Hi, greetings from Oxford in the U.K. Yes, more and more EVs on the roads here too. I went EV in 2019 with the super little BMW i3. When I got my EV I got excited every time I saw another EV, but less than 5 years later EVs are everywhere - it’s great!

Really interesting. Here in UK incentives for EV's were probably withdrawn too early (it's really only company car tax benefits that remain). Even so, it's noticeable that even here EV's are getting more common with (near me) perhaps a string of 15-20 ICE cars, then one EV, then 5-10 ICE, perhaps two EV's in a row and so on. Two or three years ago there were a fraction of the numbers. Personally I've quickly gone mild hybrid, plug in hybrid to full EV. No going back. Best wishes from UK!

Despite all those negatives… BMW was the first with an EV on the road. It was expensive to produce, it was a project of the CEO, it was not developed further. But hey look at the ID-range of VW, it looks like VW copied the i3 concept.

If VIN starts XP7 then it is from Berlin and probably has the faster charging BYD battery. LRW is Shanghai

What are your thoughts of the reliability and efficiency of an LFP battery for a Tesla model 3? My wife has an opportunity to retrofit her 2021 model 3 SRP car high voltage battery to an LFP, due to current battery issues. Thanks Todd

This is nice to know. Who would have guessed 150 kW is just as fast as 170 in the real world. What if you plugged in to a 100 kW charger? Maybe it changes to 80% with 100 kW? That would take about 24 and 20 seconds minutes in that case, which is not much more.

All batteries termal throttle it's just how it works, if they don't it's because the charger can't deliver more power. Of course the more you charge the less the difference between high power charging and low power charging is as the average speed get closer but if you need a quick top up higher charging power is better

You can get 170kw with battery temperature of just above 20c. In winter I got 170kw all the way until 44%. 60 kWh delivered from the V3 supercharger in just 46 min with calibration included. I charged 4-100%

Most people do not need to use superchargers, just make sure you can plug in at home even if it is the mobile connector and you will love never going to a gasstation again.
