- We got a used 450SXF and made into a much more usable XCF version that is now the king of the track and trail.

I run a very tricked 450EXC, but would love a motocross bred bike, with lights and tag,,, sweet project.
Really like to Estart, lights and tag on my 89 CR500, now that would be a blast

I like the radiator mod.
I have been going thru this exact process on my 05 CRF450R. Perhaps I should have watched this prior, I’m almost done, but think I’m on the right track. Since it is an older bike, I don’t have a battery, so I had to install a battery to add a radiator fan. 18” wheelset. Tubliss, Scott’s steering stabilizer, frame and radiator guards, front and rear disc guards, suspension done, gearing changed (I don’t need to get to 40 mph in 1st gear), tires, hand guards, Rekluse (prevents stalling since no Estart and allows the bike to lug). Motion pro radiator overflow reservoir, larger front rotor kit, new rear rotor and sprocket (all done at same time as wheels and tires).
Already had: Allied double triple clamps, twin air filter kit, suspension done for MX, pro moto tip/spark arrestor, engine ice coolant, answer pro taper, ASV levers, (engine is stock, don’t need any more power).
On the way: larger radiators, Boysen super charger radiator kit, 2.6 gal tank
Cosmetics And to make the bike look little more modern: new graphics kit, 2019 front fender mod, cut side number plates (Yost designs mod, similar shape/size to 2017-2020), new seat cover, etc.
Fun project to re-purpose what I already had. 👍

Sweet bike. You know what would be better and probably generate a Huge fan base would be to pic a fan of your shows bike. Something in descent shape, not to beat up. Maybe a old guys bike, and do a make over? You have some great sponsors. You could make a some father who has spent a ton of time and money ( because we know dirt bikes are not a cheap hobby) with there family and kids you could do a great video and maybe a ride day with you guys. Just a thought.

1st through 3rd on both models are almost identical then 4th gear on xcf is taller than 5th gear on sxf and the xcf has 6 gears while the sxf has only 5
2021 has 5 gears.

Hi sir. I am looking for a 450xcf but I have some doubts. When was the model updated? I have found very little information and sometimes one source contradicts another and I prefer to ask a KTM expert like you. I try to get a second hand bike and I want to get the latest update, not sure if the last change was in 2017 or 2018 to the present. That is, the 2017 model onwards is the same bike to 2021? OK -- email me after this if need more info-- in my about or bio on IG-- the 2016-18 is the same basically-- however the 2016 has the less than good 4CS forks-so really only 2017-18 would be bikes to go after- Then 2019-22 is basically the same bikes.

250 transmissions are not the same. Sxf is close ratio 5 speed, XCF is semi wide ratio 6 speed just like the 350. Same with the 2 strokes. The XC's have the semi wide ratio 6 speed... 450 is the only one that shares the same transmission

what psi were you guys running in the fork
140-148 trails have to test it- -also make sure your forks are bleed every ride
@@dirtbiketv1 yeah sweet, i was at 145psi, good on hard pack tough to turn in soft sand though. haven't bled the fork yet i will have to try that thats for an 84kg rider
How do I get the "W" out of my 2018 300 xcw? Third gear is a little too tall for the trails that I ride.
It's my understanding that the "W" is between 1st and 2nd - 3,4,5 etc. is the same. Basically, 1 is lower and 2 is taller (thus wide) - but correction welcome.
Andrew Boundy 1 and 2 are lower on the W. 3 and up are the same. It’s the way too low 1st and large gap between 2 and 3 that’s makes the W gear ratios a little weird.

Can 1st and 2nd be changed to a non “W” ratio. 1st gear is pretty much useless.
@@johnfavre1987 Yeah you can put an XC trans into a XCW but it's very labor intensive. You have to tear the whole bottom end apart.
