“You act like a woman” which she thinks means she should assault him?
If he took her head off because he “acted like a man” she’d be the one up here crying about it.

I actually agree with that. If he was hitting on her she would be acting like a bitch crying and shit. But he’s a real man because he doesn’t put his hands on a woman. What I feel like she’s daring him to hit her and I know he’s not the type of guy to do that. He reminds me of a little bit of a softer version of myself. But I like like me because I don’t hit women either a lot of the time I kind a like him just be upset for that I will go with custom out. But that’s the for that I would go. Don’t get me wrong there are a woman that test your patience. But you just Gotta walk away ignore them.

We have to be strong all the time we are not allowed to cry apparently. And if we do we are a bitch. Hi I noticed that too. It’s sad. Men should be able to express their emotions just as much as women. We are human beings at the end of the day as well. Honestly the thing that drives me the most nuts about this is how she brings up the “fat b*tch” part and right away you can tell it was something that happened like once during a fight where she was probably drawing literal blood but it’s supposed to completely reverse the physical abuse part (which you can totally tell is all her) back onto him and you can see here it always works.
Imagine if a man justified physically abusing his wife by bringing up something she said to him and the conversation immediately shifted to what the women said and everyone went “oh well see it goes both ways”. It’s like whatever a man has ever done once when he’s at his angriest is this total get-out-of-jail-free card when a woman has done the same and much worse and as a pattern of behavior.
This show is constantly reminding me of that Bill Burr bit about how a lot of women fight/argue with their husbands/boyfriends. When in the wrong start doing whatever will get the guy heated and then push it until the conversation immediately shifts to whatever he did because of that.
It’s just so frustrating because so many times if men aren’t dismissed outright, then the conversation basically becomes “Are you literally perfect? No? Then you’re no better than her, now sit down.”
I guess the lesson is that everyone here should’ve stayed on track. The guy should’ve stayed on track by not calling his wife a fat b*tch, the woman should’ve stayed on track by not diverting the blame for physical abuse to what he said and Steve shouldn’t have taken that bait.

My husband came from an abusive relationship. The b*tch beat him, scratched him, kicked him and mentally abused him. He still has a bit of ptsd from it 9 years later. Sometimes I’ll have to walk away from him when we get in a heated discussion because I don’t want to say anything out of anger and I need to collect my thoughts. He’s literally said to me “I’d rather you punch me and get it over with instead of leaving me wondering what’s going on in your head!”

I entirely agree with everyone on the double standards. It's disheartening to see in every episode where the man is being abused. I do think counseling would help a lot though, if they're planning to try to work things out, because I'm seriously getting a postpartum depression vibe from her. I'm not saying that justifies her abuse, but if that's the case, finding a way for her to get past it could make a world of difference in her anger and impulse control and her ability to take on her responsibilities as a mother.
