FFXIII's Treasure Hunter was the bane of my existence when I was younger. I got every single other trophy in that game by 2011, and me and a friend worked so hard to try and get Treasure Hunter and the Platinum back then but we came up short. I was so distressed by all the effort going to nothing that I couldn't bring myself to come back and try again in the proceeding 12 years, haha. I dug my old PS3 out of storage when I was getting ready to move at the beginning of this year and it got me thinking about that damned trophy again. I still had all my old saves and a MUCH better guide to it and so I finally managed to do it. Finally got that Platinum trophy, 12 years in the making, haha.
The pisstake was that it was potentially impossible. Iirc it was a damn ice bangle or something that was missable. Thankfully I got the plat but it took 210 hours. Honestly I find ffxii harder, because you need to perform ridiculous amounts of quickening combos which are basically random. Could never manage it.
@@reahthorolund8373 That damned Frost Ring, haha! Just the fact that you could miss an accessory because you didn't upgrade EVERYTHING was infuriating. Not to mention the panic attack I had when I realized there were only 3 Doctor's Code's in the game and I only had two when I checked back then... ugh... it was so stressful! I only ever had XII on the PS2 so I never bothered to try to 100%, but I Platinumed the OG 7 and the Remake, and now I'm working through Crisis Core. I just recently Platinumed FFX after like a million years cause I finally mustered up enough energy to dodge the lightning bolts, haha. I swear it's the stupidest trophies that get ya! And I'm going nowhere near the FFX-2 Platinum, haha. I don't think I have it in me right now to get into the weeds like that. 😂
Congrats on eventually getting it, I love FF13 so much I went for platinum twice and never got it. No idea what I missed but I'll try a 3rd time at some point!!
@@marketman2187 Thank you! Honestly, I wanted that Platinum so bad because 13 is one of my favorite games ever. If I learned anything from the experience, it's... you'll get it eventually. Even if you need to step away from it for a little while (or a LONG while, haha). If Treasure Hunter is your issue like it was mine, get yourself a good guide or a list of weapons and accessories and go madman on it. Double and triple check, keep your own list. Once you get into the upgrading part it becomes a bit wider, but definitely a lot more straightforward. Once you know who you have to kill to farm materials, it's just grinding, but realizing you don't have one of the base form weapons or accessories after all of that is really annoying. Fortunately most of the weapons and accessories you need are purchasable, so if you're on that track, start by clearing out every single store, haha. Rooting for you! 😁
I'm right in the middle of a 100% Platinum Challenge for the entire FF series. I've completed 1-7 and am on FF7 Remake right now. These games are coming up soon and it's about to get very interesting. Thanks for another awesome video!
If I really enjoy a game, I will usually make a half-hearted attempt to get the platinum trophy after I've beaten it. But it doesn't take much friction for me to abandon the pursuit. I love a challenge, but I have no patience. My favorite trophies are the ones that point you toward jokes and easter eggs. Those are especially common in adventure games such as "Day of the Tentacle Remastered" and "Disco Elysium". I love when a trophy makes me look for something I wouldn't have even known about.
The worst one was the Chocobo Race for me. It was my last one in X. And honestly im just bad at it. Ive had several hundred tries... In the End a friend of mine did it for me in like under 50 runs... xD
@@Davethawave1999 even worse I kept the memory card for years and years and it turns out my xwife decided to go through my box of games and took my memory card and wiped it so she could play something (can't recall what game) and lost my 1100 hour save.
Got the 7 Remake, 9, 10-2, 13 and 14 (PS4) platinums on this list. Working away at the PS5 platinum for FF14 slowly. Really surprised that 12 didn’t feature on this list though as that required all sky pirate den achievements, espers and hunts. On top of that, the trial mode with the judge boss fight was no joke. Either way, great vid as always.
Big FFXII fan here and I'd say its Platinum doesn't count as "hard" compared to most games because nearly all of XII's trophies are tied to combat and exploration. It's just a checklist, so while time-consuming, it's very straightforward. Other games have trophies attached to minigames or weird one-time mechanics, which are more challenging. XII's hardest trophy that I can remember is the one for getting all the Mist concurrences, as there's a bit of RNG there.
Absolutely. I truly think the devs put the hardest fight before Pride & Joy on purpose because there's no way they thought it was more difficult than that combo fight.
Oh definitely! In my run on the main story, Bahamut/Ifrit would always be the one I get stuck on! But Pride and Joy was pretty manageable to an extant. If I remember correctly just keep spamming Thunder and have Tifa attack from behind
Genuinely I remember taking so long to defeat Bahamut and Ifrit that even after hearing the Pride and Joy prototype wasn't that hard, I still took the fight seriously and ended up laughing on how quickly I finished it
It’s such a shame that the platinum trophy for FFIX is so unbelievably hard. Since it’s my favourite game of all time, and I’m not nearly skilled enough by now to power through all those rediculous trophies. But it doesn’t mean I enjoy the game any less. It’s a master piece.
I’d like to confirm Chocobo Mystery Dungeon as one of the hardest in this entry, if not the hardest, now that I’m done with it. This trophy list was definitely thought up to be a “best of” most painstakingly Final Fantasy trophies, the insatiable dungeon is a worse via infinito, the treasure hunter trophy consists of much more items you need to collect compared to 13’s, the every buddy trophy is like the bestiary of 10-2 only much worse, and maxing out all jobs is a long long grind just like the sphere grid in 10. It’s not as known as the mainline entries, but wow! I’m not saying this lightly: this platinum was STRESSFUL! It took me around 145 hours to finally get it done, and every single dungeon was NEVER something you could mentally zone off, nono! Every one of them had a specific gimmick that made your life hard, you better stay alert or it’s back to the starting line. In the trophy list you have the Treasure Hunter trophy, which, FF13 enthusiasts guessed it already, collect all items, and nope, you don’t have a checklist, just like in 13, but what’s worse, is the every buddy trophy, which forced me not one, not twice, not thrice, but four times to do the hard and tedious, like really TEDIOUS 500 floor dungeon. It’s a nice game, but I wouldn’t wish on anyone trying to get this platinum. If someone though, isn’t discouraged by it, then I can only suggest the Beastmaster job+ Camilla/ dungeon hero x as a buddy, speed is extremely important in fights, and Beastmaster is the only job that casts haste to both, it doesn’t have access to slow or poison, unfortunately, but you can use books for that.
I 100% completed FFVII Remake months ago. But I must say the hardest challenges to me was the Pull Up mini game, Squat minigame, Yuffie Box Challenge, and the Shinra Battle Simulator (Yuffie DLC). A lot of people say that Fort Condor was hard, but you can literally cheese this easily (even on Hard Mode) just by spamming Dogs and Slug Rays 😂
Probably the plat I'm most proud of. Between the pull ups and the hard mode run through (I'm 40 and my reaction times aren't what they were) it was a challenging time. It never felt unfair though.
I didn't do all the Yuffie DLC stuff, but nothing felt egregiously difficult where I wanted to throw my controller. That Tifa pull-up challenge was pretty crazy though. I think I kept time for it out loud which helped me. And of course, some boss fights in Hard Mode were challenging if you didn't know how to cheese them or spam Tifa (I got the platinum in May 2020, so I didn't know).
I got the Platinum on FF7R for PS4, The Gotterdammerung was the thing that got me through the rest of hard mode easier. I put it on Aerith during that boss fight with Barrett and Red XIII and with her level 2 it was much easier to manage
100% FFIX was so stressful! Especially as someone who doesn't like missing anything I had to figure out what I could go back and complete/get/see and what was one time only 😅
8:20 I never imagined I’d be watching a video from one of my favourite channels and randomly see my own gameplay used in a video!! Thank you for the feature and another great video…..PS: the only platinum on the list I own is the FFXIII one, which is a story in itself
it's ok to screw this. i only do the sword fighting minigame and running with Hippaul. it's ridiculouosly hard, as is that thunder dodging minigame in FFX.
I'll admit,I did the remote play trick. It's cheating, I know but damn, how anyone could do this legit, I don't know. Even with the automated hack, the timing is so tight, that any bump in your internet and the hack fails. I had to run the algorithm three times before it succeeded
@@intactwindow I managed to get the 1000 jumps. This wasnt too hard. Just required to be rly good at rithm. But Hippo race, was imposible. Ma hands hurt after the attempts.
Literally just got platinum trophies from both FFX AND FFX 2.. the sphere grid in X made me see sphere grids in my sleep and X2 had more save backups than my sex life... Played both when they came out, and they seemed easier back then...
7 Ruby/emerald weapon i guess. 8 omega 9 jump rope and bloodlust 10 penance and dun sigil 10-2 trema and just how detailed you have to be for 100 percent. Need a damn good guide 12 100 floor boss rush. 13 all items. So many dead turtles... 15 fishing? This one wasn't too bad if you sink the time in
@@paulfox5331 you'll need the turtles for money. Hardest part of treasure hunter is you need to upgrade every weapon and accessory. The turtles drops are the best way to raise cash for the resources required to upgrade your stuff. Lots and lots of adamantitois killing
yeah I don’t remember all that well since my trophies were combined over playing through the game on ps3 and then later ps4… I’m still not 100% sure the trophy didn’t trigger by accident 😂
Triple Tiara. It just breaks the game. What I did was make it past fifty, let Trema knock me back down to the entrance and killed everything on my way back up. This allowed me to be strong enough to take down the tonberries and Major Numerous once I reached them. Not the best way but it worked for me.
Just cheat the jumprope, the devs couldn't get past 50 and if you didn't they would say stop wasting your time. Check out the completionist top 10 worst achievements if you need sauce.
I've said for years that Final Fantasy XIII is the platinum that I regret putting time into. I felt so empty getting that trophy. Treasure hunter... casting death on the dinosaur things for hours...
I feel you. I've put 135 hours into this game, and when I got that platinum trophy I've never felt this empty in my entire life. Like you said, it was not worth it at all. XIII-2 was better though !
@@thisdadsplatinumjourney I found the optimal set up for kill grinding and then set up the Lord of the rings extended edition on my portable DVD player. Almost finished all three movies .... For real though, look up the remote play hack for the jump rope stuff. It's not possible otherwise
Dude no kidding. Took me about 3-4 days, 3 hours each, to get that trophy...then, just as a major "fuck you," you have to be extra careful with FF9 and saving. Because kills don't carry over in-between saves or in-between playthroughs. It needs to be on **one save** and on **one playthrough**. Oh, and by the way, there's no way of checking how many enemies you kill. Felt like Square was overcompensating for how easy 7 and 8 were lol.
By far, the platinum trophy for Final Fantasy XV is probably the most straight-forward and easiest of all to acquire, with the only real challenges being however much time players are going to be willing to devote to this game and the fight against Adamantoise. Despite being a title with a mixed reception, I played through the Royal Edition version without worrying too much about the additional trophies and I throughly enjoyed it. It's still one of my favorite Final Fantasy games to this day!
1000 rope jumps are the hardest trophy for me, more than "killing 10,000 monsters" in FFIX You will eventually get bloodlust trophy in FFIX if you play the game long enough, or you can just easily turn on auto battle, fast forward, 9999 hit, and just let the game play by itself by running in circle on the world map until you kill 10,000 enemies.
I can't remember if it was a trophy or not.. but in FF10 i think it was something like you had to dodge lightning so many times... I remember that was a really horrible experience.
Yup...the Thunder Plains where...if you manage to dodge the 200 lightning strikes, you'll end up getting Lulu's Venus sigil which you will need eventually to power up her Ultimate Weapon, the "Onion Knight". It truly IS one BITCH of a challenge! 😫😫😫
that was an incredibly easy trophy...you just need an encounter-none armor and the crater near the entrance had a predictable strike pattern that pushed you to a tower, you basically just walked to the edge and perfect dodge the predictable bolts and rested under the tower every 10 or so strikes to rest your eyes and hand...i recently just finished my 10 platinum and did it on the first attempt. I think the butterfly minigame and 0.00 time on chocobo race were much more annoying...that being said, atleast all the annoying trophies in 10 link to legit things you needed to do in order to claim "i have a complete file"
Currently working on FFIX and VII:Re at the moment. The jump rope was impossible for me on PS5, there’s almost like a delay to it and things just get worse over time. I used the remote play method and got it, I’m not proud but I didn’t want it to stop me from achieving the platinum, I’m so close now.
You also had to get several trophies relating to the Last Mission content added with the International version, which was played like a rogue dungeon crawler, which was a bit frustrating to some people.
I got the FF7 Remake platinum and once I finally got that one I felt like a big achievement has been accomplished. I am not someone who typically plays games on hard difficulty but I wanted to do a second playthrough of the game and I chose the hard difficulty. I started my second playthrough thinking I will just play it as far as I can get and then switch to easy, but that didn’t happen and I never gave up. Even though there was a few bosses I struggled with, I didn’t give up because I still had fun playing the game. Oddly I found my second playthrough, even though it took like twice as long to complete because I did everything, was much more fun than the first playthrough on easy.
I have Final Fantasy 7, Crisis Core, 7 Remake, 8, 10, 13, 15, Strangers of Paradise and Type 0 platinumed. 9 and 12 I can fully understand that I will never get them, everything will take time. 13-2 I'm close to platinuming
I’m so glad you mentioned Final Fantasy IX AND you mentioned the Remote Play cheat for Hail to the King! So many people still don’t know that the cheat exists!
I actually got the platinum "A Realm Restored" from the PS4 version of Final Fantasy XIV. The hard part wasn't the farming. It was having to wait six real life months to get "An Adventurer's Life" which is completing 1000 levequests. There is no way to reduce this time as you only get three levequest allowances every 12 hours of real time and you will lose levequest allowances if you are capped at 100. However, I do admit that the FATE grind and dungeon grinds were tedious.
Something to be noted with Final Fantasy 14. The collectibles on the crafting tier. They are specific to certain quest turn ins. So they are outside of your normal crafting. Turning in collectibles results in crafting Scripps. Which can be used to buy various items. Gathering also has a similar theme to it. So normal items you would craft make money. Don’t actually apply to that trophy.
Currently going for all FF Platinums as well. Currently have: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 7 Remake, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 15 Pocket Edition, King's Tale (100% because doesn't have a platinum), Type-0, Crisis Core, Strangers of Paradise and Theatrhythm Final Bar. Currently playing 6 and 14 and will start playing all the others spin-off games and sequels after I finish 16. It's been a journey and loved every second of it.
I managed to get the platinum for ix, and it almost ruined the game for me. It was just so unbelievably rough. I used a scripting program for the jump rope game, and I of course sped up the game for Excalibur 2, but even so, it was crazy to me at just how hard and involved it was. Of all my 200+ platinum trophies, this would probably be the one I would least like to attempt against
Ff13's Treasure Hunter trophy was the only I needed. Spent SO much time leveling weapons and accessories, and not understanding what was still missing.
Trophy hunting is so addictive. I've got 87 platinum trophies lol. Final fantasy wise, I've earned the platinum for 6,7,8,10, 10-2, 13, 15, 7 remake, type 0, and crisis core. I have two trophies left to earn the platinum for 9 (the brother minigame, and Excalibur) and 5 or 6 trophies left in 13-2. Been working on getting some trophies in world of final fantasy as well
I hunted down quite a few of these FFVII, FFVII R (Minus the InterMission DLC), FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, FFXIII, FFXIII-2, FFXV (And All DLC up until Comrades), and FF Type 0. Still working on some of em, but I'm quite proud of my collection.
I waited 15 years to play FFVII Remake, so I damn well sure I got that Platinum, which is the hardest one I ever got (harder than Bloodborne and Eldenring) but it was SO satisfying!
@@holitinne ah, I see. Soulsborne games themselves were too hard for me, so I tend to stay away from the genre as a whole. So I have no idea what the plat conditions are for them.
Trip down to memory lane with FF13... Indeed the L'Cie Paragon and Treasure Hunter were my last 2 trophies to obtain Platinum. For the L'Cie Paragon the Vencingetorix at the Yaschaf Massif was quite a pain in the butt. Key: Keep smashing Poison till it sticks. As for the treasure hunter, that was the final one before Platinum. Especially for the final weapon of Fang. I needed some Platinum Ignots and Trapezohedron, but was luckily at a high level and all the Crystarium trails were maxed out. The fearsome Shaolong Gui/Long Gui's were not really a challenge anymore for the Ignots. FYI: The regular game was finished in about 65 hours. Then it took me till 128 hours to get Platinum. Very satisfying to see Platinum pops up, but man what a trip!
I have the platinum trophys for 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15 and 7 remake all for ps4, and out of all them 9 and 12 were by far the most challenging for me, even with the speed multipliers.
I was obsessed with trophies many years, getting more than 40 platinums, until I recently disabled their notifications and hide them from my PSN profile. Gaming more on Switch has made this easier when coming back to the PS5 to play. I prefer to take the challenges that the game presents itself than having an external checklist. Also I started spoiling myself looking for missable trophies. For example I love FFX, but I hate how stupid the trophy about maximising every single character with all the sphere grid nodes were. I also hated the FFIX trophies. FFVII (original) trophies makes you do the Barret date, which ruins a little bit the first playthrough of an average player (thanksfully I completed it more than 10 times before getting it for PS4 and going for its platinum). So overall I think trophies, at least for me, are now a negative that I would like to disable because they affect my enjoyment. Thankfully they are easier to ignore without notifications. PS - Excellent video, as always.
I’m in the middle of getting IX’s platinum with Hail to the king already in the bag I was so proud of myself for getting it almost stopped at that point and say this is better than the Platinum 😂😂
Ive got Dissida NT, X-2, FF7 Remake, and working on FF9 soon here after i play the pixel remasters. FF9 jump rope and excalibur II are the exact trophies I'm dreading.
As someone with the ps4 ff14 platinum i was genuinely kind of tilted when I upgraded to ps5 and saw that it requires things like savage, solo-ing deep dungeons, a and s rank hunts, etc. it's genuinely one of the most involved platinums i've ever heard of given how difficult a lot of these things are without years and years of effort. And some salt on the wound is even if you did these things before upgrading it won't count for the ps5 trophies anyway.
I miss the early days of trophies, some of the trophies for a game used to be vague riddles for you to figure out, something like shooting something out of bounds, but now it's just finish the game and collect and complete everything, here's a platinum, nothing to get you thinking how do i get this trophy
Platinuming the 13 trilogy is one of the greatest achievements(no pun intended) I'm currently having a blast platinuming the Pixel Remaster and one day will tackle the beast known as Final Fantasy 14.
Does anyone know if Sony has any plans on how to resolve the issue surrounding locked online multiplayer trophies? I have a couple games that no longer have online playability due to server shutdowns, yet I'm an achievement hunter and desperately want to earn the platinum trophies for those games. If they made the decision to add those trophies, knowing full well that they would need to rely on the presence of online servers, then they should either not have included them, found a way to keep the servers running, or found a new solution altogether.
My thoughts on this list are as follows: FFX-2: I played that game back on the PS2 and while I have the X/X-2 HD Remaster for PS4, I have yet to finish X-2. Back in PS2 days, I can confidently say I would've definitely gotten platinum trophy; I oversouled all fiends in Spira including Via Infinto so I could get final Garment Grid (The End) so I could use Finale skill and got 100% completion on the save file. Everybody and everything was maxed out (dresspheres, best equipment, character levels, etc.). I have mixed reservations about doing that all over again. I didn't mind getting the platinum in the original FFX all over again but there's only so much time and so much I can handle lol. FFXIII--I didn't get platinum but I was close; I think the only trophy I was missing was the one where I had to have held all 100+ weapons because I remember getting everything else. The game was good for a one-time play through but not a lifetime keeper for me. FF7Remake: I got the trophies for the mini-games like the pull ups but I can't get past final boss on final chapter of Hard mode. The Pride & Joy gauntlet is kicking my ass five ways from Tuesday; I've made it as far as Bahamut but then he wiped me out. Don't even get me started on Weiss; I've never lasted more than 10 seconds and that's being generous because he's comparable to Yozora from KH3. Platinum will most likely remain out of my reach but I salute the players who overcame that hurdle. Cheers!
I do want to throw in this note, I have the Plats for FF7R and CCFF7R. I've been working on the 12 and15 ones but probably won't actually get them for a bit plus trying to get the FF7 and FF8 ones. Might do the pixels but not sure yet.
I have 7r , 9 , x2 and 13 from the list . Others are x, 13-2 lightning returns 8,7,12, 15 , type 0 , crisis core , stranger of paradise working on the pixel stuff the now 😅starting at the final fantasy
I have one for 7 Remake, 9, X-2, and PS4 version of 14. I didn't even know there was a PS5 list separate, thats interesting. I've gotten Platinum Trophies for all mainline games before the Pixel Remaster dropped on PS4, so I'm going to work on those next
I have the FFVII Remake platinum on PS4, but when it came out on PS5 I couldn't be bothered to mess about with the file transfer so am working my way through the trophies on PS5 too.
I'm actually working on a platinum series challenge. So far I got all of 1-10, which includes Crisis Core and 7 Remake. Next up are X-2, 12 and 15. Unfortunately there is no way to play the 13 trilogy on PS5 right now.
Have 39 plats on my ps account, half of it are final fantasy. I got all FF's plat (even type-0 and world of FF) but 9 an 10-2. Just need to beat that sheet tower for the 10-2, as for 9 I don't even want to try. I remember getting very upset with the 1000 jumps back on ps1. FF 12 for me toke the longest time (170h) but was the most enjoyable to plat. Now working on FF 16 which seems not that hard to get.
I don’t think ff12 would have been completable before internet guides or a amazing guide book at all if ps2 had trophies. Just because of all the drop rate shit from only this chest or rare enemies that you can go the whole game not know they exist.
Out of the ones I've got: FFXIII - Treasure Hunter took me like 30+ hours of additional grinding after completing all other trophies due to bad drop luck. Would be on my list. FFXIII-2 - Easy. Lightning Returns - Superbosses were challenging, although quite fun. Have to go a fair distance into NG+ for upgrades but not too bad. FFType-0 - Easy. FFX HD - Lightning Dodging... ugh. Monster Arena, Dark Aeons and Penance can be cheesed but unlocking everything still takes a while. Would easily make my list. FFX-2 HD - Complete Bestiary, 100% story, and all of the Last Mission trophies were quite tedious. Would rank pretty high on my list. FFXV - Beating the Adamantoise without the Ring of the Lucii took some work (it wasn't usable for this until later patches), but otherwise easy, and much easier now. FFXII: The Zodiac Age - Hardest parts were Trial 86 and 100, and getting all the Concurrences, but about average overall. FF7R - Hard Mode Hell House and Bahamut+Ifrit were the biggest roadblocks. Pretty challenging. FF7 Crisis Core Reunion - Relatively easy, just tedious to do all the missions. One I don't have: World of Final Fantasy - The minigames are garbage and I hate them. 😞
My only platinum at all is in 10 but I refused to claim it until I remade the sphere grid to max luck. Gonna miss farming those luck spheres and nodes.
*polishing FF13 Platinum Trophy* Believe me when I say it's not trying to 5 star every mission was the impossible bit, the real challenge was making sure I had every weapon and accessory in the game to unlock that specific trophy. If I didn't make myself a list of every weapon/accessory that exists and how to obtain them, it would've been incredibly painful. The final Mission can be your greatest challenge to 5 stars. I'm just glad people have made videos on what should be the "recommended" teams, what accessory they should hold onto and what paradigm shift formation to have.
I used the remote play way to get the FFIX jump rope trophy. And even that took days since it can cause problems but still easier than manually doing it.
Missing 14 and 9 otherwise I've got them all. Honestly I don't think I could ever do jump rope. I struggled with the 200 lightning bolts in FFX. So no way I can get 1000 jumps
Treasure hunter from FFXIII was something I really did try. I had enough gil and ressources but didn't want to Do everything in the menus. Battle grinding was ok but I couldn't be bothered
I have the platinums for 8, 10, 10-2, 13 1-3, and 16. Currently I am working on 9. I am playing a slow play through for the story and all of the trophies except the Excalibur II. I use the remote cheat for the jump rope game.
FFVII Remake was my first ever platinum, just last year, and it made me appreciate the game so much more, which is impressive given how amazing the base game is! That being said, it'll probably be a while before I try and replay it, I get flashbacks of grinding for every dress combo.
I had the platinum for it on PS4 and did again for PS5...basically have two platinums for FFVII remake, what a game. But I feel ya, the dress grind is painful
I'm actually working my way through the Platinums for each entry. Currently I've gotten 7, 7Remake, 10, 13, 15 and World of Final Fantasy. Hitting 10-2 right now and moving onto the Pixel Remasters afterwards, then just need to do 8, 9, 13-2, LR/13-3, Crisis Core and 16. 14 seems incredibly daunting. There's so many left to do. And I haven't even included Stranger of Paradise, yet, oh god 🙃
@@FumeiYuusha Thanks, good luck to you! Hope your playthroughs go well, I'm dreading the 1000 jump rope trophy in FF9, I've heard it's awful 🥲 If you'd like, we can exchange PSN names? It'd be cool to see one another's progress 😋
I just need the platinums for the pixel remasters, Chocobo, FFXIII, and FFXIV (PS5). Feel like X deserves at least an honorable mention as it's right up there with IX in terms of having a lot of annoying minigames as well as the long grind of completing the sphere grid for all characters
I randomly obtained the FF14 platinum trophy randomly fishing one day on PS4. I’ve been playing that game to long ! I wish we got the updated PS5 cause I’m sure i hit that platinum too!
Getting the mascot dresssphere in x-2 is actually not that difficult in the HD remaster, there are two ways to acquire not just one, you can also get it by completing certain tournaments in the creature creator mode, and that method is considerably easier, even being possible in ch 1.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake's platinum is actually not that bad because I just used an online exploit to take down Bahamut and Ifirt but it did take a while but defeating them and some of the bosses on the Hard difficulty is one of the most satisfying experiences I've ever had
The remaster for ff10 has a glitch where it randomly gives you trophies, i got given the achievement for defeating penenace while grinding and thats how i have the platinum trophy, to this day i still have not defeated penance although i have tried it many times
The Bloddlust trophy is the foulest challlenge for any trophy I have ever completed. That IX abducted me for a whole monthz thi it felt so good finally getting it in the end.
Just one question, how in the hell did you get a platinum trophy for What Remains of Edith Finch because as far as I know at least for the United States there is no platinum trophy for said game.
I finally got the FF13 platinum last year. That Treasure Hunter trophy alone was a combination of pure frustration and absolute exhaustion. The constant grind for items needed for both synthesis as well as gil was unreal. For example, Trapezohedrons either cost a ridiculous two million gil for a single one, or you have to farm Adamantoises with a very low drop rate. The monster is essentially a de-facto super boss. Spamming Vanille's death technique is the most time saving method, but even then, it wasn't always a sure thing. Also having to check every piece of equipment in the menu manually, then travel all the way to Oerba to speak to Bhakti for the achievement to be confirmed and then the trophy does not pop, as you are still missing something. This was incredibly annoying, to say the least. In 2022, it still took me personally around 176 hours to get the platinum.
Honestly i would put Dissidia higher, the A++ with some characters are a nightmare even with bots, and the specific things you have to accomplish while fighting are super hard and worse against bots, and damn just checked the whole 14 ps5 list, glad im sticking to the ps4 version xD Thanks for another great video
I think your last video on achievements/trophies slightly missed the mark and I think this one does too. FF7R is really not that tough of a platinum in the grand scheme of things. FFX not being present in the list is a head scratcher. That game requires some no life shenanigans to 100%.
Your basically me😅
The pisstake was that it was potentially impossible.
Thanks for another awesome video!
same only I'm on FF6 having done all the rest
Same here! Unfortunately I haven’t done 1-6, but I have done 7 and 8. 9 is a pain doing the jump rope challenge.
@@will__woods2701 same! The jump rope challenge is pure ridiculousness.
Good luck 🙏 I was planning to do the same, but after completing Dissidia and Chocobo I changed my mind.
WTF asked you
Never been a fan of trophies mostly because some of these stuff is painful to do, but I definitely respect the commitment of those who do this
If I really enjoy a game, I will usually make a half-hearted attempt to get the platinum trophy after I've beaten it.
Nobody asked or cares about your opinion
I'm surprised final fantasy 10 didn't even make the list, I feel just completing the sphere grid of every character earns it a spot.
That's not hard though. just time consuming.
Dodging lightning is still worse than that.
The worst one was the Chocobo Race for me. It was my last one in X. And honestly im just bad at it. Ive had several hundred tries... In the End a friend of mine did it for me in like under 50 runs... xD
@@ezrael7944 I attempted it for the first time in my life about 3 weeks ago and got it on my 8th try.
I just couldn't get Lulu's special weapon because of the "dodge lightening" challenge. I am surprised that didn't make the list as well.
When I was a kid (probably 15ish years ago) I managed to 100% ff10. That's my best accomplishment in all my videogame play time.
No Platinum Trophy? It never happened... Jk 👍
@@Davethawave1999 even worse I kept the memory card for years and years and it turns out my xwife decided to go through my box of games and took my memory card and wiped it so she could play something (can't recall what game) and lost my 1100 hour save.
Got it on the ps2, never managed to do it on the ps3 - only thing missing is the 0:00 chocobo race 🙈
@@zackfair6203 I platinumed, the 0.00 race is annoying and also requires luck. Reward is worth it though.
@@RazTheOtter1100 hours? That was lots of grinding, and blitzball I imagine.
My FF platinum collection will be forever growing, though IX.... It's gonna take some...
Great video as always!
How did you manage the jump rope trophy in FF9?
@@larrymeadows7535 I linked the console on my PC and runned a program to do it. I guess you can find on youtube.
XII wasnt easy for sure, but it was such an enjoyable game I didn't care how long it took. One of my absolutely favorites
@@iamerror7392 Remember the battle sound effect? So clean ^^) Love it.
I remember Pride and Joy being a relative cakewalk compared to that infernal Ifrit/Bahamut combo.
100% easier.
Pride n Joy was easy AF compared to Bahamet n Ifrit.
But that Platinum felt magical ❤
The only thing I had trouble with on my platinum run was hell house on hard mode. Everything else was pretty breezy for me.
I installed the PS5 version ready to platinum it all over again, but then the platinum popped again automatically, so I turned it off 😂
I got the Platinum on FF7R for PS4, The Gotterdammerung was the thing that got me through the rest of hard mode easier. I put it on Aerith during that boss fight with Barrett and Red XIII and with her level 2 it was much easier to manage
100% FFIX was so stressful! Especially as someone who doesn't like missing anything I had to figure out what I could go back and complete/get/see and what was one time only 😅
Jirard the Completionist: *hold my beard*
8:20 I never imagined I’d be watching a video from one of my favourite channels and randomly see my own gameplay used in a video!! Thank you for the feature and another great video…..PS: the only platinum on the list I own is the FFXIII one, which is a story in itself
He 's right about the FFIX trophy, I couldn't even make it 5 jumps on that damned minigame!
I resorted to use an auto clicker on the pc version, those who made it legit are truly insane
I am happy to say that I got all the platinum medals in Star Wars Episode 1: Battle for Naboo
I will never platinum 9 because of that darn jump rope trophy and I’m not ok with that
it's ok to screw this. i only do the sword fighting minigame and running with Hippaul. it's ridiculouosly hard, as is that thunder dodging minigame in FFX.
Maybe if we ever get the rumoured remake, they'll drop the skipping, lol.
I'll admit,I did the remote play trick. It's cheating, I know but damn, how anyone could do this legit, I don't know. Even with the automated hack, the timing is so tight, that any bump in your internet and the hack fails. I had to run the algorithm three times before it succeeded
Yep remote play was my only option and it still works its worth doing because screw the jump rope trophy 😅
@@intactwindow I managed to get the 1000 jumps. This wasnt too hard. Just required to be rly good at rithm. But Hippo race, was imposible. Ma hands hurt after the attempts.

Played both when they came out, and they seemed easier back then...
7 Ruby/emerald weapon i guess.
8 omega
9 jump rope and bloodlust
10 penance and dun sigil
10-2 trema and just how detailed you have to be for 100 percent. Need a damn good guide
12 100 floor boss rush.
13 all items. So many dead turtles...
15 fishing? This one wasn't too bad if you sink the time in

I actually have the 100% completion trophy in X-2, it’s actually probably the most proud I’ve ever been for a trophy since they started on PS3 😂
PLEASE give me some advice for the Last Mission. It sucks so much 😂
yeah I don’t remember all that well since my trophies were combined over playing through the game on ps3 and then later ps4… I’m still not 100% sure the trophy didn’t trigger by accident 😂
@@MelisUnys Oh yeah. Platting FFXIII-2 actually felt good. Lightning Returns, I felt empty but not as much as FFXIII.
Ff9 is my favorite in the series. Breaks my heart that jump rope was included in the plat 😭
I am one trophy away from getting the platinum in XIII, XII, X, and IX respectively. This is my secret shame.
Pride and Joy was a cake walk compared to Bahamut.
The jump rope on 9 is ridiculous. I stopped attempting the platinum after I finished the game at 64% lol
9. For sure 9. That was a beast. 10+ hours of simple kill grinding. Ugh
Not looking forward to doing this 😕
@@thisdadsplatinumjourney I found the optimal set up for kill grinding and then set up the Lord of the rings extended edition on my portable DVD player. Almost finished all three movies .... For real though, look up the remote play hack for the jump rope stuff. It's not possible otherwise
@Matt Sully haha for sure I'll be lining up some podcasts or movies for sure to get me through 😁 I've got the jump rope and yeah did the hack 😅
I definitely watched TV for this one, and also grinding the sphere grid in x and farming andamantoises in xiii. It's just so mind numbing otherwise
Use the ring and one shot it. Yes it works 😂
@Rossbines.. I did not have that luxury when the game first came out... easily 30mins
I need to return to it, i left it with only a few left. But i had also forgot how the combat worked last attempt, so it felt awful
1000 rope jumps are the hardest trophy for me, more than "killing 10,000 monsters" in FFIX
You will eventually get bloodlust trophy in FFIX if you play the game long enough, or you can just easily turn on auto battle, fast forward, 9999 hit, and just let the game play by itself by running in circle on the world map until you kill 10,000 enemies.
I think the butterfly minigame and 0.00 time on chocobo race were much more annoying...that being said, atleast all the annoying trophies in 10 link to legit things you needed to do in order to claim "i have a complete file"
i'm almost done with my ffx-2 plat
Currently working on FFIX and VII:Re at the moment. The jump rope was impossible for me on PS5, there’s almost like a delay to it and things just get worse over time. I used the remote play method and got it, I’m not proud but I didn’t want it to stop me from achieving the platinum, I’m so close now.
Nah the delay ruins it, don't feel bad
So far I've gotten the Platinum Trophy in Final Fantasy 4, 7, and 8. Going for all of them, no idea how I'm going to pull it off but I'll find a way!

My internet connection is too rubbish to make it work 😭
@@sirloinestakegames7866 Take your console to a friend’s house for a day. Or worst case, get a portable screen and take it to Starbucks lol.
Figured FF8 would be on here with all the card based trophies
I already have it in my mind that I'm going to platinum FF16, so there better not be any unfair trophies to get for it. 😅
I waited 15 years to play FFVII Remake, so I damn well sure I got that Platinum, which is the hardest one I ever got (harder than Bloodborne and Eldenring) but it was SO satisfying!

Looking forward to that documentary! It’s still the game I’m most sentimental about in the series
I’m in the middle of getting IX’s platinum with Hail to the king already in the bag
I was so proud of myself for getting it almost stopped at that point and say this is better than the Platinum 😂😂
Ive got Dissida NT, X-2, FF7 Remake, and working on FF9 soon here after i play the pixel remasters. FF9 jump rope and excalibur II are the exact trophies I'm dreading.
So happy I got the plat from FFXIII just because I never have to do it again.
My thoughts on this list are as follows:
FFX-2: I played that game back on the PS2 and while I have the X/X-2 HD Remaster for PS4, I have yet to finish X-2.
Cheers!
As far as the list I have only gotten the FF7R plat so far. I will get more, but I saw the FF9 list and went, NAH I'm good.
As a trophy hunter I thoroughly enjoyed this video, thank you guys ❤️
I have the FFVII Remake platinum on PS4, but when it came out on PS5 I couldn't be bothered to mess about with the file transfer so am working my way through the trophies on PS5 too.
I'm actually working on a platinum series challenge. So far I got all of 1-10, which includes Crisis Core and 7 Remake. Next up are X-2, 12 and 15. Unfortunately there is no way to play the 13 trilogy on PS5 right now.
Another great video as always!
Out of the ones I've got:
FFXIII - Treasure Hunter took me like 30+ hours of additional grinding after completing all other trophies due to bad drop luck.
One I don't have:
World of Final Fantasy - The minigames are garbage and I hate them. 😞
*sees the Dissidia NT trophies*
Fighting game fans: “Now you know how difficult the genre can be sometimes”
Was a harsh month for me and i love the game a lot and am a regular with fighting games lol
My only platinum at all is in 10 but I refused to claim it until I remade the sphere grid to max luck. Gonna miss farming those luck spheres and nodes.
9:00 so glad FFX-2 got the shout out
I just got FF9's and what the heck were they thinking when programming some of those trophies?
Its been 17 years since I got my PS3 and have still yet to get a platinum trophy in anything
*polishing FF13 Platinum Trophy*
Believe me when I say it's not trying to 5 star every mission was the impossible bit, the real challenge was making sure I had every weapon and accessory in the game to unlock that specific trophy.
Just got the plat for each of the pixel remasters, got 7, 7r, 8, 13-2, 15 as well. Don't think I've done any others due to requirements.
Nice work 👏
@This Dad's Platinum Journey thanks, they're the relatively easy ones though.
Just noticed the game timer for FFXIII in the bottom left corner during the footage where you equipped the Gold Watch. 235 hours of playtime? Whaaaa?
The only final fantasy game I got the platinum in was X.
I loved ff 12 sky den, it is how I envisioned trophies/achievements be like
I used the remote play way to get the FFIX jump rope trophy.
The ultimate sword is not too bad you can overflow the time however the jump rope one is EVIL
I have the platinums for 8, 10, 10-2, 13 1-3, and 16.
Currently I am working on 9. I am playing a slow play through for the story and all of the trophies except the Excalibur II. I use the remote cheat for the jump rope game.
No FF7? Damn shame
@@felipeviana1994 Just started my Crisis Core Reunion Plat grind! It's not off to a great start, in all honesty, lol
Don't forget about 1-6. The pixel remaster added trophies for those as well. ^.^
@@FumeiYuusha I mentioned those, hah. Just after I said I was hitting 10-2 😋
@@MalevolentMinun How did I miss that? I'm sorry, well either way we're both doing the same journey so good luck to you!
@@FumeiYuusha Thanks, good luck to you! Hope your playthroughs go well, I'm dreading the 1000 jump rope trophy in FF9, I've heard it's awful 🥲
If you'd like, we can exchange PSN names? It'd be cool to see one another's progress 😋
I just need the platinums for the pixel remasters, Chocobo, FFXIII, and FFXIV (PS5).
Feel like X deserves at least an honorable mention as it's right up there with IX in terms of having a lot of annoying minigames as well as the long grind of completing the sphere grid for all characters
Watching this while trying to get Setzer’s 7-7-7 on FFVI, it’s not going well, wish me luck
You missed FFX and the damn Chocobo training races, lightning dodges, etc. Absolutely dreadful!
Honestly i would put Dissidia higher, the A++ with some characters are a nightmare even with bots, and the specific things you have to accomplish while fighting are super hard and worse against bots, and damn just checked the whole 14 ps5 list, glad im sticking to the ps4 version xD
Thanks for another great video
I think your last video on achievements/trophies slightly missed the mark and I think this one does too. FF7R is really not that tough of a platinum in the grand scheme of things. FFX not being present in the list is a head scratcher. That game requires some no life shenanigans to 100%.
i have the ff9 platinum, fucking bloodlust man............
