  • 28 Year Old Patient was referred to London Dental Specialists with tremendous pain in her molar teeth. Both teeth had deep fillings and had developed abscesses in the etch. This was a complex case. Should we extract and place implants or carryout complex root canal treatment? what this film to find out?

    How long did the patient have to take antibiotics to clear the infection in the bone - I still see it on the pic after the root canal was completed.

      This is an excellent question. We never prescribe antibiotics after root canal treatment. The “infection” in the bone will clear itself over a period of time (12-24 months),because the cause of the infection has been removed by Neha’s excellent root treatment. Best wishes

    I broke off a small peice of 2nd molor upper teeth on a damm kernel. I don't feel any pain or nothing, I'm not sure if it's the tooth or a filling the fell off. If it's the tooth it can be saved right? Soon as I called the dentist they mentioned extraction

    My root canal treatment on one of my molars only lasted three years. Six weeks ago I had to have the tooth pulled! Why didn’t my root canal treatment last?

    • @londondentalspecialists
      @londondentalspecialists  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Carolyn, I am sorry that you had an extraction and I am sure that there was a very good reason for the failure. The most common (that we cannot fix) is a minor/major crack in the tooth. There are a significant minority of cases where they can only be saved in specialist practice so therefore please let us know if you (or friends and family) would like a second opinion in the future

    Of course you are pushing root canal treatment .. It's the more expensive choice...more money in doc's pocket.

      root canal yes saves teeth and the agro of implant . But you and your luck as a root canal is a Freaking time bomb really . I Had issue of falling in that 5% of my.first root canal failing and got infected. Lucky I wasn't in any pain but noticed a puss filled spot on gum lime the root canal tooth , thus infected and I had a 2nd root canal treatment . Finger crossed it last abit longer . Having a implant is just a mega issue it's seriously expensive and a long!!! process

      I had RCT done 2 years ago now my tooth same one as this video failed massive infection and dental abscess. Caused a month of misery and now I have to get it extracted the root tip fractured. This was done by a Edodontist . Honestly I don’t think I can handle the implant procedure it’s not about the money it’s about the procedure for someone with dental anxiety. My skin is itching and I’m worried it spread which can cause major problems . Honestly wish I would have just yanked it from the beginning. Now my opposite side you can still see infection year later but very small maybe still healing hope that doesn’t cause me the same misery
