- Highways are a rare sight in Norway. Today we test the roof rack on the highway. Is it noisy? How much less range do we get? Holiday charger chaos? Some parts of the video is also 60 fps. Part 2 will come very soon.
The car is the Tesla Model 3 Long Range, made at the Gigafactory in Shanghai.

I know you might probably know this by now but if you want to keep the climate on while keeping the door closed. Just hit the climate button and press "keep:
Yes I know. Good tip!
If I’m going on a long trip in the UK, I mostly try to use Ionity as I get a good discount £0.31p khw (4.01 NOK) but my car maxes out at 130khw
Fun and informative road trip, basically go deep and only charge to make it to the next super charger. When I am watching this video the actual temperatures around Oslo is like -21 degrees... How low did you see up in the mountains at Xmas time?
Thank you for the comment! Yes, I was in the mountains for a few weeks.
29:34 since Norway is one of the leaders of EV adaptation I'm curious how does it look from the owner perspective when there are a lot of cars already. Does the charging infrastructure follows rapidly as well? Is it getting better and cheaper or worse and more expensive due to high demand? I'm also curious how this would change when 2x cheaper Chinese alternatives such as MG4 will enter the market in high volumes following years... That's maybe too much to ask in a single comment, but you might get this as an idea for the next video...
Great comment! There has been a rapid increase in number of chargers in Norway, but it’s the same with the number of EVs. The prices are based on power prices, which are about the same as the rest of Europe. Winter is more expensive. MG has been available for years, I’m sure it will increase more, but a lot of people want Tesla, Audi etc. and would rather buy them used.
I am in Hafjell for a few days and while the infrastructure generally keeps up with the demand, during the holidays, especially the winter sports season it's quite annoying with charging queues. For example today at a Tesla & Ionity there were 8-10 cars in the queue and it is quite frustrating to wait 15-20 minutes on top of the 20-30 minutes that you have to wait for your car to charge. But you can't just build a million chargers that are used 2 weeks during an entire year so not much to do about that
Very true. I do think it is important to have good utilization on the sites that exist. Tesla and Kempower sites can distribute what different EVs need, while other sites can get a 350 kW charger blocked by and EV that can only take 50 kW.@@svensky16
