    OMG!!!!!! you saved me from a lifetime of gaps... slip stitch into the top of the first double crochet, instead of the chain stitches, and the gap goes away. Wow thank you!!

      Forgot to mention, I made this hat for my baby brother almost 2 years ago. Now I'm making it for a soon-to-come cousin. I hope to have to come back to this tutorial many times in the future!

    When I was about a year younger than I am now, I was hopeless at crocheting. I used your videos to learn. I love your step by step tutorials (that's how I learned stitches) and now, just a year later, I am a really good crocheter. Thank you SO MUCH!

    Great tutorial, it is easy to grasp and try.. I have a query.
    For all other rounds except the last round, we have start with 2 chains.. And the last round with 1 chain.

    • @QueLindaMay
      @QueLindaMay 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The last row consists of single crochets so you only need to start with one chain. The number of chains you start with indicate the stitch you’re going to make. For eg., if you were to make treble crochets you would start with three chains.

    This is amazing and simple. As a knitter I have trouble visualizing with just one hook. I just wanted to know, how would I make this to fit a small four year old? Any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking I would do maybe two more increase rows? Is that correct? Thanks again!

    • @woolywonderscrochet7586
      @woolywonderscrochet7586  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Elfchef87 Thank you! To increase you would could just increase the size crochet hook you are using or add a few more increase rounds. I hope this helps, thank you for watching x

    I am new to crochet and I was wondering more specifically what yarn to use. Should it be medium, bulky, etc? Excellent video!!

    • @Sixteenbearings
      @Sixteenbearings 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like she's using Bernat Roving yarn. Which is a bulky yarn. (i get mine at walmart) It's super soft and chunky but it does take a little more attention to where your stitches are because of its fuzzy nature. More simple yarns the better when you are starting. To get a thicker look with medium yarns you can always use 2 pieces tied together instead of just 1 piece (make your initial slip stitch with 2 pieces instead of 1) Hope this helps, happy learning!

    I have been trying to make a baby hat for quite sometime now for my month old nephew. I was beginning to think by the time I found a good video he would be graduating high school! Then I stumbled upon yours and I finally made my first baby hat! I had never used the "magic loop" before so that was a little hard to figure out. But after a few tries I did it and I can't wait to make more hats with your method.:-) Quick question...if I wanted to make this style for a grown up...how many rows do I increase for? Thanks again. Good job.
    Faith
