    Thank you so much for the deepest explaination. And I love Japanese culture specially in Sengoku Period.

    It’s sad that Tokugawa Ieyasu kept going after the Toyotomi even after they surrendered. But I read that this type of paranoia started in the Heian period when Minamoto no Yoritomo eliminated families who posed a threat to his rule, much like how he grew up and took revenge on Taira No Kiyomori (who chose not to kill the young Yoritomo). Anyway, thank you for the tour! I haven’t been to most of the the areas you show in your video. I was mainly in the castle. 😊

      Tokugawa was really afraid of Toyotomi because Toyotomi was very popular in Kansai area. That was for Tokugawa shogunate, I guess.

    I have recently started watching the new FX series Shogun, and its neat to see a couple points of interest from the show on your video. Thank you for the presentation and history lesson. Definitely a sub from me.

      Thank you for subscribing. I heard Shogun is wonderful. I watched the original one produced by NBC in 1980 but I haven’t seen the new one. Deep Japan has more episodes about castles and feudal lords. If you have time, please check.

    Hello Samurai, I found the coffee and tea shop with the amazing Koi ponds and garden. It is called Rakusho in Higashiyama-ku. If you have time some day, could you go there for a story and maybe tell us about the history of Koi to the Japanese people? I loved this garden and would like to learn more about it. Thank you. M

    • @lastsamuraikyoto
      @lastsamuraikyoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your information. But it seems that Rakusho was closed in August 2020 because of covid 19. I saw the pictures of them on the internet and found out they are so beautiful. What a loss!

      @@lastsamuraikyoto I am so sad, I had this garden in my memory for over 30 years. The Koi were amazing, so large and beautiful. The owner / Koi breeder was quite elderly at that time. I wonder what happened to that beautiful property, it was my dream house. I still would like to see a story about Koi and their significance in Japanese culture. Maybe the Rakusho family owners will let you see the garden if it still exists? Thanks for your response. M

      I’ll check about Rakusho when I have a chance to go around there. Thank you for your idea dealing koi in my channel. I’ll try.

    Thank you for posting, from vancouver. I can see my past" danchi" apartment building @13:22. Unfortunately I did not have the Osaka Castle view but the view to the Ikoma mountains was also nice. How did they move those stones??

    • @lastsamuraikyoto
      @lastsamuraikyoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      By ship. When they arrived at the port. They laid logs on the road and pushed the stones.

    Is it true that osaka and tokyo people is not liking each other’s bcz of west & East war sekigahara?

    • @lastsamuraikyoto
      @lastsamuraikyoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Partly yes. People in Osaka still loves Toyotomi. Tokugawa treated Toyotomi in a very cruel way.

    • @abisakhasshuss8495
      @abisakhasshuss8495 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lastsamuraikyoto it’s interesting ur opinion 👌bcz in Netflix the new Serie samurai history documentary with 4-5 episodes showed the complete opposite that Tokugawa was the most patient humble unification er for Japan.. than asking true Japan people like tell truth about feelings towards past event’s. I think when I would example ask a person in Tokyo they would say just good about their edo iyeasu , same thing other cities bcz of their clan 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @lastsamuraikyoto
      @lastsamuraikyoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tokugawa had to destroy Toyotomi to make the peaceful world. That’s why Netflix program regard Tokugawa as humble and patient.
