I pray I miss heard Decker saying 10 years and he does not have a Million sub's yet, he beyond deserves it!
I think he deserves it too, but he doesn't upload frequently or consistently enough to help him get there. In my personal opinion, he's one of the best movie critics on the platform in terms of entertainment, but you never know if you have to wait a week or a month for the next review.
I honestly get surprised when I look at he's subscriber count. I always think he has more like at least 500k.

I actually liked the movie because it actually fleshed out Candymans origin and made you feel that he deserved to get his revenge.
They can flesh things out without retconning.

Definitely wasnt amazing but for sequels, this was solid
Yeah, I loved it actually. Nowhere near as good as the original of course. The retconning didn't bother me though because I'm so used to horror sequels at this point. I just wish it was as...artsy...as the first one. :) So to me, the cinematography wasn't as great, even though it still did have some unique shots and angles.
@@river_acheron figured that was always an issue because the first had care, made money, now money. Sad but true. Tony Todd being him is the art but the visuals did suffer. I think my big issue was all that rich setup and shock ending to... yeah. It's good but i want more than good from candyman. Dream master/child, are they palatable? Yes. Are they dream warriors? No. Texas chainsaw 2 is my exception because well, they embraced crazy and chop top. Important bit! Not hellraiser sequel levels of bad so thats something.
@@thegreenbaron8678 In terms of the Nightmare movies, while I LOVE Dream Warriors, my favorite aside from the original is actually Freddy's Revenge. I know thats an unpopular opinion but it is sooo dark, so unsettling. Its as serious as a heart attack, that one. There's an uneasy tension. (And Freddy's makeup is the best in that one too).
@@river_acheron Pool Scene lost me. Loved the slow burn and Jessie's scream was amazing but that segway to generic slasher scene was off putting. Nancys diary felt out of place too. Respect them for trying something, it just had some wonky bits for me
@@thegreenbaron8678 I understand but the posession angle makes sense when you watch the later ones. (Of course on screen we see "Freddy" but it was a possessed Jesse doing it.) Freddy can never get to any new kid (non Elm Street kid whos parents was not involved) unless there was someone to bring them to him. 4 and 5 and 6 got around this of course in different ways which...well you saw the movies so I wont go into. But yeah, I definitely appreciate them taking away the dream angle in this. The pool scene..

Why would he kill the guy that is making his urban legend so damn famous and having more people believe and say his name in the mirror.
Firstly, he hates the name "Candyman" so he kills almost anyone who says the name five times in a mirror.
Secondly, if the writer keeps saying the name five times into a mirror (or reflective surface at least) and nothing happens to him other than a joke scare, the urban legend will not be taken seriously. The murder will probably cause sales to skyrocket and the legend to be even more infamous.
Aw, these franchise killers, always breaking the rules in the next instalment. You just can't rely on supernatural monsters these days.

Friday the 13th suddenly had a different killer of doubtful origin but it was at least a character whose existence had been confirmed in the first film and, while him being alive for years in the woods and happening to re-emerge right on time to see his mother killed was...coincidental at best it at least didn't contradict anything we'd seen in the previous film; his mother still had every reason to believe him dead, thus causing her murderous rampage. The second Elm Street movie literally changed the metaphysics of how it's killer worked.
