- Multiplicity Photography is the process of taking several photos of a human, animal, or object in different areas of the frame, and then combining them in Photoshop. In sports, this is known as Sequence Photography.

How do you deal with focus?
If you cant/dont want to refocus after each shot, try using a small aperture (like f/11 or f/16).
what Photoshop software are you using?

Your videos and teaching style are first class,I have learned a lot,thank you,but,for easier comprehension for us native English speakers please desist from saying,''like'' every fifth word.
To me ''f/4 is f/4 but ''like f/4'' could be f/3.75 or f/4.3,both are very like f/4.,When you say''like something''I often find myself looking for something similar as opposed to the setting you have stated.This is not a criticism but a suggestion,thanks again for all tutorials.
Thanks for the great tutorial. Last year, I created a Multiplicity photograph of myself jumping a ramp on a snowboard from 6 images. I used the layer masks but it was frustrating because I was hiding every layer (didn't know about the Ctrl + I shortcut). That will make it MUCH easier next time. Keep up the great work.
I think I saw this in 2011 and I made a successful project. Now I found it again in 2021 because I need to do another job just for fun. Thanks man!
It didn't know. He has more layers in and when he deletes something from a layer that is above another layer it becomes transparent and reveals the layer underneath it, which is of course the same picture except he is elsewhere.
I brush the image away and it disappears. But when I do CTRL I he does not comes back? Also when I paint it does not show black in the white layer. Please help.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this. I have a layer mask on 3 separate pics. The rectangle for each layer shows white. The colors in the palette show black as foreground and white as background. When I select the top most layer like you are, and "paint" nothing happens on the pic, but I can see the mask altering. What gives?
hey i am kinda new to the whole photoshop thing but am really enjoying your videos. but am wanting to try one thing if its even possible. id like to try this multiplicity but with also changing the sizes of people is it even possible and ifd so how? i can seem to find a video on it any where?

Hello friend, I would take is a doubt about the bid to reverse the photo layer to the second aprecer that part that you can not do is invert the layer and appear as the second person photographed in a different place, could you help me
nice work... i took photos and tried to add to photo shop however m not able to get the option scripts on my photoshop... is there any other version of photoshop i need to purchase or should i download please advise on which photoshop are you using....
I can't seem to make this work, i get as far as inverting the photo but then i can see the first image along with the second, when I select the layer mask my photoshop wont allow me to use the brush tool on it, does anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong ?

You can just copy-paste them from different pictures :P Only problem using Paint is that you can't move the camera at all or they will fail.
if i am not using a tripod for dis method but a kind of thing that manages to hold my camera so which option should i check while loading d pictures into stack (at a stage when u said that we don't need to check this)

OK having a little trouble here ... I have loaded all the photos and clicked on the Layer/vector mask but when I chose a black brush it colours the person black and does not erase. I am using CS3. What have I done wrong ?

Having some issue with the black brush.(erasing the image) I think I have a black brush and when I erase the image it turns white? Also, what are the specs on brush info..hardness etc. Thx!
How come your pictures looks so good before you even used photoshop? It looks like you´ve played around with the light, did you? If not ,what kind of settings did you have? :)
its much easyer if you simply load the pics over each other as layers, and simply erase with eraser tool, on each layer, the areas where your duplicated character apears
tryed this for the first time indoors and turned out very well thanks for making this video gonnae try more dont think will go for the 100 that will be a lot of work lol.
why is it that when i'm trying to erase the person through the brush he is not erased. instead the normal brush effect can be seen. can you help me please thanks :)
@superCam25 in my country we crack the original version of ALL software and sell it only USD $1 for each DVD..and this is legal..police and government do nothing :)

if u hav canon photo stichr,clk photos in manual focusing,then add all of them,u get the same.i think same thing will happen if u use a panorama maker software
Since Photoshop costs an arm and a leg, I was told that I could use Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. Can ya tell me how to do it in that? That would be awesome. Thanks

Works great; however, when I remove my subject, my pictures gets distorted. I can still see the shape of what I erased. It's like a halo surrounding each picture Plus a car that was in my picture got really distorted. What am I doing wrong?

when I paint with the brush it erases the subject but does not paint on the layer. Use to work not sure if I clicked something by mistake.

my setup is as follows:
nikon d40 with 18-55mm lens in autofocus mode on a tripod and a remote. im shooting inside my room.
first i put the camera on af and focussed on the area where i will be standing first and then turned AF off. i took 3 shots with me at 3 places and all 3 came out of focus.
then i put the camera back on AF mode and took 3 shots with me at 3 parts of the frame.all came out gud but there's some prblm
i only have adobe photoshop 7.0.. i dont have some of the options like 'scripts and loads files into stacks please help? :( i really wanna try this out

when i used the brush tool to erase myself on the picture, the background (flowers and trees) dissapeared too ! i dont know what happened !
sometimes when I attempt to delete from the layer mask, it gives me the black "no" symbol. Why is this and how can i fix that? Plz message me, Thanks!

Open the first pic. Then open the next one, press and hold the shift key while dragging
it into the first pic layer. Repeat for the rest.
how do u get them all in focus if u dont change the focus range?? if they r like one in the back and one in the front and on the side and all that ?
When u removed urself in the first photo, how did the part of the chair behind u become visible? I mean u didnt take a separate photo of the chair so that part of the chair which was behind u shudve erased too right?
i think its bcos the camera was on AF mode.
so pls tell me how to focus the camera(auto or manual), where to put the camera and how to get all 3 or 4 of me in diff parts of the frame in perfect focus. i want the final edited image to look as natural as possible.
(I've no problem with editing. its fine)

yeah...scripts might not be there, but you can open all of your pics individually then copy/paste into one. Then do the masks and flatten.
OK hate to ask again, but I can't figure out how to do stacks in PSE9. I'm sure it's simple, but I'm new to PSE. Can anybody help me out??

On Samsung galaxy S4, they have "Drama shot" and i don't know if DSLR can do it ? and what's the "real" name of that kind of photography.

you should do one with a gymnast! she could be like dive rolling over another person and it could be really cool! it would be interesting to see it on bars! lol
Or simply use Dramashot for Android devices.. No SLR.. No tripod. No photoshop. Anyone can do it using that....
