Tessie, Thank you for advising people to check their medications against the herbs before using. I rarely hear anyone do that and it’s so important. Have a wonderful weekend!

Love, love, loved this video Tessie 🌱🌱🥰 And yes, I did take notes😅 Your herb gardens are impressive. God’s given us what we need. I’m looking forward to more videos on this subject. Thank you & God bless💕🙏 🪴🐇😘❤️
Angelica and Horehound are very aggressive, so plant somewhere you can keep them contained, they self-seed prolifically. Lemon balm and anise hyssop are a couple other old varieties I grow, as well as wormwood and amaranth. Basil, several varieties are medicinal as well. Lavender and rosemary are my favorites. My herbal library is extensive and is for herbs in our area. I also wildcraft herbs, which most people call noxious weeds, LOL!!!
I love foraging around where I live. Do you have pineapple weed there? It is amazing. Grow in cracks and on edges of sidewalks. Has such a lovely pineapple sent and so healthy. I would be curious if it is in any of your books.
I am still working on packing up your package. I am moving slow Tessie. I loved this video! I am actually allergic to lavender. Thank you and God Bless!
Wow you know your plants Tessie and they all look healthy to ❤️ I’ve got two Mullien plants growing which I will save the seeds from and grow more next year maybe a bit of gorilla planting to. It flowers in the second year which you can use to. It doesn’t taste great in a tea but with some lemon juice it’s ok. Make sure you strain your tea when you do as the little hairs can be an irritant to the throat especially if you use fresh leaves but best to dehydrate for longer storage like you do 😊
Love doing all my medicinal herbs....kinda addiccting....just bought 5 more plants off etsy...its nice to know if I have a cut n its bleeding that I can grav a yarrow leaf n put it on to stop the bleeding or if I get a bee sting I can put a plantain leaf to relieve the pain or I just chew on a feverfew leaf everytime I'm in the garden👏👏 Excited to follow the progress of ur new plants😍
I have Mullein in my garden this year. So good for respiratory congestion & coughs. Can't wait to continue with you on herbs. They're fascinating to say the least.
I take no prescription medication and only occasionally ibuprofen if I have an ache or pain. I think herbs are so beneficial and I would be more inclined to use them or medications that are derived from them. Lots of great information you have shared tonight.
I have been crazy busy with my sweet grandsons and gardening, I am so excited.for this tutorial. I have Chronic Migranes that from time to leave me unable to speak and leaving side of my body numb.
fever few is an amazing tea for migraines but you need to be careful if you take any medications it does interact with that generally herbs are for people who don't have any other medications research fever few and you will be surprised
Hey Tessie, I sure wish we lived closer. I’d love love if you could send me some of your teas. I know that’s not possible 😊 you’re so smart. I can not even get lavender to grow. Have a good night! ❤️🙏
I have YARROW, ECHINACEA, ELDERBERRY, ROSEHIP, COMFREY, OREGANO, MINTS CALENDULA , LAVENDER, and just got seeds for PRICKLY LETTUCE too..BEAUTIFUL TESSIE…I’m working on adding more also
Hi, Tessie. Your herb garden is incredible! I agree with you about the importance of having a medicinal garden and learning how to use what God has given us to heal our bodies. Each year, I plant a few more, and this year I added borage, valerian, tarragon, and calendula. I'm always trying to learn more to be able to expand my herb garden and am looking forward to all you will be sharing and teaching on this subject. Thank you, too, for the book recommendations. 🌿
Thanks so much! You have done a lot of work. I just learned that to make a tincture you have to have 80% vodka, any percent less than that just makes an extract. I do know that peppermint essential oil is a cure for minor burns. I'm also into wild weeds like mullein. I have planted a small herb garden and a wild edible garden. I like your tip about labeling.
I've got a few herbs throughout my raised beds. If I had a larger yard, I'd put everything in tge ground. Wow, I was just looking at chicory on the side of the road today. Thank you for all the important information. Have a very blessed evening dear Tessie
Wow! You have a lot of herbs! I don’t know how you keep it all straight in your mind. I’ve always loved your garden Tessie, but never more than I do right now! It seems so peaceful and serene. Those books you showed would sure be handy to have. Oh, and now I know exactly what I did wrong with my herbs and why they are not growing for me! Thanks for the education! I guess it isn’t too late to start more? Thanks for this video! It was very educational! Have a blessed weekend. 💜🙏
Hey Tessie. I have been very interested in learning all i can about herbs and food for healing the body. I need to get a few good books for sure to study. I love your herb garden and i have never met anyone with as many different herbs as you and i have never heard of most of them but look forward to see what you will do with them. Thank you for this video and showing us what you are growing. I was very late tonight because i had to pack my stuff at my sons to come home tonight. And i will get to do all of this again next Sat. when he goes on vacation again😳lol. See you tomorrow my sisterfriend 👍💙🤗🙏🌱💐
Hi Tessie, I have been getting into herbal remedies a lot lately and this is a great video! I have chronic pain and horrible anxiety, also right now I am in the midst of a colitis flare. Lemon balm and chamomile teas have been my favored drinks lately, and today I dried some strawberry leaves to add to my collection! THANK YOU for showing how to start the seeds so I can add to my herb garden :)
@@hollyj2925 There really isn't anything I can take for my pain due to a lot of stomach, GERD issues, but I have found PEMF magna therapy helps a bit , you might see if there is a therapist near you that does it.
Wow..thats some serious medicinal herbs ..i recently started learning about this because there a lot growing in and around my yard..its absolutely fascinating..and u may scream, but i also have a few dandelions i use for a number of things too. Do you make tinctures etc? Or mostly teas? Or salves? Will u do a video on that? Is that too many questions? Lol😊
@HomesteadTessie oh! I never thought of that..sorry..I'm new....but wow- I'll be checking them out. How do you have time for all these things? You must be amazing at time management!
God has been so good to us, Tessie, in providing so many ways for us to get relief from suffering and pain. Some remedies go back so far we'd be hard pressed to know who discovered them originally! I've often wondered who first thought of slashing little cuts through the outer covering of a poppy plant's globe shaped top and scraping off the white sticky stuff that oozed out. Did that person know that he or she was the first person to discover one of the most effective pain relievers known to humans? And who decided to experiment with a plant called foxglove, and found that it could slow and strengthen peoples' heartbeats? Digitalis. And then there was the big willow tree that hung over the water... who put two and two together and noticed that drinking the water right near that willow tree gave relief to the people who were having head aches and arthritis pain? The base-substance for aspirin. You have a real Garden of Eden here, Tessie. What a fantastic area of study for you at this time in your life! I think I can see a day when people will drive in from miles and miles away just to tour the famous Tessie's Homestead Historical Gardens. They'll be able to learn SO much! And if they're lucky they may be able to buy a packet of seeds to take back home with them... a packet with a picture of Peter Rabbit on it! 😀

I'm so tickled that you grow fantastic medicinal herbs! I have been studying it since I left my career as a nurse. I prefer plants over pills. I have a couple of medicinal herb foraging books too. Very very nice. I love it, so much! I make teas, tinctures and herbs too. My husband healed very quickly from a broken leg using a comfery poultice. Marshmallow can be made into a hair detangler, too! Mullein is my "go to" for lung congestion! 💚 💚

I’m amazed at all the herbs you have. Us old people can’t garden, but we can have a few herbs in pots in the house. I have some lemon verbena, but would like to try that strong oregano you mentioned yesterday. Don’t remember the name. Your garden is fascinating.
