I did this same route back in February of this year, i'm soon to be 13 in April and i went first class for the first time. It was an absolute blast for me! The seats were better than last year (since i went last year) and i got to have two bacon rolls which were super delicious! As well as a really nice tea i had a really nice view of the countryside as the smooth ride dragged me into an eventual slumber. It's a shame i only get an opportunity once a year to ride this machine. Good video too! Gives me nostalgia every time.
I have been in first class on a pendolino a few times. It’s good to get pampered with alcoholic drinks and a meal during week days. I mostly travel standard from my home town of Glasgow to Preston or Wigan where I change to go into either Liverpool or Manchester. I hope the new franchise First and Trenitalia meet the standards of virgin trains who have been great for the past 22 years.
In August 2019 I rode Virgin Train 1st Class from London Euston to Manchester Picadilly and absolutely loved it! Assuming Americans are allowed into the UK this coming August, I plan on doing this very same London Euston to Glasgow Central trip after a few days in Brighton.
Travelled on this train from Preston to glasgow on a wednesday and loved it. On the way back to London on the Sunday I had been on less crowded trains in India. I live in Australia and that Sunday was the worst travel experience on any form of transport (have not flown easy jet yet)
I'd love to as well! But, unfortunately, Oyster Cards aren't accepted on Virgin Trains. And even if they were, it's not like I could use them between Euston and WJ due to northbound being pick-up only and southbound being alight-only. Oh well, at least I've still got West Midland Trains! (I'm getting a bit bored of London Overground every day...)
Great video - you let the scenery do the talking! You've wetted my appetite to take the Pendolino from Manchester to Glasgow, a place I've always wanted to visit. More please?
antohosm43 If u ever visit Glasgow, it’s a amazing place, I’m from Glasgow and the Scottish scenery is gorgeous, I mean England is beautiful too but I prefer Scotland 🏴
Yes we have and we love it. Had a short break 4 years ago and was very impressed with the city. Also whilst staying near Melrose a year ago we took the Borders Railway to Waverley - such a lovely journey!
Marvellous video - but not a mention of the once great climb at Shop. When I thought we were coming into my old home city of Preston we were actually looking at Lancaster - confusing!!
How things change. Used to be that the long climb up SHAP was a major talking point of this journey - now modern locos just take it in their stride, And no bacon or sausage rolls on this early morning train!!
Fantastic video. Made my first journey last week from Carlisle to London Euston and also my first ride on a Pendolino. I was very impressed with the ride/journey. I looked at the pricing to go First Class, compared to Standard. It was as near as makes no difference to double the price, so I said no thanks. For me a more comfortable seat, free food etc on route and a table lamp don't justify double the standard price.

I love the sound of the 390 at speed, it's so beautiful! It's a pity Virgin Trains lost their contract
I realize I'm kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch newly released series online?

You guys are lucky to have onboard movies while on the train, in the US, Amtrak does not have this whatsoever.
From 18:04 to 18:13 this means Glasgow Central is the busiest railway station in Scotland
WHAT ARE THE STOPS FOR THIS TRIAN BEFORE TERMINATING AT GLASGOW CENTRAL
Lucky that got 390104!
When did you travel on this journey, how much was it?
Total of £50 for standard class with me and my dad, then weekend upgrade was £37.50 for the both of us.

Mi piace la prima classe e anche i disegni che hanno i primi vagoni davanti e dietro
When its high speed why does it sound like a boeing 777-300?
dan tDm Wrong.
Are there bathrooms in these trains?
Yes there are.
Aurora Well noooooo
Just toilets with a wash basin. No baths.
Was it bumpy
Not at all, these trains have brilliant suspension.
Welcome to TrainCentral London United Kingdom on Travel
It’s so upsetting virgin lost the contract
