Interesting point about the cop/café scene: in the original cut, that scene was placed at the end of the movie, which conveyed that the creatures were not killed but simply moved to a different part of the city. I liked that ending a bit better.
My mom had the vhs when I was a little kid and it being placed at the end freaked me out! I like how they are munching on John Goodman and the cafe people as the ending credits roll and that awesome theme plays
This movie is very underrated, it scared the ish out of me in my early teens and deserves a remake , remember how “critics” rated Alien when it was released?

However, when ol' Decker does a review, he's very entertaining to watch...and things really get crazy (...but, in a good way), when his Pal, Creepy, joins in the insane fun. Of these two, if these two ever got into an actual fist-fight.....I gotta go with Creepy for the win. Maybe.

I was a teen when this came out, working as an apprentice power tech for power company. Part of my job was spending a lot of time in subterranean tunnels.. yeah, this amped up the creepy factor down there for a bit. Especially cause the senior guys also saw it, and decided to constantly screw with me haha

+wayne morris The OST helps it alot too. Despair, desolation,.......it really adds to the mood. C.H.U.D was one of the last horror films to use some of the older tricks and it worked well.

This movie surely isn't the first to introduce us to cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers. In 1960, we had the Morlocks from the movie The Time Machine. Now that I think about it, the C.H.U.Ds in this movie are pretty much the Morlocks of the 1980s.

I vaguely remember seeing this movie. It's not really my type of film but it's certainly better than a lot of more modern B horror movies. I really liked Swamp Thing and Toxic Avenger so it wasn't because of the concept, mutated people. I just personally didn't find them compelling enough. If anyone wants to see _God Told Me To_ you can find it through a _"On Demand"_ search of the *_MobiTV - Watch Live TV app_* available for _free_ on *Google Play*. With that app you can also stream a bunch of indie networks that have a plethora of specialized content, including horror of course, that show indie and bigger name stuff.
I First saw this movie on USA Network's "UP All night with rhonda shear, When i was only like... 3? "i seriously have an incredibly good memory for certain things" and seeing the movie as a tiny child, i wasn't afraid at all... i was shocked by how AMAZING the C.H.U.D.S looked, after my Parents told me "they're just made of Rubber. some Artist is the reason they exist" that INSTANTLY Cemented what i wanted to be, an Artist. and ive fallen in love with Horror movies of all shapes and sizes ever since, but C.H.U.D. will always hold a very VERY Special spot in my heart.

It's been like 17 years and I still hate that dick.
You know I have one of the first copies of chud when it was first released on VHS back in the 80's & in the original release they hardly ever show the mutant monsters in a good shot so you never really see them. Except for a few around the corner shots of the yellow glowing eyes. So you never really see the mutant monsters. But then again that was in the original released on VHS, I'm pretty sure that they have changed a few things since then.

I think the dog was left there from when they the first lady got dragged down in the sewer. I think the leash got caught in the sewer cover and hung it.
Wondering at the end whether or not you all think Bosch lived or died. On one hand Bosch is smiling and saying, "nice shot" a couple of times to the Reverend while he got shot in the chest. Looks like he was shot in the heart area. Then the next scene you see Bosch unconscious or dead and the Reverend is stroking his hair (and Bosch's gun mysteriously appears back in the front of his belt). It's like the guys in the editing department didn't know what to do with Bosch's fate. I'd like to think he lived but the ending seems ambiguous. I really liked Bosch and hope he lived. :)

You know I have one of the first copies of chud when it was first released on VHS back in the 80's & in the original release they hardly ever show the mutant monsters in a good shot so you never really see them. Except for a few around the corner shots of the yellow glowing eyes. So you never really see the mutant monsters. But then again that was in the original released on VHS, I'm pretty sure that they have changed a few things since then.

I saw it in the theaters back then.
Wondering at the end whether or not you all think Bosch lived or died. On one hand Bosch is smiling and saying, "nice shot" a couple of times to the Reverend while he got shot in the chest. Looks like he was shot in the heart area. Then the next scene you see Bosch unconscious or dead and the Reverend is stroking his hair (and Bosch's gun mysteriously appears back in the front of his belt). It's like the guys in the editing department didn't know what to do with Bosch's fate. I'd like to think he lived but the ending seems ambiguous. I really liked Bosch and hope he lived. :)
