glue and press it out. But if there's no groove for a snap ring, you can't swap out to an older style.

    FYI all 4x4s drive on the rear in 2 wheel front wheels are chain driven. I dont know where you are but where i am we have an A-1 driveshaft they rebuild and balance those shafts for around $300 and from what iv run into on those years its usually the oil pressure sender leaking

    I can only imagine how much a dealership would charge for that service. Find a good private mechanic folks!!!!!! Save money 💰

      This can get very expensive and it's not even a difficult job .

    Try Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts. A lot of 4 wheelers have custom drive shafts made by them. If not find a local drive shaft shop in your area. They can make a custom shaft for probably less than Tom Wood's. Guy Franks

    I loved the way you put your used oil in the car, and the fact that it took FIVE quarts to fill it lmao. That must have been the entire amount that came out of your car when you drained your oil.

    You could pull one from a junk yard or even get Adams driveshaft to make you one. Lots of places can make one for less than $400.

    phillip bailey channel did a staked driveshaft on a rx350. if the joints are the proper dimension i wonder if you can put them in then put tack welds so it doesnt escape. if phillip bailey can do it then i think your skills are up to par. its just if you want to mess with it

      I'm sure it could be done. The internet is no place to post a video doing that because people would eat you alive in the comment section 🤣

      true. its always easy to be self rightous when its not you paying the bills. in any case someone mentioned you can get an aftermarket driveshaft for about 250 on ebay

    You should have known that when it has a rear drive shaft that's the main drive.😂

    IMO Smoke test that engine. Probably valve seals, very easy to replace,
    inexpensive parts (seals, valve cover gaskets) On RA that Driveshaft is $250.
    Valve stuff is $30 cover gaskets w/grommets and $30 seals.
    $320 parts + your labor is keeping that car alive for someone.

    Hey bro I had loud clanking in my jeep grand cherokee 07 comming from the front drive area, could not 100% pinpoint where noise was comming from, so I pulled the front drive shaft wanting to just run 2wd for now and it won't move an inch. Won't do nothing....any ideas? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

    I mean you could find it cheaper... No way I'd drive that just with the front. Asking for issues with the front now.

      Yeah it's crazy. If there's one thing you are going to do ...it's check/change the oil.

  • @BruceLyeg
    @BruceLyeg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How can she afford to have to fill it with oil every week? That's crazy! Is there no one making a cheaper aftermarket drive shaft?

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! That gets expensive. I told her to stop by and get used oil from me if she wants

  • @oldskool1979
    @oldskool1979 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not check your local junkyards for a shaft ??????????

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A shaft from the junk yard probably won't be in much better condition

      @@themechanic6117 as long as it works for her a few years man....that engine wont last much longer with no oil lol

    *"U-Joint"*
    + = Trunnion
    Y = Yoke
    [ = Bearing Caps (4)
    lllll = Needle Bearings
    G = G clips (4)
    Zurk fitting is optional.
    At least you didn't refer to it as a "thingee"🤦🏾‍♂
